There seem to be a possible parallel between your story, Padraig, and the accounts of the events surrounding the apparition of Our Lady of the White Poplar in Abruzzo. There was a horse involved that was unruly and unrideable until tamed by Our Lady Herself.

In the clip associated with post 133, Padraig, they were commenting on how hot it was, so I do hope your refuge will be in the mountains!:) My family has been to Italy 4 times; I thought that would be enough. Perhaps your refuge would be enough for one more time! After all, a combination of an Irish brogue and an Italian accent would be hard to resist.

That would be interesting to hear!

Reminded me (somewhat similar) of a former coworker named Gacy, a woman born and raised in Brazil, who decided to learn German as her first foreign language years prior to moving to the USA.

Her accent sounded 100% German, and she had to repeatedly explain...

Hey, don’t forget us Germanic types! (Of course my ancestors came over in 1732, so I couldn’t speak German or even fake an accent if my life depended on it!)

A lovely story. It is noticeable in these 'Little visits' (By little I mean this apparition is really only to a particular parish or region) certain things in common. Our Lady always asks for a Church or Shrine to be built. Mary often appears in remote spots and yes very often on trees. She seems to always choose the very littlest ones. She very often gives signs as proof.

I think they say Italian is the easiest of all languages to learn. :) I will try and learn some on aps before going. :) Even being able to say thank you and please is a big, big thing.

Pope's Plan to Restrict Traditional Latin Mass Backed by Two Curial Cardinals
    [IMG]
VATICAN CITY, June 1, 2021 — The Remnant has independently confirmed that a Vatican document restricting Pope Benedict XVI’s apostolic letter Summorum Pontificum is backed by at least two Vatican cardinals, is in its third draft, and threatens to thwart the growth of the Traditional Latin Mass and other sacraments particularly among diocesan clergy.

Two senior members of the hierarchy confirmed May 31 that the document, first reported by Messainlatino.it on May 25, is currently under review at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF).

Multiple sources have also told The Remnant that Pope Francis wishes to soon publish the document, and that it is alleged to be receiving backing in varying degrees from two cardinal consultors to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith: Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, and Cardinal Marc Ouellet, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops.

The sources also said that these restrictive measures will most probably be carried out by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments and its newly appointed under-secretary Msgr. Aurelio García Marcías, whom Pope Francis is said to have raised to the episcopate for the very purpose of executing these plans.

Several senior Vatican sources have also confirmed that the first draft document was preceded by an introductory letter from Pope Francis that is said to have been very harsh and acrimonious toward the Tridentine Mass.

The document is now in the third draft, the first two having been thought to be too severe. If it is eventually published, it is likely to roll back the liberalization of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass introduced by Pope Benedict XVI’s 2007 apostolic letter, Summorum Pontificum.

That document authorized any stable group of faithful attached to the “previous liturgical tradition” to ask their local priest for the Mass who “should willingly accede to their requests.” The decree stated that the older form of the Mass was “never abrogated” and that both the Extraordinary and Ordinary Forms were “two expressions” of “one Roman Rite.”

The Remnant has learned that the first draft put strict limitations on the age of the celebrants and is described as somewhat similar to the indult of Paul VI, which allowed elderly priests to continue offering the Tridentine Mass after the promulgation of the Novus Ordo Missae by Paul VI. It also discussed whether to allow or prohibit the administration of the other sacraments in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.

In its present form, communities and diocesan priests who already offer the Mass in the Extraordinary Form may continue to do so, but diocesan clergy who wish to begin offering the Traditional Mass would have to obtain authorization. Whether local bishops or the Holy See will be responsible for granting such permissions is still under discussion.

The administration of the other sacraments in the Extraordinary Form, i.e. marriage, baptism, confirmation, etc., would be maintained for those who already have permission to celebrate the Traditional Mass.

The third draft moves the office of recourse for matters pertaining to the Traditional Latin Mass and oversight of priestly societies and religious communities that use the pre-1970 Missal, from the fourth section of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (formerly the pontifical commission Ecclesia Dei) to the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

The first draft initially discussed placing these priestly societies (e.g. Fraternity of St. Peter, Institute of Christ the King, and Institute of the Good Shepherd) and other traditional communities under the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, two senior Vatican sources confirmed.

Such a move would be considered potentially more problematic for these communities, in light of the way the congregation has handled contemplative orders in the recent past, namely, through the 2018 Instruction Cor Orans, which requires autonomous female monasteries to belong to a wider federation, and asks novices and professed cloistered contemplative nuns to leave their enclosure for initial and ongoing formation, something alien to cloistered contemplative life.

Under the current plan, Msgr. García, who has served as head of office in the Congregation for Divine Worship since 2016, has been elevated to the episcopate in order to assume the responsibilities formerly carried out under Ecclesia Dei by its former president, Archbishop Guido Pozzo. A professor at the Pontifical Liturgical Institute at the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant’Anselmo, Msgr. García is not known to share Benedict XVI’s views on the sacred liturgy, one source describing him as “the most anti-Tridentine Mass person ever known.”

It is not clear yet whether the fourth section of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith will continue to handle doctrinal matters and relations with the Society of St. Pius X.

Several senior Vatican sources have also confirmed that the first draft document was preceded by an introductory letter from Pope Francis that is said to have been very harsh and acrimonious toward the Tridentine Mass. Jesuit Cardinal Luis Ladaria, Prefect of the CDF, strongly opposed both the first draft and the letter, senior Vatican sources confirmed. The letter has since been revised.

Concerns over possible curtailments of the Extraordinary Form arose after the CDF sent a letter to the presidents of bishops’ conferences worldwide asking them to distribute a nine-point questionnaire about Summorum Pontificum. Cardinal Ladaria said the questionnaire was issued because the Pope wanted to be “informed about the current application” of the apostolic letter.

Approximately thirty percent of the world’s bishops responded to the questionnaire, and more than half of those who responded had a favorable or neutral response, multiple sources confirmed.

One source familiar with the consultation document said that, although the questions were notably biased against Summorum Pontificum,or formulated in a manner that did not always elicit a clear and specific response, what emerged from the questionnaire is how the Traditional Latin Mass has taken root. It has revealed that even in unexpected places, the old Mass is embraced and loved by young people and families, is bearing fruit in flourishing parishes, priestly and religious vocations, and in greater prayer and devotion among the faithful.

On May 31, the French traditional website Paix Liturgique, which was among the first to report on the forthcoming document, published an article titled, “The Summorum Pontificum Galaxy Prepares to Resist!”

Describing Summorum Pontificum as “provisions for peace” that “sought to bring peace to a Church that was sinking deeper and deeper into crisis,” the authors note how “from the very beginning, the traditional movement has been grounded in the action of laymen.”

Their efforts, it continues, were “a surprising and providential manifestation of the sensus fidelium, of the instinct of the faith among the faithful, which defends tooth and nail the lex orandi’s expression of the doctrines of the Eucharistic Sacrifice, the Real Presence, the hierarchical priesthood, and more generally of the transcendence of the mystery: ‘Do this in memory of Me!’”

Should Pope Francis decide to restrict Summorum Pontificum by issuing such a document, Paix Liturgique asserts that “this capacity to resist ‘on the ground’… may well come to include powerful demonstrations and actions.

“Already now,” they add, “in various spots of the globe, they are being given serious consideration.”

Disaster looms if Pope Francis restricts the traditional Mass
    [IMG]
    By Phil Lawler ( bio - articles - email ) | Jun 02, 2021

The rumors are true. My sources in Rome—too many and too reliable to be doubted—confirm that a document is circulating at the Vatican which, if given papal approval, would significantly restrict use the “extraordinary form” of the liturgy, the traditional Latin Mass (TLM).

This document is in draft form. It could be amended. It might never be released. But it would not even be under discussion without at least tacit approval (if not active support) from Pope Francis. And if it is released in anything like its current form, it would be a pastoral and doctrinal disaster. It would thwart a powerful movement for reform in the Church, and it would—paradoxically—undermine the Pope’s own authority.

    Let me explain.

In Summorum Pontificum, his apostolic letter of 2007, Pope Benedict XVI gave the Catholic faithful much wider access to the TLM. With this new document, styled as an “instruction” for the “implementation” of Summorum Pontificum, Pope Francis would in effect repudiate the work of his predecessor, and at the same time cut off the blood supply to the fastest-growing part of the universal Church.

Pope Benedict wrote Summorum Pontificum because he recognized, in the growing demand for the traditional liturgy, an authentic movement of the Holy Spirit within the Church. The desire for the TLM is not prompted by nostalgia; the overwhelming majority of people in the pews are not old enough to remember the liturgy that was universal before Vatican II. At a time when the Catholics are leaving the Church by the thousands, and young people especially are deserting the faith, traditionalist parishes are seeing explosive growth, marked in particular by an influx of young families.

So why would any Catholic prelate, intent on evangelization, want to interfere with the growth of traditional Catholicism? Why mess with success? Could it be because the obvious pastoral health of the traditionalist communities makes for an unpleasant contrast with the failures of the rapidly shrinking parishes in the Catholic mainstream? As I observed just a few weeks ago, it is revealing “that the one liturgical option liberal Catholics cannot abide is the option for the ancient liturgy.”

In Summorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict declared that any priest has the right to celebrate the traditional liturgy, without requiring an “indult” or special permission from his bishop. The draft document would reportedly rescind that permission. To be perfectly honest, in practice this change would not have too much impact on the availability of the TLM, because any prudent diocesan priest already knows that if he displeases the bishop by offering the TLM without his approval, he will likely suffer reprisals. In that way, contrary to the spirit of Summorum Pontificum, many bishops have continued to smother the demand for the traditional liturgy.

However, the requirement of episcopal approval (which is only one of several new restrictions being proposed) would have a very significant effect in another way. In Summorum PontificumPope Benedict also made it clear that—contrary to a widespread impression—the TLM had never been abrogated. “What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful,” Pope Benedict explained.

Clearly, if Pope Francis now effectively forbids the celebration of the TLM, and/or says that the traditional liturgy is harmful—or gives diocesan bishops the power to do so—then he is directly contradicting his predecessor. And if Pope Francis can contradict the teaching of Pope Benedict, what is to prevent a future Pontiff from contradicting Pope Francis? Anyone who is genuinely interested in preserving papal authority (as opposed to gaining a temporary advantage in intramural debates) should recognize the mischief this draft document could cause.

Ironically, the Catholic leaders who are lobbying for a heavy-handed use of papal power in this instance have spent the past several generations railing against the invocation of papal authority in other cases—including the case of Summorum Pontificum. But the rightful authority of the Roman Pontiff is severely limited. He can only proclaim the truths passed down in the Catholic Tradition. If he contradicts the teaching of previous Pontiffs—if he suggests that what was once sacred is sacred no longer—he attacks the base on which his own authority rests.

This draft document, then, represents not just a problem for traditionalists, but a grave danger for the Church. It should be vigorously resisted by anyone who cares about the mission of evangelization, the integrity of doctrine, and the preservation of papal authority.

On a brighter note, we know that this (darkness and witches brew) has been foretold in scripture, by saints and by the Catholic Catechism, and it is in Gods perfect Plan!

Let us face it courageously, as our Holy Pope St John Paul II, exhorts us to, in his address at the 1976 Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia....

We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the Antichrist. The confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is, therefore, in God's Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church must take up, and face courageously!

I say Bravo St Pope JP II

Additionally we know the church will not be ascendant in this passing world. On the contrary, the church will eventually be made low and be of little or no importance, for only by this, will she, in humility become victorious! and then descend gloriously from heaven as the perfect bride without blemish for Our Lord and King.

677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.578 The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God's victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven.579 God's triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgement after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.580

Although here the Catechism is talking about the final battle between good and evil, with the emergence of the anti Christ just before the end of the world.

I have always been inclined to consider current events as a shadow of the final battle, its greatest mirror if you like.

But I admit things have gotten so bad I have begun to wonder. If this really is it? There is no doubt that Satan has overtaken and is pretty well ruling to roost in the Vatican at the moment.

No, this is most certainly not it. Things are going to become so bad (we ain't seen nuthin' yet, unfortunately) we all will think it's the end, but it's not. It's just the end of the evil one's reign, it's why he's fighting so hard right now and pulling out all the stops, he knows his time is short and our Blessed Mother will be the one to crush his head, and then we have the Triumph and era of peace. Trust God, He has a plan, and part of the plan is letting us suffer the consequences of our free will that has led us to where we are, how else will all turn back to Him? Think of the reaction after 9/11...people were nice to each other and went back to church...for what, 2, 3 weeks. Once the bombs starting dropping on caves in Afghanistan and the planes went back flying to and fro, it was back to normal and we're 10 times worse today as a society with evil running amok. Now do the math and think what God will allow to suffer through to get us on our knees and back to him, but not for 2 or 3 weeks this time, but for an era...

The big Holy Spirit jolt was the one I told you about...October 11, 2019 (a few days after the Pachamama desecration at The Vatican). In a moment's time, I knew:
    1)Trump was gone
    2)Our persecution would then begin
3)We are to help those fleeing persecution/danger
4)Padraig's icons were true (and since then we've already seen the Capitol one he was shown happen)

I think it's already begun and events will accelerate this summer and going forward for the next few years. I don't know much about the Warning/Illumination etc. but my instinct (Holy Spirit?) is that it's coming next year and the big unveiling later this month of the government files of "oh no, the aliens are here and we know about it" is a setup to give the explanation of the aliens causing the Illumination experience...how else will the devil convince the disorientated ones that it wasn't God showing them their sins, but rather the aliens playing Mr. Spock mind meld games on them...even Obama talking about it yesterday.

Keep an eye on this cyber pandemic war game they are doing a month from now: https://sociable.co/technology/prep...polygon-stage-supply-chain-attack-simulation/

They ran a similar one last year, and ran war games on a virus outbreak a few months before releasing the Covid (yes, it was released on purpose through China). They took down the pipeline here last month and over the weekend hacked the major beef distributor interrupting those chains. Showing Fauci to be unreliable now is just more of their diabolical games, they're trying to convince even conservatives now that the whole system is corrupt and needs to be torn down and rebuilt (Build Back Better, Great Reset, New World Order) and we'll all embrace it. It's why the comical Biden/Harris show and clear election fraud is being allowed to stand...to piss off all of us enough that we'll all say "enough, tear it all down" and they will, and then comes "the solution" which will look and sound so good that even the elect will be deceived...

Hey, you asked :) but be not afraid, God has a plan
