In most cases in history, the ordinary people did not fare well when they rose up against their leaders, despite the possibility they might have been well justified. Our Lord would not have wanted His loved ones to suffer in futile insurrections. He certainly gave full warning to the Jews who found themselves losing all forty years after they crucified Him. This may also have been the reason He told His disciples to obey their rabbis and to do what they told them, despite His spending so much of His ministry arguing with the scribes and Pharisees. Apparently, the Pharisees had a lot of power over the people and could do a lot of harm to them.
