I do not agree with everything that was on that link and I should of made that clear. I did say it was a good place to start so you would have an idea as to what the Siri Thesis was & I did say that I believe that something did indeed happen. What I was refering to was to the elections. Parde Pio is my favorite saint & I have read many books about him. Before Pope John Paul II was a Pope & he was a cardinal, he went to see Padre Pio & Padre Pio had prophesied that he would one day be a pope. I remember my spiritual father's words & I take them to heart. I do not believe that he or Pope Benedict XVI are anti popes. I am a mother of 6 children, I just got home from confession through Our Lady of Loudes Catholic Church by a priest who is loyal to Pope Benedict XVI. I am a CCD teacher, I have taught for 3 years, 2 years I taught RCIA & this year I am teaching 11/12 grade high school students through and about the Catholic Church that is loyal to Pope Benedict XVI. I am very sorry, I did not want to upset anyone. I was just looking for answers because I have seen our Church in turmoil since after Vatican II. If you would like me to stop posting about this topic then I will respect your wishes. I would hope no one in this forum will look down on me in the future. Once again, my deepest apologies to all.

Malachi Martin misrepresents one very important point regarding Siri. On October 26th 1958, Siri was elected, ACCEPTED, and allegedly took the name Gregory XVII. How do we know he accepted? Because the white smoke was released, white smoke is never released unless a pope has accepted the position and taken his papal name. As for the smoke being a mistake, this is rather unlikely as a priest who was at the 58 conclave by the name of Fr. Charles Roux said that the men at the stove "understood the importance of their job and had practiced it". He also claims that Siri was elected and the white smoke was released and a shoving match insued at the stove which accounted for the varied colors reported in the newspapers.
No, I do not think Fr. Malachi Martin misrepresented this at all. If this happened, then it happened. He said what he meant and meant what he said. He was a very clear thinking man. Even if this did happen, it doesn't matter. What is done, is done. We must go forward, not focus on some event. The Church goes forward. This Fr. Charles Roux is the same one who celebrates Mass for Mel Gibson? I say that the prophesies of St. John Bosco are coming to light. We MUST pay attention to our Lady's apparitions since she has appeared more times in the 20th and 21st Centuries than ALL THE OTHERS put together. SHE IS GOING FORWARD!!! Well, if Siri was accepted the papacy in 1958, 2 days before John XXIII then he Siri was the lawful pope until his death and the other popes and their councils and their new masses are all illegitimate. It is very likely that the new mass is invalid anyway as the words of consecration were changed. Pius V wrote in his bull de defectibus that if the words of consecration were changed the sacrement was not confected. There is no way a real pope would give a mass like the one that came out in 1969 so the Siri thesis makes a lot of sense even though it may seem to incredible at first glance.

Hi Padraig, people who believe Siri was the legal pope are defined as sedeimpedists, they believe that the true pope was prevented from taking the Papal Office. There have been many instances in the Church's history where an enemy has claimed the chair. Anacletus II who claimed the chair after Innocent II was legitimatly elected pope is a good example. Anacletus II was nearly universally accepted as pope for the next nine years until his death. In the end Innocent II reclaimed the thrown with the help of St. Bernard and Anacletus II was declared an anti-pope, his council was nullified as were all the clergy ordained during his pontificate. John XXIII election was not universally accepted, many people particularly reporters in Italy doubted the legitamacy and thought they had switched popes. This is attested to in the book "I'll tell my cat" by veteran Vatican reporter Garbriella Montemeyor.

I was in contact with close relatives of Malachi Martin myself, Siri was elected as Pope twice but Siri was quiet weak, I mean he has choosen to protect is own family than to accept to be Pope so the Popes since John XXIII are true Popes in any case and I do not agree at all with this message, when the Holy Spirit choose you, it's a honour and you have to accept it, he did not accept because he was afraid for his family so where was his faith ? In Garabandal our Lady has confirmed many times that we must obey to our Church in any case, John Paul 1st has accepted the holy spirit choice without any weakness, he had family as well. At the end of the day, you can't make a football player play ball. He has to want to and it shows great weakness and diabolical influence for him to walk around afterwards and say he should have played ---when HE CHOSE NOT TO. Period. End of story. History continues. The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church goes on. Well I went for a walk up the mountain with the dog, praying to Our Lady for some insight into all this. It seems to me that the path of following Mary is a very simple one, the way of a child in fact. On this path we are as clear as a mountain stream, walking in the light as children. I am afraid I was naive regarding Cardinal Siri and this thesis. I actually had written the name down after a priest had died in town here. The homilist who spoke at his Mass made a comment regarding 'when Fr. Steve gets to heaven he is going to have a word or two with Cardinal Siri and boy I wish I could be a fly on that wall!" I had no idea what he was speaking of--neither did most of the people, but those who were over 55-60 laughed out loud...NOW I KNOW. So, that is that. I appreciate the education I have received on this and I do also see how passionate some people can be about it, but I'm afraid that one MUST move on and I plan on doing just that. I've got my own theories regarding conspiracies in and outside of the Church.
I think you may be underestimating the wickedness of our enemies. In Russia the communists killed about 50 million people, I have the exact number of Catholics killed/imprisoned and it's well into the millions. Now, freemasonry (which boils down to devil worship particularly in the higher degrees) and communism were always interconnected. So, ask yourself if they would slaughter millions of people would they hesitate to blackmail a bishop, infiltrate the Church or assassinate a pope? Then consider the case of John Paul I, elected in August of 1978. He quickly moved to eliminate the freemasons from the ranks of the Church. A well respected priest (De Pau was his name I think) said that he was planning to restore the traditional mass as well. And how long did he last as Pope, a total of 33 days. This should give you some idea of how long Siri would have lasted if he suffered a similar misfortune had he claimed the Office that was rightfully his.
