1. Is it ok to get married outside? 2. Someone sent me this question: why Medjugorje claim Our Lady's Birthday is on the 5th August? We celebrate in union with The Church on the 8th of September. Do they also have a different day for the Feast of The Immaculate Conception . We celebrate it on the 8th of December with the Catholic Church.
I don't have the answer for the second question Mother Superior, but with regards to the first.. DO you mean married outside the Catholic Church in a registry office or something? If one gets the permission of their parish priest and he gives him consent, then it is a valid marriage. However, if a special dispensation is not requested before getting married outside, then it is not a valid marriage.
If you mean an outdoor wedding . . . it's not okay. It's supposed to be done inside of a church building.
I thought it had to be in a church if the priest consents but they have to promise to bring up the children Catholic.
