I'm starting this thread for posting devotions and resources that might help people in their own prayer. There is a wealth of prayer resources scattered in different threads and conversations. I don't mean to duplicate but maybe it could be helpful to have one specific place to have these resources available. I will start with a favorite only recently discovered: The SCRIPTURAL ROSARY. I'm amazed at the difference it makes for me to have one scripture line read with every Hail Mary. It really helps me to enter into the mystery with Jesus and Mary in a very real way. This is a version I find helpful, it is not rushed, neither is too slow. I've downloaded it and pray with it while I'm doing chores. The Joyful Mysteries: The Luminous Mysteries: The Sorrowful Mysteries: The Glorious Mysteries: The Litany of Loreto Gregorian Chant: Salve Regina Gregorian Chant:
Another favorite version of the Rosary: praying in Latin with Pope Benedict XVI: The Joyful Mysteries: The Luminous Mysteries: The Sorrowful Mysteries: The Glorious Mysteries: The Gloprious Mysteries followed by the Litany of Loreto: Salve Regina Gregorian Chant Solemn: Prayers of the Rosary in Latin: Signum Crucis: (Sign of the Cross) In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen. Credo in Spiritum Sanctum, sanctam Ecclesiam catholicam, sanctorum communionem, remissionem peccatorum, carnis resurrectionem, vitam aeternam. Amen. Pater Noster: (Our Father) Pater noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Ave Maria: (Hail Mary) Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. Doxologia Minor: (Glory be) Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen. O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria. V. Ora pro nobis, Sancta Dei Genetrix. R. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi. Oremus: Oratio ad Finem Rosarii Dicenda: (Prayer at the end of the Rosary) Deus, cuius Unigenitus per vitam, mortem et resurrectionem suam nobis salutis aeternae praemia comparavit, concede, quaesumus: ut haec mysteria sacratissimo beatae Mariae Virginis Rosario recolentes, et imitemur quod continent, et quod promittunt assequamur. Per eumdem Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen. Oratio ad Sanctum Michael: (Prayer to St. Michael) Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in praelio; contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperat illi Deus; supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae caelestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute in infernum detrude. Amen
Let me get a plug in for the Mother Of God Perpetual Prayer Garden. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0As1mSGkE0-oAdDl1ZHhKTFktdkhsVTd2WHdwakJiMlE&usp=sharing Try and find a slot for prayer mass or adoration, even take a half hour slot. We can all pray in unison throughout the world and show God our unity in prayer.
Here is a good list of prayers from fisheaters. http://www.fisheaters.com/prayers.html Seven Sorrows devotion

Our Lady, Undoer of Knots, recommended by Pope Francis http://www.viarosa.com/VR/OurLadyKnots/Rosaries+Chaplets.html
Praying the Divine Office with the Church. The Pope himself prays every day the Divine Office, as well as all priest and religious. In this page we have the written text and also the audio of the prayer recited that we can join by reading the text. http://divineoffice.org/ You have to choose the tab on the top of the Hour you want to pray: one of the shorter Hours [Daytime Prayer and Night Prayer] or the main ones, [Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer]. Compline is another name for Night Prayer, the prayer before the night rest. Matins is the old name for Office of Readings, when it was prayed at night. It has beautiful longer readings of Scripture and of Church Fathers and Saints. Beautiful hymns are sung at the beginning of every Hour.
there are a ton of prayer apps out there. I have one called the Laudate where I get the daily mass readings. I try to start each day with the daily readings, a reflection on them, and then a saint of the day all downloaded from this app. You can also find any prayer or novena on it as well as a great examination of conscience for confession prep. There are a ton of podcasts to pray all the myseries of the rosary in Latin or english. A podcast for the divine mercy chaplet. Interactive stations of the cross and pretty much any devotion. The iCatholicFM app has got podcasts of the rosary and divine mercy chaplet that I use as well as some of my local ewtn radio shows (like Divine Mercy for my Soul, Women of Grace, etc.), podcasts of their conferences, etc. The EWTN app has got the entire Bible audio on it. I also have an app called Rosario, which is a beautiful rosary app with lots of scripture and music to the rosary. And all of this stuff is free!! So, lots of apps and resources to help us on our spiritual journeys.
PotatoSack, could you explain a little more how are those resources available? Do you need to have some electronic device like a cell phone of whatever kind to be able to access them? Or can you get them in your computer? It's embarrassing to be so ignorant but to this day I have never had a cell phone, neither anything more sophisticated that came afterwards . When I ride the bus and see everyone frantic and connected to some device and earphones I have my rosary in hand and feel that it is my device of communication with .... God and Co. But I'm always willing to learn new things.
To run an app you do need a smart phone or tablet. My cell phone does not run apps or get email or anything like that. But I did decide to save enough money to get a tablet (less than $200 on sale) so I could access the internet and get apps. I only have a very old desktop so instead of getting a newer computer or laptop, I got a tablet. Apps will not work on your computer, since the operating sysem on a tablet or phone is different. Each app is designed for the operating system of a tablet or phone and they run independant of each other and never interact. They are very simple to use and download with usually just 1 click. Most apps seem to be games, but I only have prayer apps on my tablet. There are a ton of apps to help you pray and increase your spirituality. You can browse the different app stores to see what is out there. Go to Google Play Store or Amazon App Store to see what's available, read the reviews, etc. I'm not disciplined enough in prayer to not have prayer aids like the podcasts I mentioned. Plus the variety of what I can choose from keeps it fresh. So maybe some of the people listening to their phones were actually listening to their rosary on their phone!
Here is a link for the Laudete, which I believe is the #1 catholic app: http://www.amazon.com/AJ-Laudate/dp...e=UTF8&qid=1393561278&sr=1-1&keywords=laudete It really has everything you need. I was wondering if others use different apps for praying the rosary? I like the Rosario app, but was wondering if there are others that people like? this is the Rosario app I'm using: http://the-holy-rosary.android.informer.com/1.1/download/
