Hi everyone, I am a new member, but have been following MOG for quite a while and greatly appreciate all the discussions and debates which help to build up our faith in these challenging times. I too am disappointed at the prospect of a victory for Biden, but my hope is in the Lord, the battle is His and we must continue in prayer, trusting in Him. In Jesus name we have the victory! We realize how important Trump's victory is for for the freedom of America and as America goes so does the world. My disappointment and that of all true Irish Christians in the vote for the introduction of abortion to Ireland was deep. I never in my wildest imagination would have thought that the Irish would vote for so hideous a crime. It was a deep wound for all of us. We had to pick ourselves up and keep on going, praying and trusting in God. I vowed afterwards that I would never vote for any politician or political party that supported abortion.
Perhaps for Nations it is as for people ? We often have to touch bottom before we bounce back tot he top? We have to have our own National Good Friday before the Resurrection ? Thankfully I'm very good at mentally tuning it out but my husband reminded me of this because he noticed it also and it just got to be a bit much, needless to say. Well, the good news is that Andrew Garbarino(R) won, yeah!!! And not only did he win, he won by a big margin. In addition, Rep. Lee Zeldin(R) was re-elected and Rep. Tom Suozzi(D) was not re-elected, so Long Island, New York is one of those places where we gained back a seat in the House, Woo-Hoo!!! And Staten Island, New York is another place where we gained back a seat in the House. I never really liked being partisan in the past but like many other members here have said I'm not voting for those supporting abortion on demand. The top 3 are our representatives from Long Island I mentioned above, district 1 is in Suffolk County and districts 2 and 3 are combinations of Suffolk County and Nassau County. The above race, as you can see, was close. I'm continuing to pray that this is the final result, it should be because 4k votes out of 270k is actually a lot imo. A couple of points... People speak of this election as being the most important. I am not convinced of this. 2016 I believe to have been more crucial still. Had Trump lost then we would have seen Hillary choose three Supreme Court justices. America might have been dragged into yet another war. We also need to be aware always that Biden cannot be a functioning president so from day 1 we will have a de facto Harris presidency. The American people did not elect her and I don’t think there will be much of a honeymoon. Interestingly I wonder how Hillary will like watching another woman steal the job she ‘was born for’. H will expect to be an eminence grise with all the respect that goes with it. The younger woman may not care for this. Still, sursum corda, this may never come to pass. Now. I must get out an email about the million Hail Marys.
