The Faith of the people is so inspiring. It is the Faith of the people that raises these saints to our attention. Faith has grown so cold nowadays that I suspect there may be saints all over the World who go undiscovered simply because people do not have the eyes to see them. Such a pity to live beside a saint and not to see them.
I would say the opposite: individuals like St. Leopold are like the Moon, which is illuminated by the Sun and shines with a beautiful radiance in the midst of a dark night, so beautiful that you cannot take your eyes off it. Everyone desires that beauty; it attracts and brings peace... When St. John Mary Vianney arrived in the French village to which he had been assigned, the taverns and pubs were full, and the church was empty. Later, all the taverns remained empty, and the church was so full that you could not even get close to it.
