The Divine Will

This understanding I was given many years ago, but said in another way. I understood there is a difference between goodness and holiness. Good people do not go to heaven, holy people do! The difference being, whether you do an act for personal reasons (for human recognition) or you did it out of love of neighbor and of God.

For instance, if you helped an old lady a cross the road, that is a good thing. But, if you helped her acrross the road out of love for God that is a holy thing.

 

From Volume 16, the book of heaven, regarding Luisa's fear that the teachings on living in the Divine Will might be from the enemy:

September 9, 1923
The Divine Will is hell for the devil, and he knows It only to hate it.

And blessed Jesus, moving in my interior, told me: “My daughter, why do you fear? Don’t you know that the thing which the infernal serpent knows the least about Me is my Will? In fact, he did not want to do It, and by not doing It, he did not know It, nor love It. And even less did he penetrate the secrets of my inscrutable Volition in order to know the effects and the value of my Will; and if he does not know them, how can he speak of them? Even more, the thing that he abhors the most is that the creature do my Will. He does not care about whether the soul prays, goes to Confession, receives Communion, does penance or performs miracles; but the thing that harms him the most is that the soul do my Will. In fact, as he rebelled against my Will, so was hell created in him – his unhappy state, the rage that consumes him. So, my Will is hell for him, and every time he sees the soul who is submitted to my Will knowing Its qualities, value and sanctity, he feels his hell being doubled, because he sees the paradise, the happiness and the peace he lost, being created in the soul. And the more my Will is known, the more tormented and furious he becomes. So, how can he possibly speak to you about my Will, if It forms his hell? And if he did speak to you, his words would form hell in you, because he knows my Will only to hate It, not to love It; and what is hated never brings happiness and peace. And besides, his word is empty of grace, therefore he cannot confer the grace to do my Will.”

 

Mother Angelica is a Saint! We lived just outside the gates of her Monastery for a year. My husband was a volunteer in the Shrine gift shop and I took care of Mother's horses. She wrote a wonderful little book, "Two Will - His and Mine" that I recommend everyone read - especially the last part of the book (pg. 24), "Living In His Will". She says, "Perhaps the most helpful comment Jesus made about the Father's Will was when He said it was His food. Though each person's state in life is different, each one's work and mission are different, the one common goal we should all desire is that of living in His Will - not just accomplishing it - but, like Jesus living in it. It should be the food and nourishment of our souls."

Later if time permits I will post what Jesus tells us through Luisa about the "food" of His Will.

 

Jesus tells Luisa in Vol. 20 that we must “fight in order to win the Kingdom of the Supreme Fiat” and that it is “the holiest fight that can exist; it is the most just and rightful battle that can be fought.” He goes on to tell her, “I fight when I manifest to you the knowledges about my eternal Fiat. So, each saying, each knowledge, each simile about It is one fight and one battle that I make with you in order to win your will, put it at its place, and call it, almost by dint of fighting, into the order of the Kingdom of my Divine Will…” “Each one of your acts done in my Will is a fight that you make with Me. In each round you do through all created things, to unite yourself to all the acts my Will does in all Creation, you call all Creation to wage battle in order to win my Kingdom. “

He tells Luisa that we have in His Will Itself all Creation and all the good He did in Redemption at our disposal in order to launch an army to wage battle and win the Kingdom of the Supreme Fiat. He also tells Luisa that every word she writes (therefore, every word we read) is one more soldier that joins the army to win the battle.

The Food of the Divine Will:
I was thinking to myself that my sweet Jesus says so many grand, admirable, most high and marvelous things about the Will of God; yet, to me it seems that creatures do not have that concept which It merits, nor the great impressions of the marvels which are in It. Rather, it seems that they put It on par with the virtues, and perhaps they pay more attention to them than to the Most Holy Will of God. And my always amiable Jesus, moving in my interior, said to me: "My daughter, do you want to know why? It is because they do not have their palates purged and are habituated to the ordinary goods of this base world, which are the virtues, and not to the celestial and divine food, which is my Will. This celestial food is tasted only by the one for whom the earth, things, and people themselves are held by her as nothing, or, all ordered in God. The virtues that they are able to practice on earth seldom are excluded from human ends, from self-esteem, from self-glory, love of appearing and of pleasing persons. All these ends are as so many flavors to the ordinary palate of the soul; and many times are done more for these flavors than for the good that the virtue contains. This is why the virtues make more of an impression; because the human will always gains something. On the other hand, the first thing that my Will knocks down is the human will; and It will not tolerate any end that is human. It is of Heaven and wants to put in the soul what is Divine and pertains to Heaven. So its own ego remains fasting and feels itself die, whence feeling itself die and losing hope that any other food remains for it, it decides to take the food of my Will; and, as it takes It, its palate being purged, it then experiences the flavor of the food of my Will; and it is so good that it would not exchange it at the cost of its own life. My Will does not know how to come to adapt Itself to base and little things which can be done on earth, as the virtues do; but It wants to keep everything and everyone as footstool under Its feet and change all the interior of the soul and the virtues, themselves, into Divine Will. In a word It wants Its food in the depths of the soul; otherwise, It would remain impeded and would not be able to unfold Its Divine Life. Volume 19 - April 9, 1926

 

I have just about completed my walk with Our Lady, my Celestial Mama, as Luisa addresses her. Mary inflames my heart!

Now, dear daughter [son], if your life and your pains have the Divine Will as their Center of Life, be
certain that Sweet Jesus will use you and your pains to give Help, Light and Grace to the whole
universe. Therefore, pluck up Courage; the Divine Will knows how to do Great things
wherever It Reigns; and in all circumstances, reflect yourself in Me and in your Sweet Jesus,
and move forward..

The Difference between doing God's Will and living In His Will:
To live in my Will is to reign; to do my Will is to be submitted to my orders. The first state is to possess; the second is to receive my orders and execute them. To live in my Will is to make my Will one’s own, as one’s own thing, it is to dispose of It; to do my Will is to hold It as Will of God, not as one’s own thing, nor can one dispose of It as one wants. To live in my Will is to live with one single Will – that of God; and since It is a Will all holy, all pure, all peace, and it is one single Will that reigns, there are no contrasts - everything is peace. Human passions tremble before this Supreme Will, and would want to shun It; nor do they dare to even move, or oppose It, seeing that Heaven and earth tremble before this Holy Will. So, the first step of living in the Divine Will – what does it do? It lays the divine order in the depth of the soul, emptying her of what is human – of tendencies, of passions, of inclinations and the like. On the other hand, to do my Will is to live with two wills, and when I give orders to do Mine, one feels the weight of one’s own will, which causes contrasts. And even if one follows the orders of my Will with faithfulness, one feels the weight of one’s rebellious nature, of one’s passions and inclinations.

Hi, I'm parachuting in after being offline for a few days so pardon me if these have been covered:

Q.1: Is there a Divine Will version of the 33 day consecration to Jesus through Mary?

Q.2: Is there a DW connection to Blessed Dina Belanger - I saw some prayers of hers included on another DW website?

 

From what I understand:

1. The connection between Marian consecration is this: Our Blessed Mother never did her own will, and is Queen of the Divine Will, so living totally in her Immaculate Heart means you are living in the Divine Will through her, sort of like a baby in his mother's womb. Living in the Divine Will in a mature way means you lay down your own will and intentionally do every act of your life in the Divine Will. Living in the Divine Will and living total consecration to our Blessed Mother are perfectly complementary.

2. From listening to the recorded teachings of Father Robert Young, he often mentions Blessed Dina Belanger, Venerable Conchita and St. Faustina to point out that what they were taught by Jesus dovetails with living in the Divine Will. http://www.divinewilltallahassee.com/radio-archives/more-recordings (programs 42-29 and 54-56)

Now that I am about to leave, accept My Testament; may your soul be the paper on which I write, with the Gold Pen of the Divine Will and with the Ink of the Ardent Love that Consumes Me, the
attestation of the Dowry that I give to you. Blessed daughter [son], assure Me that you will not do your will, ever again. Place your hand on My Maternal Heart, and promise Me that you will enclose
your will in My Heart, so that, not feeling it, you will not have any occasion to do it, and I will bring it with Me to Heaven, as Triumph and Victory of My daughter [son]. O please! Dear daughter [son], listen to the last word of your Mama, dying of Pure Love; receive My Last Blessing as Seal of the Life of the Divine Will that I leave in you, which will form your Heaven, your Sun, your Sea of Love and of Grace. In these last moments, your Celestial Mama wants to drown you with Love, and pour Her own Self out into you, provided that I obtain My Intent of hearing your last word — that you will content yourself with dying, and will make any sacrifice, rather than give one act of life to your will.

There is a smidgen of resistance in me still. But I recall that when I first completed the Consecration to Our Lady, I remember struggling with the idea of submitting all my intercessions into her hands to do with as she pleases. This current smidgen resists the next step, to place my human will in her hands, so that only the Father's Will be lived out in my life. WOW!

Come Holy Spirit, living in Mary, may You and your beloved spouse bring me face-to-face with Jesus Crucified!

In the Garden, Jesus did not have to deal with a rebellious human will; His human will and Divine Will were in perfect sync. What was the nature of His struggle, then? Jesus did ask the Father repeatedly to let the Chalice pass Him by, and His suffering at that time was acute. I simply can't reduce what He experienced as done to give good example to his disciples. Does Luisa give any insights into that Garden scene?

Thanks for the feedback - I think I had it in my head that Daniel had done a 33 day adaptation of the volumes so that it could be used for the 33 day consecration, but I guess I read it wrong.
I might just read the Hours of the Passion or commit to reading some of the volumes mixed with Fr. Gaitley's version for this purpose: starting Sunday April 10th for Consecration on May 13th.

 

Yes - Jesus suffered in the garden seeing all those who refuse His mercy and be lost for all eternity. We really cannot comprehend what Jesus suffered for us. I hope this answers your question. Bless you.
