We cannot tear our own faith and those of our faith apart, even those who are false prophets, there is a good chance that they are being deceived and do not realize, we need to pray for them and to remember that they too are our own. I am not saying we are wrong to doubt, but the best way for the idiot to win is divide and conquer, and then sneak in the back door, whilst all the Catholics are busy telling everyone else where they are going wrong. I am not saying to turn a blind eye to wrong doing etc, I am simply pointing out what is actually going on elsewhere, this seriously needs our united prayers. It is scary, just from the messages advertising it you can see straight away how people are going to be deceived, and how we will be viewed as wrong for not believing it. Our Gospels will be laughed at by those within the Church, and especially the part where it says, watch when they say he is in the world, or he is he he is there. Do not believe him, this is the anti christ. I can see it already, people saying, but look at his message of peace and love etc. We need to pray and fast now!!!
If you read revelations, there is one who is in the service of the beast and prepares for his coming, it is clear to see here. This is horrific, so many are going to be sucked in. God have mercy on us, no wonder there are so many prophecies, God and mother Mary are working tirelessly to try to protect us all. Prayer from the heart is actually the only thing to protect us. So, even if that were the only message in Med, I absolutely wholeheartedly believe them. God has been warning us to stay away from fortune tellers, tarot cards, horoscopes. When you look at those two perverts (for they pervert truth and justice) it is very easy to see why, those who dabble will be the first to be deceived. I just see scores of people believing them, even priests.. God help us..
TRUE PROPHECIES / FALSE PROPHECIES ????? HOW DO WE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE? I use to take everything on face value. If someone told me something, I believed it. Gullible I know, but I assumed others would know better than me. But since then, I have learnt you can't just believe because someone at the church who seems holier than youreself has it right. I have learnt you have to do your own homework. This takes time, but you have to do it. We are in the last times. So Satan is putting as much out there as he possibly can. He needs as many on his side as possible. Many here think "that would never happen to me, I pray all the time and do the right thing." Biggest mistake. It can happen to you and me! If you die in believing a false prophet, Satan has won. This means when you die, you are following an evil spirit, not a Holy Spirit. Satan will do whatever he can to have YOU on his side. He will tell many trues with some lies. He will perform so called miracles. He will create illusions. So you really believe you have seen something which didn't exist, maybe you were the only one to see something and no one else did. True prophecies/False prophecies. How can we tell the difference. Is there obedience? Is there poverty? Is there humility? If there is just one opposite happening. You can bet your bottom dollar it isn't from The Holy Spirit.
I hear what you are saying, but you know if I died today believing in Med, or rather believing that Our Blessed Mother was appearing there and she wasn't he wouldn't have won, here is why - I am going to Mass, I am praying, I am very aware of my sinfulness, I am doing my best every day to live according to God's will. I am not perfect, but I am doing my best. I hear what you are saying about prophets, and I absolutely agree, one has to be very careful. I grew up with so many stories flying around you wouldn't believe!!! Furbies were evil. My little pony was cursed. Don't buy proctor and gamble products, the profits from these are used for Satanism. Oh and one of the really dangerous ones, was a novena to the seven Arch angels. What was dangerous about this, I bet you are wondering? Well............ they were all named!! We have only the names of three of the archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael. The rest we do not know and God has chose not to reveal them to us through His word, so why are we giving the rest names, like they are really their names... Who would I have actually been calling on if I said this prayer? Another practice that has seeped into the Churches is people trying to find out their guardian angel's name. This is a new age thing. I have always felt really uncomfortable about this practice from very young without knowing why, it was my gut feeling that something wasn't right. Also, I thought what if I get his name wrong? What an insult!!! And why do I need to know his name? My own pride. Because the big I needs to know?? Where is the humility? Again, who knows what or whom they are summoning up when they use these names? This practice of naming your guardian angel isn't encouraged by the Church. People pick up their horoscopes and read them before going to Holy Mass. It is incredible. I read Lorna Byrne's book, the first I had heard of her. It was being passed around the Church! I read it, and didn't like it all. People were raving about it, because she said she was brought up a catholic and went to a prayer group, everyone thought it was ok. I have even heard prominent people in the Church say they like her!! By prominent I am not talking about priests. There were so many 'little' things in her book that didn't add up, and what really got me was when she said she had to help cleanse someone as they were passing through to the other side!! Catholics actually bought into this theory!!!! Only Christ cleanses. I watch the messages, there are many that I switch off from straight away. Some I get a real strong gut feeling about, and I go with it. It is all I have. Others, their messages contradict the bible. There was another one, can't remember his name, but he told everyone to pray on a certain weekend as The Trinity was more united then than at any other time. Well, I laughed at that one, ludicrous, but I thought it was very sad that people actually believed this. It was their vulnerability that wanted to believe, their need for God, problems that were just too big etc.. There are no awful messages coming from Med, when does the devil encourage anyone to go to Mass? And as for confession, why if he was the cause of us going to confession, that would kill him!!! So, that rules him out. Now we are left with this. The messages are real, Mother Mary is appearing there or Mother Mary was appearing there but she isn't any longer and they can't let go or Mother Mary did appear to some but not the others, or Mother Mary never appeared there, this was something they did out of their own hearts, for their own reasons. So I look at them, they often tell us they are normal people like us fighting temptation etc, same as priests, they don't just become holy. I don't see anything awful in their dress code. Yes there is heaps of money being poured into to Medjugorje. Absolutely, but this has always been the way with the Catholic Church, we have offerings, we look after our priests etc.. It is the scale of money I guess that makes you uncomfortable? There are some who don't want to believe the messages because it would mean having to change their lives or praying the rosary, and if they didn't do this after hearing and believing the messages, in their heart of hearts they know that they would be held accountable for this before God when their time is up. So they choose to deceive themselves and not believe and in doing so shirking all responsibility to change. But, the responsibility is still there. It states clearly in the Gospels how we are to live. I can't prove or disprove to you, you just have to go with what is right for you and allow others to do the same. If you hear of a message that is contrary to the faith then shout it from the rooftops. I would be doing exactly the same. But for me, I believe that Mother Mary is appearing there. Wholeheartedly, her messages when lived bring about a true humility (and this is perfect obedience, and not answering back one's priest or thinking that they are wrong and you are right etc) and a gentleness too, her example of forgiving those who did awful things to her son, means we too can forgive all the things that have been done to us. As for those who find God by false prophets. If they pray, graces would be in their heart, they will be doing their own walk with God now and relying less and less on the prophet. If you were in a place full of evil and were praying, God would still answer your prayer. Does that make sense?
These are the things that the devil hates. The Rosary, The Mass, Sacrament of reconciliation. They are the biggest most powerful weapons against him, and as for Eucharistic Adoration...well, that has him cowering, he hates all this! These are his downfall, so it simply cannot be him in Medjugorje, or he would be encouraging his own downfall. That would be ludicrous

Follow the dictates of your heart Jane and for now just rely on Him alone and Our Blessed Mother. That is perfect. There is no better. Prophets are to simply light the way for those who have lost their way, of course those who love Our Blessed Mother and Jesus will flock there also, and when they do, in their hearts they are prepared for a task, many come back and help out in Church like never before.

I am not linking them Aviso. I am saying that I would have to apply the same rule to all, and that would indeed be foolish. But Aviso, if a message came up in Medjugorje tomorrow that all faiths should merge, I would run faster than my legs would carry me. So no worries, I adhere to whatever is in strict accordance to Our Catholic Faith, I do my best to live it, and I love Our Blessed Mother with all my heart. Everything I give to her to do with as she pleases, prayers, sufferings, the Masses I attend, everything is hers It gets a bit difficult when others ask for prayers or I actually need to pray for things, then I ask the saints to help me out. Aviso, I have great respect for you, you too love our Blessed Mother dearly. As long as we are all as true to Christ and Mother Mary and are as docile to the teachings of The Holy Spirit as we can be, we are all on the right path, and no prophecy against our faith can take us away from it. We all live within the love of God The Eternal Father. That is simply amazing. I was thinking last night, we all get so hung up on prophecies, messages etc, if we were this attentive to the Masses and living them, we wouldn't be in the modern bother now..
If Medjugorje was declared false, I would hear no more about it. But I would still be smart enough to pray, go to Mass, Blessed Eucharist etc... These I love, I would also come to the conclusion that it was ok to listen to the messages of Garabandal as they are in complete keeping with scripture and even after all this time, Garabandal hasn't been condemned by the Church. Each case must be judged on it's own merit.
I don't think so in my opinion. I hope others will offer what they think on this. How Mary's child replies is how I argue against your view: Must following a false visionary always lead one away from the Church? The answer would surely have to be yes. But then one comes across the testimonies of people attributing their conversion / return to the Church because of them going to / learning about the messages from Medjugorje / Garabandal. Yet there are many who 'believe' one and think the other from the devil. But say Medjugorje was from the devil, then one is left to marvel at how God has decided to generate so much good for the Church from such a deception of the devil.

Jane, I love that and it is talking about those who hear the word of God, say they proclaim it but don't live it. Why are you so adamant to knock down Medjugorje? A lot of conversions could be stopped. I don't agree with the two patricks at all. If someone goes there, I will tell them this and why. But I am also aware that people have gone there prayed and had their prayers answered, some have had their faith restored. God is merciful, He will always answer the cry of the individual. I don't like the two patricks because they are causing people to come out of the Churches (where the Blessed Sacrament is) and to pray at their house. They are building safe houses all over the world. I honestly think they are doing this for the money. How do you know that Ivan didn't get a loan from the bank to build the hotel? He is working for Our Blessed Mother, he has to be able to live. Eating the ice-cream is hearsay and a pathetic reason to disbelieve someone. He could be eating for a reason, and fasting on television. He may have done his fast the day before for a particular reason if this was the case, and he is a weak individual like the rest of us. Now if he was seen drunk and disorderly that would be a different matter. The above passage has been taken out of context, it goes on to say: I was hungry and you didn't feed me etc. naked and you didn't clothe me in prison and you didn't visit me etc Which puts me back to that homeless lady being thrown out of the church. I was horrified. I saw her sitting on a bench in the shopping centre sleeping, she is far more vulnerable there than in the Church. It also brings me back to the point that we should be living it. That poor man can't be pulled up for eating an ice-cream!

The two Patricks. i know nothing about them. i think someone talked about this at some stage, but I can't remember what it was about. To quote what a resident in Medjugorje said. "In such a case, it is better not to be converted at all. It is better to be hungry than to eat food mixed with poison." I don't know if Ivan did get a loan from the bank or not to build his home and hotel. He probably did. I don't know. Yes, he has to live. All seers have to live, but they usually do it by living with little or no luxury. I don't understand the point here. My husband and I took out a loan to buy our house. We made many sacrifices to meet our loan on a single low income. No big deal, we were happily driving our 17 year old car before it's repairs were costing us too much money, so then we bought a 4 year old car in which we hope it gets us through the next 12 years or so. I never said anything about Ivan fasting. If I remember rightly. I think it was Jose who made a comment about how a priest was very disappointed in seeing Ivan eating an icecream on a friday after just preaching to a crowd to fast on a Friday. Thats all. It was no big deal. So yes, to disbelieve someone just because he eats icecream on a friday is pathetic. But I, or no one else said this. I don't understand why this is being insinuated. I do not, and have not made judgement on anyone if they fast or not. I think I am alot fairer than that.
