One of the British news channels is running a story today about the bee population being poisoned by the rape oil seed which has been treated with some kind of insecticide. I wasn't really paying attention to the news but I think they said that the insecticide is banned in the EU but not in the US. The ban must be recent because the study was carried out across a few countries in Europe.

While I'm grateful to Brian for sharing the news, I have mixed feelings about it because I was planning on doing a blitz on the weeds in my garden using Roundup when the weather improves.

  3. It's not necessarily a sign but it's odd, and someone is probably trying to make a point...if you google "Pope Benedict XVI" the box that pops up on the right hand side of the screen has the text entry for St. Bernard of Clairvaux, here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about :

  4. Oops, the photo didn't go through, here's a screenshot of the box, the full screen image was too large

Watch out: That new Walmart cantaloupe was developed by Monsanto
    Thursday, June 29, 2017 by: D. Samuelson

(Natural News) There are millions of reasons not to purchase any product produced with the Monsanto name. Whether it’s a genetically engineered (GE) seed, or a fruit or vegetable that they sprayed with their highly toxic pesticides and herbicides, they have spent billions of dollars lying about the safety of their products. Take, for example, the new cantaloupe they conjured up for Walmart stores called the “Sweet Spark,” which the company claims to be “40% sweeter than Walmart’s current winter cantaloupe,” as reported by ThePennyHoarder.com. But, why?

Shawn Baldwin, Walmart’s senior vice president of produce and global food sourcing, says customers might often skip over the cantaloupes that Walmart sells in the winter because while they may “look good” they probably “taste like a piece of wood.” Well, gee. Maybe, that because cantaloupe is a summer fruit that you’re not supposed to eat in the winter. But we’ve been taught to demand — and expect — whatever we want, when we want it regardless of it being in season or not.

This Sweet Spark cantaloupe isn’t GE; it’s done by cross-breeding, another method that Monsanto uses. It is a more natural technique that farmers have been using for years to enhance their crop yields. Monsanto has crafted a few other vegetables using this method — an EverMild onion, Bellafina bell peppers and Beneforte broccoli — to name a few. And while this process is “natural” it is still not widely accepted as safe, and it is certainly not organic.

This is just the latest in a long list of wrongdoings by this mega-corporation. Let’s take a brief look at the history of Monsanto, a company that’s about to merge with Bayer and “will control a third of the world’s herbicide market,” according to Global Network Perspectives. And don’t forget about those 7676 seed patents that Monsanto owns and the glyphosate that the state of California has finally decided is carcinogenic and will be banned, reports Reuters.

    Monsanto’s Dark History
Looking back on the last several decades of Monsanto’s history, it is evident that they have enjoyed quite a “chemical romance,” according to EarthJustice.org. They began in 1901 with the production of saccharin, a dangerous artificial sweetener. They also had a hand in the production of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), which is a poisonous chemical pollutant, the herbicide 2-4 D, which was later used in Agent Orange, and DDT. Rachel Carson’s book Silent Spring, is prescient and heart rendering tale of the disastrous consequences of DDT which is now banned, along with PCBs.

It was in 1980 that the United States Supreme Court allowed the patenting of life in the case titled Diamond V.Chakrabarty. This opened the door to the “ownership” and the genetic engineering of seeds, which Monsanto was keen to benefit from. They recruited a team of scientists — called “molecular biologists” — who were determined to unlock the secrets of DNA and genetic manipulation.

Their first GE product was called Posilac, developed in 1994. This was sold to farmers to inject into dairy cows so they would produce more milk. Scientists took a bovine growth hormone gene, mixed it with e coli and created a GE bovine growth hormone rBGH, also called rbST.

    Monsanto’s Media Obstruction Begins
Early warnings that injections of Posilac, also known as bovine growth hormone, could cause mastitis or lameness were quickly dismissed by the FDA, as was the possibility that this GE milk could be implicated in human cancer. Investigations about this controversy were shut down completely when two reporters, Jane Akre and Steve Wilson of WTVT in Tampa, Florida, did indeed discover a cancer link. This incident was the beginning of the end for any possibility the American people had of discovering the dangers of GE food products on mainstream media.

So, let’s get back to those millions of reasons to stay away from Monsanto products. One reason is that Monsanto has spent years lying to the public and hiding any negative information about its products. Another is the fact that so many of its products, like Walmart’s new Sweet Spark cantaloupe, have not been proven safe for consumption.

But possibly the most important reason is the millions upon millions of people, animals and organisms that have been brutally assaulted, and in some cases have died, because of Monsanto’s toxic chemicals and the potential destruction of the food supply itself.

When the State Sanctions Child Abuse
Posted on June 27, 2017 by Mark

Open your mouth for the dumb,
and for the causes of all the children that pass.
    (Proverbs 31:8)

FOR years, we as Catholics have endured one of the greatest scourges to ever grip the Church in her 2000 year history—the widespread sexual abuse of children at the hands of some priests. The damage it did to these little ones, and then, to the faith of millions of Catholics, and then, to the credibility of the Church at large, is nearly inestimable.

It is a particularly serious sin when someone who is actually supposed to help people toward God, to whom a child or a young person is entrusted in order to find the Lord, abuses him instead and leads him away from the Lord. As a result, the faith as such becomes unbelievable, and the Church can no longer present herself credibly as the herald of the Lord. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Light of the World, The Pope, the Church, and the Signs of the Times: A Conversation With Peter Seewald, p. 23-25

And so, I and many others who witness to the Gospel and Catholicism, have had to endure a hail of anger and hateful language toward us for the simple reason that we are Catholic and therefore “belong to a pedophile cult,” as one atheist recently put it. Of course, such people are throwing the baby out with the bath water. When I was sexually abused by a sports trainer in high school, it never dawned on me then, or now, to conclude that all football programs across the country are, therefore, “pedophile cults”—even though the same “culture of silence” covered up or turned a blind eye to these abuses.

    TWISTED IRONY

Ironically, it is very often the same people who cry foul over the Church’s abuse who are now participating in the mass abuse of children through what is called the “Pride” parade that takes place annually in cities throughout the world.

It is a crime in most countries for men or women to expose themselves indecently in public. That crime is only multiplied when it is done in front of [IMG]children. But for a few hours each year, the very same man who would expose his genitals in front of children in a park—and be charged with indecency—can now do so in front of children on a public street, and “celebrate” it. This is horrendous. It is a crime, or should be. And thus, it is absolutely astounding that politicians, police, and even the very Prime Minister of Canada, should not only participate in such a function, but praise such degeneration as a public good.

This is not about homosexuality. I, and all of us, should be outraged at any parade that would expose innocent children (or anyone) to nudity, simulated acts of anal and oral sex, and costumes that denigrate human sexuality. Indeed, such activity is daily and constantly forbidden and halted in public places by law enforcement. And yet, not only do uniformed officers stand around and watch this child abuse during a Pride event, but in many cities, they actually enter the parade with their own floats! [IMG]This is outrageous! It’s inexplicable. It’s lawlessness from both a standpoint of logic and reason and basic human decency. This has nothing—absolutely nothing—to do with equality and dignity for all. It has to do with state-sanctioned acts of public perversion. We can only assume so since, if after the parade, the same gyrating, naked 60 year old man entering a schoolyard or playground would be hauled away in a paddywagon.

How is that you cannot take a child to an R-rated movie and yet it is perfectly lawful to take them to an X-rated parade?

So absurd, so twisted has this generation become, that even the tax-payer funded media promote this child abuse without even blinking. This appeared on the Canadian Broadcast Corporation’s (CBC’s) website for last year’s Pride parade, and is still on their website:

Your kids will probably see boobs and penises. There will bodies of all shapes, sizes and in all states of undress. For parents like Ian Duncan, dad to 3-year-old Carson, this is all part of the appeal. “We’re not body shamers,” he says. “It all feeds into my son’s emotional intelligence and sexual development. And it’s never too early to think about that.” Consider the experience as a great opportunity for some interesting discussion. —June 30th, 2016, cbc.ca

This is incredible. This is called “evidence” for a court case in the complicit promotion of sexual abuse of a minor.

Fatima and Carol55, have you seen this little piece of information concerning endocrine disruptors? I believe this is why there are so many gender confused people, or at least a partial explanation. Chemicals that impact our endocrine systems are so ingrained in our food and water and have been for years.

Here is a study that a chemical company commissioned but suppressed the findings when the results didn't fit their narrative.

    http://realfarmacy.com/sexual-mutation-syngenta/

"Atrazine is an herbicide that has been around since the late 1950s. It’s popular with corn farmers because of its effectiveness with a variety of weeds and its cost effectiveness. Atrazine is also used in municipal parks and public lands as well as golf courses.

With 80 million pounds of atrazine used each year, sales for Syngenta’s atrazine herbicide are second only to Monsanto’s Roundup. Syngenta claims atrazine degrades within the soil, thus there is no environmental or ecological harm.

The same claim was made by Monsanto for its Roundup and proven to be false. Monsanto agreed to a settlement of removing all claims of biodegrading without harming the environment or animals after New York State Attorney General Dennis Vacco got on them for false safety and advertising claims in 1996. (Source)

Agrochemical industries lie and get away with it – usually. And they go after dissenting scientists by at least destroying their credibility and image, even hiring scientists to make bogus 3rd party “independent” claims to their commercial satisfaction. Sometimes it backfires.

    Enter Biologist Tyrone Hayes, PhD
Hayes was an academically bright black kid from a modest income family in Columbia, SC. He was also a talented artist as a teen. But biology became his obsession the more he studied wildlife near his family’s home while growing up. Frogs were among those wildlife creatures.

He was awarded an undergraduate academic scholarship to Harvard, which became the “worst four years of his life” emotionally. He felt like an outsider racially and academically. Some white students openly regarded Hayes as without academic merit and merely a lucky recipient of “Affirmative Action” policies.

But at least he met his South Korean wife Kathy Kim there. Soon after graduating Harvard with honors, he did graduate work at UCB (University of California, Berkeley), and he earned his associate professorship there in their biology department within a year of completing his doctorate. He has since attained tenure as a full professor with his own lab and staff.

Prior to Hayes’ tenured status while working in the UCB lab, he enlisted in a program under ECO Risk, a consulting firm hired by Novartis at the time. After a few international mergers during 2000, Novartis became Syngenta.

The purpose of the ECO Risk program was to provide scientific data that would sufficiently satisfy the EPA to re-certify atrazine. Every so often chemicals have to be re-certified or registered, and it was that time for atrazine.

Hayes’ Shocked by His Own Findings
    [IMG]

Hayes photo credit: Rochester Institute of Technology

Naively, Hayes figured it would be a walk in the park. Why would Novartis (Syngenta) hire someone if they had any reason to fear results they didn’t want? Soon Hayes was discovering things that Novartis (Syngenta) wouldn’t want revealed.

Frogs were sexually affected adversely after exposure to only 25 parts atrazine to a billion parts water (25 ppb atrazine). The EPA safety limit for water is 30 parts per billion of atrazine (30 ppb atrazine). Further studies by Hayes revealed gender changes among frogs at even .1 ppb.

During the 1980s, there were several reports of frogs with unusually deformed sexual organs and hermaphroditism. Some types of frogs were almost becoming extinct while other types of frogs’ populations had decreased significantly.

Hayes hypothesized the declining populations were connected to atrazine’s ability to hamper male frogs’ mating calls and males turning into females and vice versa as well as creating sexual organ deformities. He raised his own frogs in the UCB lab and exposed them to various dilutions of atrazine.

“Some [frogs] had three ovaries and three testes, some had ovaries on one side and testes on the other, one animal even had six testes,” Hayes explained. “Everybody is out there looking for dead frogs and what killed the frogs,” Hayes added. “We’re asking, ‘How come there aren’t any new frogs?’ Atrazine isn’t killing the frogs. But if they’re reproductively impaired, that’s killing the population.” [emphasis added]

A Heated Feud Between Hayes and Syngenta
By the year 2000, ECO Risk’ panel of scientists considered Tyrone’s work insignificant. They charged that he had manipulated figures to get the results he was showing. All he had to do was hand his papers over, since they had hired him, and that would be the end of it.

But he couldn’t and wouldn’t. He knew he was onto something more important than more funding and a solid career. Fortunately, the UCB Biology department was supportive of Haye’s groundbreaking work, and he became tenured as a full professor

Tyrone explained his integrity this way: “I went to Harvard on scholarships. I owe you! I did not go to school to let someone pay me off to say things that are not true.”

As Hayes published his findings and wrote articles or gave lectures on atrazine’s affects on amphibian creatures, he was attacked directly and indirectly by individuals, front groups, and public relations companies hired by Syngenta.

The European Union (EU) banned atrazine because of continual water contamination in 2003. Hayes’ and others’ work were factors that caused concern as water contamination levels from run-off went up in Europe. Even Switzerland, where Syngenta’s official headquarters is located, can’t use atrazine. But a lot gets dumped here and very little is done to regulate it.

The attacks included hiring scientists to discredit Hayes’ work, send scientists to his lectures as disrupting trolls in the audience, or handing out fliers and leaflets discrediting Hayes outside the lecture. All this after probing his psychological profile to determine his weaknesses.

Sixteen scientists wrote to UCB supporting Hayes. “Science with an attitude is still science,” wrote environmental economist Frank Ackerman. Despite his taunting trash talk, his science was unassailable.

After Syngenta promoted the attempted email scandal unsuccessfully, Hayes went on to coordinate mega-studies involving biologists throughout the world who respect his work, and his lecture tours have expanded. But he may still occasionally send out crazy emails to Syngenta scientists to let them know “my name is Tyrone”.

So much creepy and scary stuff in our world. Thank you for keeping us aware of what's happening out there.

PS- I'm very thankful for Mark Mallett and other's who are willing to speak up about this outrage. It is just bizarre what people think is acceptable. Mark says it well in that article that Fatima posted and Trudeau should have his head examined. I found another image on the web of Trudeau and the topless girl and someone titled it "3 Boobs"!

When I'd googled Benedict's name I was wondering if he was still Pope; Bernard of Clairvaux was appointed to judge between a Pope and an antipope. Ugh.
