You would be surprised, I have heard similar things about the Oblates out here. The seminarians all have to go to Ottawa now because of the nonsense they were getting into.

 

One certainly should be extremely cautious about anything one might read in the secular-liberal, mainstream media who pursue vigorously any agenda that is detrimental to the orthodox teachings of the Church.

I live in Bible Belt USA but a quick Net-Search of "VAMA - Voices Against Maynooth Abuse" tells me that serious problems exist at this seminary and probably with many past graduates!? There are many reasons for THE STORM and sad news like this is one of them.

I'm betting that after The Storm The Church will have married Priests & Nuns. God made us Human/Sexual and repressing the sexual leads to perversion ... it's not a matter of conjecture as 30 years and counting of Church Sex Scandals demonstrates. I alway express a sigh of relief, these days, when I hear of a Priest or Nun leaving The Church for someone of the opposite sex!

I think I might be misunderstanding your post. Are you saying it is a good thing for priests to be married? I hope this is not the case. The reality is that Homosexual and Pedophilia scandal has to do with the purposeful infiltration of the seminaries by communists/free masons (look up Bella Dodd) and not about whether good priests struggle with being faithful. If priests lived a life of prayer and sacrifice then they would be able to maintain their celibacy just as Jesus did and their sacrifice of celibacy would produce great fruit for the Church.

 

If we survive The Storm we will both know, exactly, what were the causes of many of our problems. I think we and all here will be very surprised about much of what we thought was "Truth, Certainty and Chiseled in Stone."

God made us sexual, but first and foremost he made us in his Divine image, which if properly understood, we are made for him, not for sex. Once sex has its proper formation in pro-creation and love uniting and not used as the world does for pleasure only, then there will be hope that our human nature will correspond to its original intent. Priest's and nun's marrying will not solve our sexual desires, it will keep us from understanding that giving ones life to Jesus is a gift, not a cross. Consecration to Jesus is a mystery of the creator, but it is a choice of the human soul. Many good and holy nuns have understood this in the past 2000 years and became some of the greatest saints for their chastity to Christ.

 

I agree with much of what you say although we can't blame it all on masons and communists. I suspect that a large part of it was down to a lack of faith, a lack of trust in God and poor oversight by a complacent hierarchy. Doing away with celibacy wouldn't solve the problem of lack of vocations or lack of suitable candidates for the priesthood. Married priests would present us with a whole new set of problems. At least the Archbishop is sending the seminarians elsewhere which is a start. We need to pray for the Church, especially for our priests and Bishops.

 

Whatever!! The Catholic Church is broken and bleeding and not a week goes by without another story of a Bishop Covering-Up or a Priest with Kiddy porn on his PC . Yup!! It may just be The Devil, Freemasons or "Beams" from Outer Space but ... I'm just guessing that it's a more basic Human condition!! Now!! The Catholic Church is not broken. A lot of people have decided to switch sides, or were never on Her side in the first place. Don't counsel despair.
