The Camp of Saints Dico vobis quia cito faciet vindictam illorum. Verumtamen Filius hominis veniens putas inveniet fidem in terra? (St. Luke 18:8) Aug 19, 2019 All You Need To Know About The German Bishops "Binding Synodal Path" and Why It Poses the Starkest Danger to Church Unity since the 1970's The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals and bishops against other bishops. ... The Church will be full of those who accept compromises, and the devil will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. - Our Lady of Akita When are the first reports due? September 13, 2019 Has something like this happened in the past? What are the historical parallels to the German Bishops' "binding synodal path?" Yes, something very similar happened in the past. This conference is a tried-and-true method of spreading new disciplines and doctrines that have been not endorsed by the Vatican to the universal Church. In the early 1970's the German Bishops Conference was unhappy with the "unimaginative" and "glacial" way that the Church was implementing Vatican II. In response they organised the "Würzburg Synod" that lead to the German Church implementing communion in the hand and extraordinary ministers of holy communion. In both cases the Vatican had declined to provide formal endorsements for the practices. But once the German Church began them it quickly spread to the rest of Western Europe and eventually to the rest of the Church. This provided nice cover for Paul VI who did not have to formally endorse sacrilege but could watch as it spread. Are the German Bishops' using the same method today? Yes. In fact, they are being more aggressive. They tried labeling the meetings in September a "synod" but were slapped down because a synod has formal rules and processes that come from the Vatican Curia. In response they have termed the meetings a "binding synodal path" which makes it clear their determination to implement the decisions made therein quickly. In fact they are saying that the reason that the meetings are needed is...because Vatican II is not fully being implemented! Cardinal Reinhard Marx: “I am certain that the great renewal impulse of the Second Vatican Council is not being truly led forward and understood in its depth. We must further work on that. Further adaptations of Church teachings are required.” They are using the exact same playbook. What changes are they trying to implement? Ending priestly celibacy, changing Church teaching on sexual morality and a reduction of the power of the priesthood with women's ordination being the preferred method. What does "changing teaching on sexual morality" mean? Declaring homosexual acts are not sins, blessing homosexual "marriages," allowing divorcees to receive holy communion, reversing the 2005 Vatican Decree and allowing homosexuals into the priesthood. Why do the German Bishops feel so emboldened to act? Pope Francis has devolved vast amounts of authority to local Bishops' conferences. His views on the relationship between the papacy and local bishops are closer to the Orthodox view of "national Churches" then they are to the Catholic position of "One, Holy" Church. Has Pope Francis commented on the plans? Pope Francis sent a letter both encouraging the German Bishops in their plans and attempting to set some boundaries: Mr. Sternberg called the pope’s intervention “a sensation.” A letter like this had not been sent by any Holy Father since World War II, he said. “Pope Francis tells us to carry on in the spirit of Vatican II,” he said, and this is what he thinks German Catholics are about to do. What should my takeaway be? The German Bishops are extremely determined to implement their heterodoxical plans for the Universal Church after this "binding synodal path" is complete. The new policies and doctrine will most likely quickly spread to the universal Church. The Vatican is unlikely to intervene in any meaningful way.
Great piece written by Fr. Raymon de Souza http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/threat-of-schism-comes-from-germany-not-united-states If I didn't strongly suspect that the entire Marx-v-Francis debacle is a ready-up, I would be cheering that another US priest is willing to stick his head above the parapet and speak the truth to power. If the whole thing isn't a charade, then the last three paragraphs from Fr. deSouza's piece sum up the situation perfectly: "Far from threatening communion with the universal Church, Cardinal Marx argued that the entire Church would benefit from a German re-examination of settled matters of doctrine and discipline. The message was clear: It is not the Church in Germany that must remain in communion with the Holy Father as universal pastor, but rather the universal Church that must remain in communion with the majority of the German bishops. The defiance of Rome is forthright, deliberate and unapologetic. The synod will move ahead as planned, Vatican objections notwithstanding. Currently, Cardinal Marx is spending three days with the Holy Father at the meeting of the council of cardinals. If there is to be a schism, Pope Francis will be the first to know. Its potential leader is sitting at table with him." Way to go, Fr. deSouza. You deserve to be a Bishop, and Marx sent off to minister to the indigenous Amazonians. A tent in the jungle is too good for him. Sadly, the way things are going, Marx could be Pope Francis 11 and Fr. deSouza banished to some backwoods for daring to tell the truth.
The whole thing does seem to be a set up. That whole thing about deacons "celebrating" Mass in the amazon too. If that is really happening, that is the abomination of desolation, because naturally they cannot consecrate. So naturally they have to ordain these married deacons{elders}. And of course once it starts there.... I wonder if once satan gets a hold on a place-Germany{Martin Luther} he has more power there?
Well, if he does, the Germans will never admit it. Truth be told, most of those German Bishops probably hold the same belief about Satan as the Superior General of the Jesuits - that he isn't a real being but an early Christian construct. According to this article in Crux from 2015, weekly Mass attendance is about 10%. About half the priests only go to Confession once per year or less. That disregard for the Sacrament of Reconciliation rises to 91% for "pastoral assistants". I don't know what pastoral assistant are but would anyone be surprised if they will be well represented on the proposed Council whose decisions the Bishops want to be binding on all German Catholics? It looks like the Lutherans in Germany are worse off than the Catholics (not financially of course - they're all cash rich and faith poor): http://evangelicalfocus.com/europe/..._German_official_Evangelical_church_continues Here's what it's like in Luther's old stomping ground which would very likely still be under Communist control had it not been for Pope John Paul inspiring those brave Polish Catholics in the Gdansk shipyard to "be not afraid": http://www.startribune.com/in-the-land-of-luther-church-pews-are-mostly-empty/409000045/ Cardinal Marx and his brother Bishops are gung-ho to take Catholicism the Lutheran route. The very idea of the likes of him and the rest of those German heretics having the ear of the Pope is downright scary. We all would be better off if the Pope told them where to shove their money and to go join in the death of Lutheranism in Germany where it all began. Instead, Pope Francis chose to throw the Lutherans a lifeline which is more likely to help them drag us all down with them.
