I think sometimes Catholic commentators get a little mixed up about the Sign from Fatima that announced the coming of the Second World War. Many think that the light which was seen as far south as New York City and which was seen by Hitler himself and his guests in his Wolf's Lair in Germany was a very intense Northern Lights. But in fact scientists at the time who studied this said it was NOT the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) and admitted they could not explain it.

In the last few days there have been very intense Northern Lights which have been seen as far south as the South of England. In the next few weeks , due to Intense Solar Activity more and more commentators are referencing this to the Great Sign from Fatima and the War in Russia.

But the 1939 Light was not the Northern Lights, so it's not the same thing. Although at the time, January 25th 1938 it was reported in the press as the Northern Lights, they were not. I notice people who saw this unknown light described it as, 'Red'.

So that's my two cents worth. :D:D

'In the entire region of the Alps, the population was very much intrigued by this strange spectacle. The sky was ablaze like an immense moving furnace, provoking a very strong blood-red glow. The edge of the furnace was white, as if the sun was about to come up. It was undoubtedly an aurora borealis, but an exceptionally vast one, according to Professor Pers, of the Faculty of Sciences at Grenoble.» 1'

    https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/strange-and-unknown-light

'On Jan. 25, 1938, fear struck the hearts of millions around the world. A bizarre phenomenon lit up the sky across Europe and could even be seen as far west as Bermuda. Many thought the world was ending. The next day, the newspapers were calling it an aurora borealis. But others remembered what Our Lady of Fatima had told the three shepherd children on July 13, 1917. She said, "When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light, know that it is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its crimes by means of war, famine and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father." Less than a month later, Hitler marched his army into Austria, and in September, he invaded Poland.

It's unclear whether or not St. Faustina saw this light, but in a Diary entry dated Jan. 25, 1938, she wrote, "I saw the anger of God hanging heavy over Poland. And now I see that if God were to visit our country with the greatest chastisements, that would still be great mercy because, for such grave transgressions, He could punish us with eternal annihilation" (1533).

Herman Carvalho of Clinton Corners, New York, didn't know much about Our Lady of Fatima or the mercy of God when he was just 7 years old. But living in a remote village in Portugal, he indeed witnessed this astonishing sight.

At dusk, he was outside playing near his mother who was doing chores. He wandered toward an iron gate leading to the road when he noticed something in the northern part of the sky. "What I saw I can never forget because it was so real," he said. "Far away as far as my eyes could see, I saw something coming up from the ground. It went up to the sky and was going up. But then I didn't look anymore and I started to play." Herman didn't think to tell anyone what he had seen.

About a half an hour later, while the Carvalhos ate dinner together, they heard people outside crying. "We went to the terrace, and we were going to ask the people why they were crying," he said.

Looking out over the surrounding olive trees to the other end of the landscape, they saw the sky burn a vibrant red. "It was as red as red can be ... like in flames," he said. The rest of the sky was completely dark.

"I remember my father saying, 'If this falls on top of us, we all die,'" he said. "It was scary, and I never saw that again in my life." As little Herman shook from fright, his mother took him to her bedroom to calm him down. She told him to look at a picture of Our Lady of Fatima that she had hanging in her room. She told him to pray.

"I believe it very much because I never forgot. I've told numerous people what happened that it's true," he said. "It was unbelievable."'

What Our Lady of Fatima actually said was:

«The war is going to end. But if men do not cease offending God... another worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI... Russia will spread its errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions against the Church...

«When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that it is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions against the Church and the Holy Father...» 2

Now if it was in fact the Northern Lights, it is not an 'unknown light' , because it can be explained.

maybe this could be fulfilled again but with an electromagnetic pulse attack because one of the effects of this type of nuclear attack at high altitude is that a colorful aurora borealis appears in the sky which leads these types of attacks to be called rainbow bombs. With the resulting chaos many nations would break into civil revolts in my opinion and the Russians could start their invasion of Europe.

Only God knows. We are in deep, deep water now. Am waiting for the Pope to head for Moscow. Hopefully not soon.

I was getting into the car Monday evening to go "over town" when I noticed a couple of really bright stars I never noticed before. Turns out they are planets ~

Jupiter and Venus to 'join' in the evening sky on Wednesday

Look to the west after sunset to see them almost appear as one

On Wednesday, you can see two of the brightest planets in the night sky come together.

If you're looking toward the west after sunset, you'll be able to see two bright "stars" in the sky: Those are actually Jupiter and Venus, and they've been getting closer and closer every night.

"It is an apparent close approach from our perspective, as the planets are in fact hundreds of millions of kilometres apart," said Paul Delaney, professor emeritus with York University's department of physics and astronomy.

"Nonetheless, winter sky watchers will have noticed the steady approach of these planets over the last several weeks. It peaks on March 1 — a great photo opportunity."

Venus — often referred to as the "evening star" or "morning star" depending on where it is in the sky — is the brightest of the two and can be found low in the west.

Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, can be found just above and to the left of Venus.

How and when to see them
One of the best things about conjunctions is that you don't need binoculars or telescopes to see them. If you do happen to have a pair of binoculars, however, you can get a great closeup view of the pair.

"Venus and Jupiter will be within about half a degree (or the width of the full moon) together in the sky," said Elaina Hyde, director of York University's Allan I Carswell Observatory.

"This means with most binoculars, you will be able to see them together."

What makes it even more interesting is that you can also see four of Jupiter's brightest moons. And if you take a look through a pair of binoculars over several nights, you will be able to see how the moons move night after night.

On Wednesday, however, three of the moons will be visible to the left of Jupiter, beginning with Io (closest to the planet), followed by Ganymede and then Callisto.

"At magnitude –2.1 and –4, the planets Venus and Jupiter are two of our brightest objects to see in the night sky," Hyde said in an email.

"Venus and Jupiter are somewhat common conjunctions, occurring about once a year, but if you have clear skies it should still be a very fun object to view."

Planetary conjunctions happen relatively often, like this one of Jupiter and Saturn, though they may not always be as close as the one coming up on Wednesday.(Shutterstock/AstroStar)
Delaney recommended people watch the planets a few days before and after the close conjunction on March 1, as it illustrates just how the planets move as they orbit the sun.

If your area doesn't have clear skies on Wednesday, Hyde said the observatory plans to livestream images of the event on its YouTube channel, weather permitting. The Virtual Telescope Project will also be hosting a livestream. You can also check your local astronomy clubs for any observing sessions.

"Any time the brightest planets, as seen from Earth, 'get together,' it is worth the look," said Delaney. "While these planets do enter conjunction reasonably often (every few years), I never tire of watching their dance with respect to the background stars."

I've noticed Venus and Jupiter too, they are so brilliant in the night sky. If my memory serves me correctly, I recall reading somewhere that these planets may have aligned to form the Star of Bethlehem.

    Hi Luan,
since I think you are interested in information about the effects of an attack with EMP weapons, you might be interested in this article.
Of course, I don't know if you are already familiar with it.

a very interesting fact that I discovered in this second article is that a nuclear weapon can be transported by a high-altitude balloon; considering the incidents of UFOs invading US airspace in recent weeks does this warrant any concern?
