And we just don’t need that nonsense on MOG any longer. It’s too late in the game to be sidelined by it.

  2. Well, a new surprise every day!

Pope institutes new celebration of Mary, Mother of Church
Pope Francis inserts the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, into the Roman Calendar on the Monday following Pentecost Sunday.

The liturgical celebration, B. Mariæ Virginis, Ecclesiæ Matris, will be celebrated annually as a Memorial on the day after Pentecost.

In a decree released on Saturday by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Cardinal Robert Sarah, its Prefect, said the Pope’s decision took account of the tradition surrounding the devotion to Mary as Mother of the Church.

    .......
Scripture, the decree says, depicts Mary at the foot of the Cross (cf. Jn 19:25). There she became the Mother of the Church when she “accepted her Son’s testament of love and welcomed all people in the person of the beloved disciple as sons and daughters to be reborn unto life eternal.”

In 1964, the decree says, Pope Paul VI “declared the Blessed Virgin Mary as ‘Mother of the Church, that is to say of all Christian people, the faithful as well as the pastors, who call her the most loving Mother’ and established that ‘the Mother of God should be further honoured and invoked by the entire Christian people by this tenderest of titles’”.

Cardinal Sarah: ‘New Marian memorial aid to Christian life’[/paste:font]

He said the Holy Father wishes to promote this devotion in order to “encourage the growth of the maternal sense of the Church in the pastors, religious and faithful, as well as a growth of genuine Marian piety”.

Votive Mass now made a fixed celebration

Cardinal Sarah: ‘New Marian memorial aid to Christian life’
The newly-instituted Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, will help Christians plant their lives on the Cross, the Eucharist, and the Mother of God, according to Cardinal Robert Sarah.

    .......
    ‘Mary, Mother of the Church’

Cardinal Sarah said the new Memorial is a result of the “maturation of liturgical veneration given to Mary following a better understanding of her presence ‘in the mystery of Christ and of the Church’, as explained in Chapter 7 of Vatican II’s Lumen gentium.”

.....The hope, Cardinal Sarah concluded, is that the celebration of Mary as Mother of the Church “will remind all Christ’s disciples that, if we want to grow and to be filled with the love of God, it is necessary to plant our life firmly on three great realities: the Cross, the Eucharist, and the Mother of God.”

  4. In New Document, Vatican Proclaims Jesus as the ‘Only Savior’ of Humanity

The Vatican’s doctrinal office has issued a new text asserting that Jesus Christ is not one savior among many but the “only Savior” of the world and of all humanity.

Referring back to biblical sources, the document Placuit Deo (“It pleased God”) of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) declares that according to the Christian faith, Jesus Christ is “the only Savior of the whole human person and of all humanity.”

While this statement may seem uncontroversial for many Christians, recent years have seen numerous attempts even among Christian theologians to suggest that people may be saved in different ways, that may or may not involve Jesus.

As recorded in the New Testament Acts of the Apostles, however, Saint Peter famously declared: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Moreover, Jesus himself stated: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

As biblical commentators have noted, Jesus did not proclaim himself to be “a way” or “some people’s truth” but rather the way, the truth and the life.

According to Catholic teaching, this does not mean that only Christians are saved or that all Christians are saved. What it does teach is that no one is saved without Christ.

Placuit Deo builds on the foundations of an earlier document by the CDF, issued in the year 2000 during the pontificate of Pope John Paul II. That document, titled Dominus Iesus (“The Lord Jesus”), went even more deeply into what it means for Christians to assert that salvation is found in Jesus alone.

While acknowledging that the Holy Spirit works in every human soul and is not bound by Church structures, the document insisted that different religions are not equally valid paths to God, and thus it isn’t indifferent which religion one chooses to follow.

This text received enormous pushback from secularists as well as from a number of Catholics, who claimed the Christian Church’s claim of uniqueness was offensive to followers of other religions.

Writing for the LA Times, Richard Boudreaux said that proclaiming Jesus as “the sole redeemer” was “expected to stir unease in Asia and other places where Catholics are a tiny minority” noting that such “exclusive language about salvation” is offensive to Asia’s dominant religions—Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam.

For its part, the Guardian newspaper said that the Roman Catholic church was in “hot water again for saying it is better than all the other religions.”

Some of these critiques were disingenuous misrepresentations of what the document actually said.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel of Milwaukee, for instance, ran the headline, “Vatican Insists Only Faithful Catholics Can Attain Salvation,” an assertion that appeared nowhere in the text and which runs counter to what the Church actually teaches.

In Placuit Deo, most of these controversies have been avoided, not because the text takes back prior claims, but because its focus is not so much on the uniqueness of salvation in Christ, but rather those factors that make it difficult for modern men and women to believe.

Drawing on statements by Pope Francis, the document identifies two key obstacles to belief present in modern culture, described as a radical individualism that smacks of “neo-Pelagianism” (the resurrection of an ancient heresy) and a subjective understanding of God that eliminates the concrete reality of creation and the objective requirements of the moral law.

In other words, in today’s world, many people believe they can save themselves by their own efforts while others redefine salvation to mean whatever they want it to mean. This mentality, the letter suggests, keep people from embracing the Christian message of salvation in its fulness.

While proclaiming Christ as the savior of the world can seem pretty old hat, many Christians consider it to be a message worth repeating. The Gospel (which means “Good News”) continues to be “news” for many, even 2,000 years after the fact.

Combined with Our Lady being deemed Mother of the Church, this document clearly shows that the faithful in the Vatican are fighting back, God bless them.

Of course, we get the usual admonitions from the secularists. What basis have we in following a religion that we do not have a conviction of being the true one? Only those who believe in nothing could assert that all religions can be equally true.

What is intriguing is that both announcements seem to co-opt Pope Francis. The enigma continues.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel doesn't seem able to grasp that what is meant is that nobody, no matter what their beliefs, can gain salvation except through Christ. Buddha can't do it for you. Kali can't. Mohammed can't. This is nothing like saying that one must be a faithful Roman Catholic to gain it. Even though the latter will definitely improve the odds.

Pro-abortion Maria Shriver to speak at L.A. archdiocese’s religious education congress

Editor’s Note: LifeSiteNews reached out to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for comment multiple times over two days concerning the choice of Maria Shriver as a featured speaker at the upcoming Archdiocesan Religious Education Congress. We hoped that the communications office would explain why someone who supports abortion and same-sex "marriage" would be invited to speak at their event, but received no response.

March 1, 2018 (JosephSciambra.com) – On March 16, 2018, the opening day of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, journalist and former First Lady of California will be featured in a “Conversation with Maria Shriver.” Shriver, a member of the Kennedy political dynasty, is a life-long Catholic, but she has publicly departed from official Church teachings on several issues.

In 2008, Shriver was interviewed by “The Washington Post” about her Catholicism; Shriver referred to herself as a “cafeteria Catholic.” She said:

Even though I consider myself a Catholic in good standing, I disagree with a lot of the teachings of the Church. But I believe in the compassion and the justice of Jesus Christ; I believe in the social justice of the Catholic Church. But I don’t believe in, you know, that if someone’s divorced they shouldn’t get Communion. I don’t believe that people who are gay shouldn’t be accepted into the Church. There are a lot of things like that.

    Concerning abortion Shriver said:

I’m pro-choice, I believe that a woman should have that right. I often talk to my daughters at my dinner table about the difference between pro-abortion versus pro-choice. I think a lot of people don’t make that distinction in life — they think everybody’s who’s pro-choice is like, ‘Yeah, let’s have an abortion.’ And I believe that choice should be left to a woman.

On the subject of same-sex marriage, during the contentious 2008 attempt to pass Proposition 8 in California, which prohibited same-sex couples from marrying in California, Shriver said she would vote against the ballot initiative:

I believe in people’s right to choose a partner that they love, and that’s a decision that I have come to, and I have felt that way for a long time.

In a statement from the California Catholic Conference, representing the Bishops of California, Catholics in the State were urged to support the passage of Proposition 8.

Proposition 8 was voted into law, but was later overturned in 2013; on that day, Shriver tweeted:
In 2015, Shriver co-authored a letter to Pope Francis, along with pro-women’s ordination advocate Sister Joan Chittister. They praised the Pope because “…you gave us hope when you said the Church has become too ‘obsessed’ with gay marriage, abortion, and contraception.” Shriver then cites a poll conducted by her own “Shriver Media” which found that the majority of Catholics perceive the Church as “out of touch and far to the right.” Shriver writes:

Fully 86% of them agree with you that, yes, the Church should be less “obsessed” with the culture wars and more focused on income inequality and the environment. But most of the Catholics we polled go even further — calling themselves “good Catholics” while holding positions that contradict Church doctrine. They insist one can be a good Catholic and use birth control (94%), be pro-choice (71%), get divorced (94%), have pre-marital sex (88%), or marry someone of the same sex (72%). Welcome to America! And while most of us agree with your call for a serious and more potent role for women in the Church, we Americans would do even more — a whopping 88% of us calling for women priests.

    They continued:

You’ve proclaimed an upcoming Jubilee Year of Mercy. Might that mercy ever be extended to divorced Catholics who want to remarry in the Church and take Communion, without getting an annulment? Might that mercy ever be extended to gay couples who want to be married in the eyes of God? Might that mercy be extended to those who choose birth control over having another child they can’t afford? Might that mercy be extended to women who feel called to celebrate the Eucharist?

Fatima, thanks for this post. I didn't 'like' it because the content sickens me. This witch has the nerve to claim the numbers behind her views, but this is a double-lie. Things are either right or wrong, which has nothing whatsoever to do with right or left, and are not malleable by vote. She claims the numbers but when those numbers supported Proposition 8, her kind over-turned it by decree. She conflates sinners with those who wish to declare such sin non-sin. She provides figures of support for women priests which, if not totally invented, were obviously taken from her own group-thinking circle. And she claims that it is the Church that is 'out of touch'. She knows exactly what she is doing. She is a patron of Hell's cafeteria.

Their utter contempt for those they regard so inferior to them that their views aren't even taken into account, or just derided, is palpable. To paraphrase Obama, they are the ones they have been waiting for.

To make things worse, there are fools in the Church who fawn over these heretics as if they are royalty. Worse still, it may be other than foolishness.

What wonderful and hopeful news ! Isn’t this another clear sign that the promised Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is close? ...in spite of the weaknesses and confusion coming from our hierarchy.

    The Immaculate never fails!

Ps I am very surprised because this is a very politically incorrect move, will likely have negative implications vis a vis the dialogue with the Protestant churches. Has something touched the pope’s heart ? (don’t mean this sarcastically or disrespectfully)

It is very wonderful and magical news. Like a Falling Star in the Darkest of Nights.. It reminds us that God is hearing Our Prayers for his Church even though it seems like all is lost.:):)

Mary, Mother of the Church pray for us, pray for our Pope and for all our Spiritual Fathers.

Mary, type or figure of the Church

By reason of the gift and role of her divine motherhood, by which she is united with her Son, the Redeemer, and with her unique graces and functions, the Blessed Virgin is also intimately united to the Church. As St. Ambrose taught, the Mother of God is a type of the Church in the order of faith, charity, and perfect union with Christ.[18] For in the mystery of the Church, which is itself rightly called mother and virgin, the Blessed Virgin stands out in eminent and singular fashion as exemplar both of virgin and mother.[19] Through her faith and obedience she gave birth on earth to the very Son of the Father, not through the knowledge of man but by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, in the manner of a new Eve who placed her faith, not in the serpent of old but in God's messenger without waivering in doubt. The Son whom she brought forth is he whom God placed as the first born among many brethren (Rom. 8:29), that is, the faithful, in whose generation and formation she cooperates with a mother's love.

The Church indeed contemplating her hidden sanctity, imitating her charity and faithfully fulfilling the Father's will, by receiving the word of God in faith becomes herself a mother. By preaching and baptism she brings forth sons, who are conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of God, to a new and immortal life. She herself is a virgin, who keeps in its entirety and purity the faith she pledged to her spouse. Imitating the mother of her Lord, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, she keeps intact faith, firm hope and sincere charity.[20]

But while in the most Blessed Virgin the Church has already reached that perfection whereby she exists without spot or wrinkle (cf. Eph. 5:27), the faithful still strive to conquer sin and increase in holiness. And so they turn their eyes to Mary who shines forth to the whole community of the elect as the model of virtues. Devoutly meditating on her and contemplating her in the light of the Word made man, the Church reverently penetrates more deeply into the great mystery of the Incarnation and becomes more and more like her spouse. Having entered deeply into the history of salvation, Mary, in a way, unites in her person and re-echoes the most important doctrines of the faith: and when she is the subject of preaching and veneration she prompts the faithful to come to her Son, to his sacrifice and to the love of the Father. Seeking after the glory of Christ, the Church becomes more like her lofty type, and continually progresses in faith, hope and charity, seeking and doing the will of God in all things. The Church, therefore, in her apostolic work too, rightly looks to her who gave birth to Christ, who was thus conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, in order that through the Church he could be born and increase in the hearts of the faithful. In her life the Virgin has been a model of that motherly love with which all who join in the Church's apostolic mission for the regeneration of mankind should be animated.

Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate Excommunicates Francis for Heresy; forbids Priests and Bishops to Mention him in the Divine Liturgy.

    February 23, 2018

    Wow!
Here is the video and text excommunication of Francis by the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate for heresy, apostasy, and rejection of the Natural Law. Read the text below and see the video above:

    February 14th, 2018 Ash Wednesday

Francis Bergoglio, a Jesuit, has been admonished, warned several times to distance himself from heresies. However, he obstinately rejects any repentance. He continues to cause extreme offense not only to the believers of the Roman Catholic Church but also to all Christians and unbelievers.

By abusing the supreme church authority through heresies, he intensely promotes the self-destruction of the Church, in matters of both faith and morals.
It concerns the following heresies: Francis Bergoglio
    1) denied the universally valid moral norms in the exhortation Amoris Laetitia.
    2) did not distance himself from heresies of syncretism with paganism which place the redemptive death of Christ on the same level as the sacrifice to pagan gods, de facto demons. He thus destroys true mission.
    3) promotes a so-called dynamic approach to the deposit of faith, whereby he makes heresies equal with the apostles’ doctrine.
    4) neither identified nor condemned Vatican II heresies promoting syncretism with paganism and declaring Allah to be the same God as Yahweh (LG 16, Nostra Aetate declaration).
    5) participates in crimes against humanity of the New World Order (NWO).
    6) works towards dechristianization of Europe by intensively promoting Islamization.
    7) is silent on the stealing of children by the juvenile justice system.
    8) approves and promotes homosexualism and other gender deviations, which is contrary to the teaching of the Scriptures and Tradition.
For these heresies, Francis Bergoglio excluded himself from the Catholic Church. Therefore, the Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate, by authority of the apostolic and prophetic office, in the name of the Triune God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, declares Francis Bergoglio to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church. Unless the person concerned shows repentance at least in the hour of death, he will be eternally condemned.
Every Catholic who is in unity with him in heresy is likewise excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
Therefore, let the priests and bishops no longer mention the name of this excommunicated apostate Francis in the Divine Liturgy.
