That fire is horrific. The wind was howling last night down here on the southern slopes of that range, it really whipped that blaze into a frenzy. I heard the smoke blew up your way? I forget what the footnote stated exactly which everyone is concerned about but if AL did not change church doctrine then why can't the pope just speak for himself in these matters. I think that the article which Dean posted has made things worse. Too much interpretation is being done and not enough direct statements from the Pope to put an end to it all.

Apparently Erdogan has just announced that Turkish troops are in Syria not only to fight Kurds, but to eventually remove Assad from power. This potentially puts Turkey on a collision course with Putin at a time of an imminent Trump-inspired decline of enthusiasm for NATO on the part of the United States. It puts me in mind of those prophesies about Russia attacking Turkey with the eventual restoration of Constantinople.
Wouldn't it set a terrible precedent for the Pope to clarify something over a document which has already been issued?

I'm depending on memory only, but I recall reading of an Orthodox prophesy that Russia will conquer Turkey, restore Constantinople and convert most of the Turks. Needless to say, it is not a prophesy approved by the Catholic Church. Perhaps others here might know a little more?

I did a quick search on the net and I found something but I know it is not what I have read in the past and since Prussia is mentioned it confused me and thought I should ask DeGaulle. That is one prophecy of elder Paisios from Athos. So I as an Orthodox Christian have always read, heard and thought. I don't know anything about Jews in this connection.
And as the whole world enters the middle east...they slowly turn, surround and attack Israel. Then look towards the sky because the end is near.
