I was given a piece of the True Cross, back in 1996, but the documentation paper work was lost during Hurricane Sandy flooding of my basement. Where could I write to get authentication and new documentation ?
Hey Glenn, Is the relic in a reliquary with a wax seal? The 1st class relic of Maria Goretti I have comes with paperwork which is headed...CONGREGATIONIS PASSIONIS POSTULATOR GENERALIS.
I wish I could load the close up picture I took with my phone ,but it says its to large to load here. I found a smaller picture of it on the internet, this is exactly what mine looks like View attachment 2062
Well for this time, I will go with this, if you cant authenticate it..."For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation is will suffice."
Sorry to butt in here with my request, Mac, but my daughter is being confirmed next Sunday, 13th and her chosen confirmation saint is Maria Goretti ( whose feast day, is today, as well). Please would you be kind enough to say a special prayer for her this week ? Thankyou.
I have two 1st class relics , but this one like yours Glenn is amazing. I think if I owned it, I would wear it constantly ,like my scapular. May I ask , how were you fortunate enough to be given this?
I have a true cross almost identical to yours. I got it at an auction because it was attached to a rosary of a nun. The beads were worn almost out with her using it over the years. The crucifix attached had the relic inside and is OLD and worn also so although I have no documentation I truly believe it is genuine. I also have 1st class relics (with documentation) of the Carmelite saints: Teresa of Avila, Therese, John of the Cross, and Simon Stock. Have many other second class too and an autographed picture of Bernadette. NOT telling you all where I live either
I received this as a gift from a priest who I went to Italy with in January of 1996 . Want to talk about a blessed month? That month, I met Conchita for the first time ( which became the basis of our friendship ), While in Rome got a private tour of the Vatican, including St.Peter's tomb, and met the Pope ( Saint ) John Paul II, found a beautiful large mosaic of OLPH (my parish at the time , and brokered a deal to buy it (after raising the funds when I got home ) for $11,000.00 ,and received this True Cross. Now that's what I call a blessed month ! View attachment 2063
Blue, the "dude "in the shorts, is the negotiating genius who got a Roman art gallery to sell me the $15,000 mosaic (plus the cost of shipping ???) for just under $11,000, and free shipping ! My services are for hire
