Prayers for all good Priests, Bishops and Cardinals and lay people in Rome at the present. It must be a total nightmare. I see at the inaugral Mass for the Synod led by Pope Francis was a horrible no show. Which I take to be a very good sign. Loads of good Catholic people in Italy are dumb struck in horror at whats going on.
If the Vatican city were to be overran by jihadis tomorrow it wouldn't surprise me in the least. I would have to force myself to have compassion. That is the truth
Synod on Synodality: Italian Nun Claims St. Paul Attended ‘Non-Ritual Female Liturgy’ Mother Maria Grazia’s exegesis of the Acts of the Apostles was part of a larger speech on ‘the cry of women’ throughout the New Testament. (Photo: National Catholic Register) Courtney Mares/CNAVaticanOctober 13, 2023 An Italian religious sister told the Synod on Synodality assembly Friday that St. Paul attended “a non-ritual female liturgy” ahead of synod discussions of women’s inclusion in the Church. Mother Maria Grazia Angelini gave an exegesis of the New Testament for synod delegates during the general congregation on Oct. 13 in which she claimed that St. Paul “inserted himself into a ‘non-ritual’ female liturgy” when he arrived in the city of Philippi in Macedonia. Speaking to hundreds of synod participants in Paul VI Hall, Mother Maria Grazia described how “Paul was welcomed by a liturgy outside the ritual, among women, in the open air.” She said: “The apostle did not start, as was his custom, in the synagogue. ... He inserted himself into a ‘non-ritual’ female liturgy, breaking into it with the word of the Gospel.” Her speech referred to a historical event recorded in Chapter 16 of the Acts of the Apostles, which states: “On the Sabbath, we went outside the city gate along the river where we thought there would be a place of prayer. We sat and spoke with the women who had gathered there” (Acts 16:13). The Scripture goes on to describe how one of the women named Lydia listened, “and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what Paul was saying”; and she was baptized, along with her household (Acts 16:14-15). The biblical text does not make mention of any sort of a liturgy. Mother Maria Grazia’s exegesis of the Acts of the Apostles was part of a larger speech on “the cry of women” throughout the New Testament. She argued that the contribution of women “unceasingly fuels the spiritual dynamism of reform.” She is one of two “spiritual assistants” who helped to lead the meditations for the retreat and the prayers throughout the synod assembly this month, along with Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe. The 79-year-old nun served as the abbess of the Benedictine Monastery of Sts. Peter and Paul in Viboldone, Italy, from 1996 to 2019. She studied theology under Giovanni Moioli and has written more than a dozen spiritual books. She is one of three women who addressed the synod’s general congregation on Friday at the start of a new module of synod discussions on “Co-Responsibility in Mission: How can we better share gifts and tasks in the service of the Gospel?” which will be discussed by synod delegates over the next two days. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nc...t-paul-attended-non-ritual-female-liturgy?amp
Pope Francis Meets With U.S. LGBT Group New Ways Ministry Previously Denounced by Vatican None of the Holy Father’s comments in the meeting were reported in the organization’s statement. Pope Francis waves to pilgrims in St. Peter's Square during his Angelus address on Oct. 15, 2023. Joe Bukuras/CNAVaticanOctober 18, 2023 Pope Francis met Tuesday at his residence with leadership from the U.S. LGBT organization New Ways Ministry, which was previously denounced by both the U.S. bishops’ conference and the Vatican’s doctrinal office for causing confusion on sexual morality among the Catholic faithful. It’s unclear what the topic of the meeting was, but the organization said in an Oct. 17 statement that it lasted 50 minutes and its controversial co-founder, Sister of Loretto Jeannine Gramick, thanked the Holy Father for “his openness to blessing same-sex unions, as well as for his opposition to the criminalization of LGBTQ+ people in civil society.” None of the Holy Father’s comments in the meeting were reported in the organization’s statement. CNA asked the organization what was discussed in the meeting but did not receive a response before publication. New Ways Ministry was founded in 1977 in the Archdiocese of Washington by Sister Gramick and Father Robert Nugent, who were both “permanently prohibited from any pastoral work involving homosexual persons” after an investigation into their work, the Vatican’s doctrinal office ruled in a 1999 notification. No Authority to Bless Sister Gramick’s words of gratitude to the Pope on his alleged “openness” to same-sex blessings refers to a response that the Holy Father gave to five cardinals in July of this year after they requested answers to a set of questions known as “dubia.” Several mainstream media outlets were fast to report that Pope Francis was “open” to giving blessings to same-sex couples after the publication of the response in October but were too quick to the trigger, as the Holy Father had already affirmed in 2021 that the Church has no authority to do so. Additionally, theologians who spoke with the National Catholic Register last week said the Pope’s focus was not on same-sex unions but instead on same-sex-attracted persons who may be in some kind of same-sex relationship. Vatican Investigation Sister Gramick and Father Nugent began running workshops in Washington, D.C., for “Catholic pastoral workers and others interested in gay and lesbian issues,” the organization’s website said. But they also co-wrote and edited books together, which became the subjects of the Vatican investigation. The Vatican’s 1998 investigation heavily focused on their book Building Bridges: Gay and Lesbian Reality and the Catholic Church, which “summarized their activities and thinking,” the notification said. The Holy See ultimately concluded that there were “serious deficiencies in their writings and pastoral activities, which were incompatible with the fullness of Christian morality,” the notification said. Their case was referred to the then-Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which queried them on their positions on sexual morality. In their responses, “Sister Gramick and Father Nugent demonstrated a clear conceptual understanding of the Church’s teaching on homosexuality but refrained from professing any adherence to that teaching,” the notification said. That notification, signed by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the future Pope Benedict XVI, said that their positions “regarding the intrinsic evil of homosexual acts and the objective disorder of the homosexual inclination are doctrinally unacceptable because they do not faithfully convey the clear and constant teaching of the Catholic Church in this area.” In 2010, under the leadership of the late Cardinal Francis George, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement emphasizing that New Ways Ministry “has no approval or recognition from the Catholic Church and that they cannot speak on behalf of the Catholic faithful in the United States.” Corresponding Letters Tuesday’s meeting comes following a few years of correspondence between Gramick, the organization, and the Holy Father, according to New Ways Ministry’s statement. In April 2021, the organization’s executive director, Francis DeBernardo, wrote to Pope Francis explaining the organization’s mission, the statement said. On May 3, 2021, Pope Francis responded to a letter from Father DeBernardo and said that he read the letter, which helped him to better understand the organization’s history, according to the National Catholic Reporter. “It helped me a lot to know the full story you tell me,” the Holy Father wrote. “Sometimes we receive partial information about people and organizations, and this doesn’t help. Your letter, as it narrates with objectivity its history, gives me light to better understand certain situations.” In a June 2021 letter to Father DeBernardo, the Holy Father thanked him for his “heart, open to your neighbor” and wrote of Sister Gramick that “I know how much she has suffered,” according to the National Catholic Reporter. “She is a valiant woman who makes her decisions in prayer,” the letter said. The correspondence has continued since then, “always receiving cordial and affirming handwritten notes in return,” the organization’s statement said. “This meeting is remarkable because it reflects the steady acceptance of Catholic officials to LGBTQ+ issues and ministry,” the statement continued. New Ways Ministry has not only gained an audience with Pope Francis but also with Xavière Missionary Sister Nathalie Becquart, undersecretary at the Synod of Bishops, who gave a lecture to the organization in 2022 titled “Synodality: A Path of Reconciliation.” The decision to offer the “Father Robert Nugent Memorial Lecture,” given in honor of the priest, who died in 2014, was denounced by Cardinal Raymond Burke, prefect emeritus of the Apostolic Signatura, in comments to the National Catholic Register as “simply wrong.” https://www.ncregister.com/cna/pope...-ministry-previously-denounced-by-vatican?amp
Isn't it any wonder the world is imploding at the minute into tribulation at the same time this Pope and the Bishops have cocooned themselves into a myopic bunker talking pure hot air, the ultimate talk about talks. I wouldn't worry too much about the conclusion of the Synod findings they are going to be an irrelevancy with what is fast coming towards us.
Maybe this explains things: https://www.barnhardt.biz/2023/10/1...rayers-for-demons-and-the-family-of-reptiles/
It is fascinating to see various camps taking I love this quote taken from the words of Cardinal Zen. “If discernment is meant to help the Pope and the bishops to ‘teach,’ and the teaching is surely done through ideas,” he added, “shouldn’t the ‘conversations in the Spirit’ necessarily bring us back to Jesus himself, who said that the Spirit will ‘take from what He has taught to the Apostles?’”
Well at least if the Islamists attacked the Vatican at the moment and massacred everyone in it we have the blessed reassurance of knowing no real Catholic man or woman might be hurt there. In fact if I had the money I might donate to the plane tickets to get them to Rome.
Just to clarify the above quote (post 395) from p. 29: it is taken from the writings of Isaac the Syrian, who was an Eastern Christian and desert mystic. He is not considered a Catholic saint. For one thing he believed falsely in universalism, that God condemned no one to Hell. To that extent, one can see how such a mistaken belief can be carried to heretical extremes, though his life generally appeared selfless.
Isaac might have written it, but this is the quote the sinodists dug up, rather than take one from the Gospels, the Fathers, Augustine or Aquinas. Of course, this makes of Our Lord Jesus Christ (the Real one, not the simpering, effete one of the heretics' own creation) a liar for speaking of Hell more often than any other individual in Scripture. If God created the universe with no intention of sending anyone to Hell, why not take us straight in instead of putting us all through needless suffering? The logic of universalism is 'do as you will', satisfy your every desire, you'd be a fool not to, sure we're all going to Heaven anyway. This is all utterly demonic. And very blatantly so. They're getting bold. Because they think they're winning. Weeellll...
Father Z reckons the timing of this meeting during the Sinod is not a coincidence. New Ways is all about the sodomitic ACT and Father Z reckons much of the purpose of the Sinod is to normalise the sodomitic act. So, from effete bishops ringing their hands about pederasty among priests, we may soon see a situation where they're applauding and 'accompanying' them. After all, ages of consent are rigidly and backwardly high and another bit of discernment should bring them down.
