BBC is anything but neutral....really lean left. A shame. Perhaps it's the way they speak...w/ that kind of Brit flair with the language that maybe makes people believe otherwise...ha! Have changed over the years...but then so has the culture behind them and they become the enabling sound for the system to get spread.
Did you read the comments beneath the trailer on Youtube? People are in denial. Also, I read something about that girl after the film was made. I far as I can remember, someone close to her, either a brother or boyfriend, had a lot of influence over her and persuaded her to discontinue the exorcisms. God help her.
Yes I remember reading something similar to that about her situation. The pull of the prince of this world is very strong against our defective human nature. Perhaps down the line God will honor those true efforts made by His own though in such cases. What I found a little disheartening in that trailer though were the comments they inserted by now Bishop Barron about only those perhaps such as Fr. Amorth (and probably because he's well known for his own untiring help for those who truly suffer and also for keeping the only prayers that have any real effect upon the evil one) should get into such close quarters with the devil....and then he said that he, Barron, certainly would not do so. Now that may have helped the movie's attempt to say that the devil truly exists but it doesn't say much for the God given remedies. He seemed quite frightened of the idea of closeness to even a true exorcism. That may be why we're in the situation we're in today. Priests don't know and don't believe any more in the special gifts/powers they've received....even the good ones who seem perfect in every other way. So they have more fear than courage and should stay away for they might be harmed....and such men probably themselves wish to lean more on the medical/secular community. Of course if they don't believe or don't have the inner fortitude then of course they should not enter into such situations. But many poor victims then suffer because of that. Real exorcists have said that each time they truly enter into such encounters with evil, etc., they have something taken from them....there is much suffering involved for them. You can see that in such histories of really brave and holy/humble priests like the Cure of Ars and P. Pio. They were tough guys like Fr. Amorth! The devil hated them and caused them to suffer....but they didn't give up or fear because of their own sound and true faith....as frail as they both were physically. But then they gave themselves completely. The world misses such men today. And I think that's why Heaven Itself is entering more into our world today so we won't be abandoned any further. I mean if Our Lord Himself went through the 40 days and nights of fasting in preparation for His own mission why don't His followers emphasize the same necessary means to confront so much evil today? Most don't wish to be seen as "crazy"....so the world has already won before they even get started. And of course the people also must do same for the support of stronger priests. And having the mystical denied now for decades certainly doesn't help. It's like some foreign and forbidden world today.
And let's not forget the elephant in the room: the very many priests who agree with the Superior General of the Jesuits who says that Satan is not a real being but a "construct" of the early Christians. Satan is most effective when he convinces people that he doesn't exist.
