I, too, am enjoying this discussion because it's important to know where we draw the line with obedience in relation to sin.

The order is merely renouncing all of Francis' documents that have wrecked havoc on the Church- Amoris Laetitia: Divorced/remarried Catholics receiving the Eucharist willy nilly. Traditionis custodes which was based on a lie! Most bishops found it perfectly fine having a TLM, but the hierarchy swept that under the rug, out of sight out of mind. Fiducia Supplicans is now cited as the document to bless unions of the same sex. The order talks about corrupting the youth in catechetical situations, I personally know people who are quite ignorant in the faith (not a criticism, so was/am I) who are teaching RCIA and if you get Liberal Karen teaching who knows what she is teaching! As fathers of their flock I think they are perfectly correct in saying no, we will not abandon our flock given to us. As parents if we personally see someone corrupting our children we have the duty and right to disobey, regardless if you a bishop, Cardinal or Pope. Wrong is wrong.

The thing about looking back at the saints is that they responded to God's grace inorder to act and respond to that particular situation in time. We are all works of God and each are called to be that which God wants us to be in this moment. It will be different for everyone, as it was for each Saint. Thus devotion is wonderful but we cannot imagine to imitate them as in a mold, but only to imitate their virtues.

Obviously, knowing what to do today, is not easy, it is diabolical confusion seeing "bishop against bishop" and if we are not rooted a strong prayer life, not rooted to listening to the Holy Spirit then we will be uprooted instantly! I say this for myself as well.

Lastly, we need to stop being shocked at what is happening today in the Church. The Catechism states in section 675 that the bride of Christ in her last days will follow her Lord in His passion. Buckle up, put your armour of Faith and let's be on the offense instead of defense! We are the church militant, are we not?
May God help us know what to do and when.

    Abraham and Isaac....
thinking about Abraham—the moment when God asked him to offer Isaac. It’s a story that used to trouble me. Why would God ask for something that seemed so wrong?

But maybe it wasn’t about the act—it was about the heart. Abraham didn’t understand, but he trusted the One who had always been faithful. He believed that somehow, even in confusion, God would still be love.

I think of that when I struggle with obedience—especially when I disagree with something a bishop or superior says or does. It’s hard. Sometimes I think, “But this feels wrong. Why should I obey?”

And yet, Abraham’s story reminds me: obedience isn’t about silencing my conscience—it’s about trusting that God can work even through imperfect people. Bishops, priests, leaders, even popes- they’re human. They can be mistaken. But my obedience, when offered in humility and faith, is still seen by God. He reads the intention of my heart.

So for me, it’s not blind obedience—it’s trust. Trust that God’s hand is bigger than any person’s weakness. That He can bring good even from what seems confused or unfair.

Abraham walked up that mountain not knowing how it would end. Sometimes, I feel I’m walking that same mountain—holding on to faith, not understanding, but still believing that the Lord will provide.

I remember when anti Catholic bigots came to kill me and my family. They failed but I found out their names and determined to kill them before they returned to finish the job.

But my conscience bothered me about shooting them all even if it seemed to be in self defense . So I went to the priest in Confession and he told me I could not do it

I was in agony over it but decided to leave it all in the hands of God , to be obedient

Sure enough one if them was shot dead and another seriously injured a week or two later whilst trying to plant a bomb in a Catholic area by the British Army

It was a great lesson to me in obedience and trusting in God.

  6. There is this recent interview of John Henry Westen to Fr Michael Mary, FSSR.

I think it may be of interest to hear about the experiences that set Fr. Michael Mary in the path that he took later. He speaks of his early years and, in particular, of a big Mass with John Paul II where he was a priest giving Holy Communion.

The conversation is not so much focused on the FSSR but on what happened then, as well as important unresolved questions affecting the Church today.
