I feel that I am going a bit insane here but the impulse on Rev 11 is so intense today that I can not ignore it I,ve tried so hard to put it out of my mind, but I keep getting this inner feeling saying go back to the start and read again start with the measuring rod..So could I dare to ask that we start again maybe on a new thread and keep that thread just for REV 11 and take it line by line if at the end of the day we get nothing from it at least we have studied scripture which cant be a bad thing..

so lets look at the first sentence
I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers.

My questions are why a measuring rod,why measure, what is the temple of God and the altar is it physical or spiritual ? and the worshipers are they us ?

Have you noticed how quickly the pendulum had begun to swing? By that I mean that actions always have consequences. If we sin this has consequences for the justice of God. However God's Justice is restrained by His mercy and so consequences can be mollifed or kept away from happening. However the pendulum of sinful action to immediate consequence is starting to swing very quickly, signalling that the time of Justice may be right on top of us.

A good example of this is in your own country were they released abortificient drugs right across the counter a short time ago and all at once we have the wildfires in California. Unusual wildfires in their drama and intensity. So the pendulum is moving very, very quickly.

My first thought on the measuring question comes from a purely practical point of view (I am a woman, after all...) When do you take measurements? For example, of a building, or of rooms? When you intend to renovate. You take the measurements, then you gut the building and make it like new.

    Thankyou Hope..In prayer today...

    Nehemiah 1:5-6
5 And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.

    From Zechariah, Chapter 4

Resumption of the Vision: Explanation of Lamps and Trees. “These seven are the eyes of the LORD that range over the whole earth.”c 11I then asked him, “What are these two olive trees, on the right of the lampstand and on its left?” 12A second time I asked, “What are the two streams from the olive trees that pour out golden oil through two taps of gold?” 13He said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” I answered, “No, my lord.” 14Then he said, “These are the two anointed ones* who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

Benedict does look very frail, but I have seen a few frail people of late 80's live well into their nineties. Well, it's all In God's will, may He bless them both abundantly. I think they both need many prayers.

If I am not mistaken,..were there not two people in the Bible who were taken up to heaven? I always thought these would be the two witnesses sent by God for this special mission.
Enoch is also one of the two people in the Bible taken up to heaven without dying (the other being Elijah), as the Bible says "And Enoch walked with God, and he was not; for God took him." (Genesis 5:24; see also Hebrews 11:5).

But by this does God mean to send Elijah and Enoch in person? Was John the Baptist actually Elijah or did he preach in the spirit of Elijah, as the bible says Elijah would be sent before the Lord?

    Hi Sunburst.

In the new thread Rev11 I have posted the full script from the DOUAY-RHEIMS Bible that I read I have noted that in a footnote it is quoted ( [3] My two witnesses: It is commonly understood of Henoch and Elias.)

It seems to me, it would make sense that these two who were taken up,..could also be sent down for these times we are living in. For every man has to experience death at some point..right? Without death,..there is no resurection,..right? That God would take two men in such a mysterious way would seem to me He has a special mission for them to carry out. If God can take them up,..He can send them down too. Their mission would be similar to St. John the Baptist,..and they would have to be very powerful witnesses.

  16. I always thought it was The Catholic Church and the Jews....who go through the passion and 'appear' wiped out and then come back all anew---and shining as 'ONE'.

That's also what I'd read ... but trying to approach this in 'multi-level' fashion, I don't see any reason why the two witnesses can't be both individuals and peoples symbolized by them. In any case, the words of LTTW keep ringing in my head ...

wanted to do a simple paste of the url of the thread started by Fatima but the tablet I'm using at the moment won't even do that.

put in the text: locutions to the world
inthe search box at the top of the page and you should find the thread (among others).
