Padraig, I realise you are very close to the Redemptorists in Clonard. I too have attended their annual novena to Our lady of perpetual Succour each year in Limerick since the early 70's but I gave it up some years ago as the Redemptorists seem to have lost the plot. The church in limerick is really beautiful with lovely statues and pictures and stained glass but the Redemptorists running the novena have become very liberal. We have also had a female Minister, Presbeterian, I think giving the homily and other lay people from time to time. I have witnessed several litigurgical abuses. I have heard homilies from the Redemptorist preacher advocating non catholic teachings and views. I used to take my children every year when they were young and they loved the singing and the athmosphere but later I didnt as I did not know what was going to be said from the pulpit. I dont know how things are now as I havent been in some time but its a great pity. Thousands used to come to 10 sessions a day and several huge marquees used to also be filled and the proceedings relayed outside to them. Nowadays they just have the church and it isnt always full. Unfortunately this liberal spirit has destroyed many beautiful events and consequently many souls gone astray. Mary
