I think this reminds me that we do not make our journey alone we make it as a people. Thye talk of the Church Militant. Which reminds me of an army. If some of our officers, our leaders go over to the other side for instance or the comrades who fight alongside us no longer believe the fight is worth the candle.

When Pope St John Paul sat in the Chair of Peter things were very different. We had a spiritual father we and leadership we could rely on . We had an army, so to speak that was lock stepped together. But this is no longer true at all.

I met a gentleman from Paris one time who fought against the Nazis in the French Resistance. I found this so interesting and thought it must have been wonderful for him with the people of France having his back so to speak against an occupying German power ;as in the films. Not so , he said. The French Resistance were a tiny, tiny minority, hated feared and despised by their fellow countrymen as terrorists, criminals and trouble makers. Everyone's had is turned against them. Even within the Resistance itself there were spies and informers and the Communist Resistance hated them even more than the Germans did.

The Church now reminds me of this. No longer an army marching in step but a tiny band that soldiers on. Betrayed and backstabbed on every side ,even by their leaders.

As to hell. Well I suspect that hell will be filled with very nice people. Very nice people who simply decided they did not want to follow God and do as He bid them. When we look at the saints , well in the eyes of the world they were often not nice people at all and that is why the world hated them.

More and more we become a small band of brothers and sisters....

  2. North Korea now making missile-ready nuclear weapons, U.S. analysts say

North Korea has successfully produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit inside its missiles, crossing a key threshold on the path to becoming a full-fledged nuclear power, U.S. intelligence officials have concluded in a confidential assessment.

The new analysis completed last month by the Defense Intelligence Agency comes on the heels of another intelligence assessment that sharply raises the official estimate for the total number of bombs in the communist country’s atomic arsenal. The U.S. calculated last month that up to 60 nuclear weapons are now controlled by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Some independent experts believe the number of bombs is much smaller.

Will Iran, now closer to N Korean leader than ever due to international agreement on sanctions, assist N Korea monetarily in order to obtain even these smaller nukes? In the Jewish teen's, Natan's, NDE he saw smaller nukes being used against Israel...some of which were either "frozen" in flight or kept from exploding after landing....even being "returned" to Iran by God's hand!

I fear that one day, Padraig, we few remnant will so offend the liberal Catholics that they will do away with us. Can we be excommunicated for holding conservative beliefs?

I think people are going to end up in one of two places , heaven or hell. At some level deep , deep down we all know where we are heading for. Not only that in our heart of hearts we have a pretty good idea were the folks around us are heading and they us. This is more true than ever in this present age were evil and good are more and more separating. Now there is a natural enmity between the citizens of heaven and the citizens of hell. Those who walk or run to hell depsise those who walk to heaven. As time goes on we ill see this more and more as they turn on us like rabid dogs.

But at present this reality is heavily veiled by the masks of civilisation, of being nice, of being social. But more and more the mask comes off. Those masks will come off just as much from the folks in the Vatican and the Bishops who are supposed to be our leaders as anywhere else. When the knife falls it will come first from behind.

Member theflyingnun posted the following article on another thread which is in alignment with what many are discussing on this thread. Here is the article,
http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=32287 "Cameroon: bishop was killed for opposing gay clerics, priest charges". It is difficult to imagine something like this happened but it seems as though it did happen. It makes me wonder how bad can things get.

It feels like the world is upside down at times. I often think about what Conchita of Garabandal stated, that many people have lost the sense of sin. In John 8, https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+8&version=DRA, Jesus reminds us that we are all sinners but he states, "Go, and now sin no more." This is what many of our shepherds appear to have forgotten to do, remind us that we are sinners and we need to sin no more.

John 8:12 Again therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, walketh not in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Yes. One thinks of judas. "These wounds I received in the house of my friends". I have always wondered til now why the scribes and Pharisees hated Jesus so much when everyone else was blown away by him. The more good he did the more they hated. Only nicodemus and joseph of arimathea had the grace to recognize him. That is not a big percentage. It is a mystery. To this day it is a mystery why some survive with faith in tact and the courage to go with Mary to the Cross and others who started out from the same place decide to leave or ignore or dislike or outright reject the faith. It frightens me and makes me even more sure that apart from Christ we can do nothing. He alone is our Rock and our Fortress. Without Jesus and Mary I too could be picked off. Any of us could. May we all receive the grace of final perseverance. When the masks reall

You report: Priest in drag on national TV says his 'talent' is God's gift

The following report is from a reader in Ireland who feels compelled to share this story with the rest of the Catholic world. Every time you think it can't get worse in Ireland ...

On Irish National TV (RTE 1) last Sunday night, we saw an Irish parish priest from the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore, perform a drag act as "Shirley Bassey." It was the third show in a series of "Francis Brennan's Tour of Vietnam" with 12 travellers including Fr. Richard Geoghegan, P.P. (Ballyneale, Tipperary).
Father Geoghegan says he is following the parable Jesus preached about not hiding your talents under a bushel but to go out and use them. He is saying that he has a talent for drag and he is using the drag talent that God gave him.

This is a complete mockery of what he is meant to stand for. But it's a common occurrence at weddings and celebrations he attends. He has a collection of wigs and high heels!
His bishop is Phonsie Cullinan (Bishop of Waterford & Lismore). No word from His Excellency on when, if ever, this priest will be suspended and banned from publicly scandalizing the faithful.

We need to pray for this priest!!!

I appreciate people posting stories from all over the world about the condition of our Church. There should not be a shred of doubt in anyone's mind that this is the pruning of all of the dead branches of our once beautiful tree. We will be very small and sparse until we are rid of disease. But, Lawdy, is this painful!

This reminds me of the old saying...'good people don't go to heaven, holy people do". The difference is, good people can and do many good things, but holy people do the will of God. The qualifier is whether one does things for love of God or love self interests.

  12. Obama caused this mess:

The Latest: Canada sends soldiers to migrant border crossing

.....Thousands of migrants are fleeing the United States for Canada via a remote back road in upstate New York.

The Canadians arrest the migrants as soon as they step across the border. But the migrants prefer to take a chance by seeking asylum in Canada rather than risk being deported from the United States.

Canadian police have set up a reception center on their side of the border. It includes tents where migrants are processed before they are turned over to the government agency that handles their applications for refuge.

Officials estimate that 400 people crossed the border at the site on Sunday alone.

Canada said last week it planned to house some migrants in Montreal's Olympic Stadium. It could hold thousands, but current plans only call for only 450.

The US has the THAD missile defense system in place there. Although, I don't know its usefulness against an ICBM class missile. They are a real threat and hard to combat because of the way they operate exiting then re entering the atmosphere. Not at all like a conventional weapon.

Also, it's really a shell game of sorts.

  17. This is like what the Jewish teen was told in his NDE.....that this "big" war will begin with a large "boom" and it will be recognized by the world as the beginning of real action of WWIII even though it really began at the moment the fraudulent nuke deal was ratified with Iran by the U.S./9-11-15! Iran and NK work together for this nuke ability cooperation for the goals of each. This smaller nuke now established by NK could be obtained by Iran and fulfill that NDE's prediction of small nukes coming from Iran against Israel....some of which would be frozen in the sky; others not exploding and being returned against Iran.

Two books you should read, both by the same pair:Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. The first one is "Inferno", and is a modern retelling of Dante's Inferno. Very entertaining, and easily read in one sitting at night. It's been very popular over the years -- one of those books that never made the top 10 of any list, yet has not been out of print for 25 years. After 25 years the pair finally wrote a sequel, called "Escape From Hell". In it, they describe how the horrors of hell are made much worse because of all the very nice people who are taking over the administration of hell, complete with committee meetings and quarterly projections and goals.
