If it is merely political, it will end up dying out. No one is going to put the work in that is needed to be a deacon if they don't have faith. It also surprises me a bit that some Catholics think that not having certain titles in the church somehow prevents them from coming to God. I mean who is going to stop Jesus? It's kinda laughable.

    John 15:4-8
"Remain in me, as I remain in you.
Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own
unless it remains on the vine,
so neither can you unless you remain in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches.
Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit,
because without me you can do nothing.
Anyone who does not remain in me
    will be thrown out like a branch and wither;
people will gather them and throw them into a fire
    and they will be burned.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you,
ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you.
By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit and become my disciples."

A very intriguing clip which unpacks the danger of AI, especially in conforming to Catholic doctrine. The misstep that agitated me the most was AI's dismissive attitude in regard to the Novus Ordo's incongruence with Vatican II's endorsement of keeping Latin in the Sacred Liturgy (21:00ff).

BLASPHEMOUS STATUE OF OUR LADY DESTROYED IN AUSTRIAN CHURCH

Art is a very subjective thing.

What is offensive to one person might be beautiful to another.

This is why there must be strict rules around what is displayed in Catholic churches, there needs to be a general consensus that the art is at least not offensive and ideally inspires prayer in others and allows them to contemplate the wonder of God.

Neither recommendation seems to have been on the cards in Austria for a recent display of Our Lady.

The statue showed Our Lady giving birth, looking in incredible pain and in quite graphic detail, in Linz Cathedral.

Now, a non Catholic may ask themselves what is so bad about showing childbirth which is supposed to be celebrated by Catholics?

But, it is literally against Catholic teaching to assert that this was the nature of Christ’s birth, painful and graphic.

It might seem like a small detail if you are not Catholic, but it is an important detail regarding Christ’s divinity.

Despite every possible warning that the public were unhappy with the statue, staff at Linz Cathedral persisted in keeping it on display. It has been beheaded with a saw since.

The statue was found beheaded on Monday, July 1. In a statement, the man claiming responsibility for the destruction of the blasphemous statue explained why he destroyed it.

“Although I started by sawing the torso, the noise level and limited time meant that I was unable to carry out this initial plan, so only the head was sawn off,” he wrote. “But without the head and halo, it could not be seen as a caricature of our Virgin Mary anymore.”

“In the end, the sculpture was just an immoral, tasteless statue without a head, which effectively ended the blasphemy and defamation of our Blessed Mother,” he continued. “Just as the Blessed Mother does everything for us in love, we must do everything for Her without hesitation. This begins with prayers and ends, if necessary, with giving our lives.”

The “art” display in St. Mary’s Cathedral was sanctioned by the bishop of the Diocese of Linz, Manfred Scheuer.

“[A]s a simple Catholic and sinner, it is of course not up to me to prevent the actions of our bishops,” the anonymous statue destroyer wrote. “But it is very much my and our task to prevent any defamation of GOD and His most holy Mother.”

“Just as the Virgin Mary protects us every day and is there for us, we must also be there for Her, the Mother of GOD, in the most severe afflictions, because that is what defines us as a Church.”

Explaining why he took matters into his own hands, he said, “Unfortunately, emails from the Diocese of Linz are ignored, telephone calls are abruptly ended when criticized, and there is no outlet for criticism or even intervention. Therefore, in view of this abominable and blasphemous caricature, urgent and decisive action was required!”

Previously, 8,000 people had signed a petition asking the diocese to remove the “pagan sculpture.”

The episcopal vicar for education, Father Johann Hintermaier, apologized if some people’s “religious feelings” were hurt, but condemned the destruction of the scandalous and obscene statue.

“We were aware that we were also provoking debate with this installation,” Hintermaier said. “If we have hurt people’s religious feelings, we are sorry, but I strongly condemn this violent act of destruction and the refusal to engage in dialogue as well as the attack on the freedom of art.”

Sculptor Theresa Limberger, who created the statue, admitted that she purposefully depicted the Virgin Mary contrary to the Catholic faith.

“The intolerance, backwardness, and lack of enlightenment in the Catholic Church is shocking,” Limberger claimed to local news outlet Oberösterreichische Nachrichten.

Strauss, who designed the statue and commissioned Limberger to create it, said, “Whoever removed the head from the sculpture was very brutal.”

Repeating typical feminist, pro-abortion talking points, she added that “this violence is an expression of the fact that there are still people who question women’s right to their own bodies.”

In one of Strauss’ “performance artworks” featured on her website, she excavated her grandfather’s grave with her bare hand, undressed, and “washed” herself in the earth, which she described as her “grandfather’s home since 1993.”

I was in Fatima some years ago. There was some sort of waxworks in a venue there that also showed Our Lady in a similar fashion. I didn't go to the exhibition but I heard others talk about it. I couldn't believe that such an exhibition could be allowed in Fatima. Fair play to the man who destroyed the offensive statue in Austria

    The artist is Jewish...
I don't even need further information. All clear...

They push communism, radical feminism, eccentricities and perversions wherever they go... Christianity and the Catholic Church are their biggest enemies and they do everything to humiliate it.

Unfortunately, many Catholics (including myself) have become too lenient, we are often afraid of what others will say to us, how they will label us, instead of only worrying about what God will say about us...I can only say about individuals in the Church who allow such things to say may God have mercy on them.

By the way, when my grandparents were growing up in the town, they knew others people not only by their name, but their entire family, family, origin... When you look at the past, people identified themselves by their ancestors even when they came alteration. My name is John, son of Joseph... You knew a lot about a man from your ancestors, who he is and often what he is like...

Today, we look at labels and brands of cars and clothes, other things, we know their quality by name, where it was produced and what we can expect from it. However, we have forgotten that in humans. This does not mean that we should judge, but it gives you a dose of caution with whom you communicate and the external facade and mask can hardly deceive you.

In the Catholic Church, there can only be exhibitions of Catholics and verified ones, not some freelance artists. For such things, they have a cesspool of exhibitions all over the world.

    So, so horrific!:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Lord, may Your grace impact the hearts of all who perpetrate such insults against Mary Immaculate. Hardness of heart has blinded them! May our prayers and tears united with Our Lady provide them the grace of repentance and the miracle of the confessional! Let us recall the miracle granted in part through the witness and encouragement of Baron Theodore. Make me more bold, O Holy Spirit!
