Wallace's moderating was a disgrace. As for Trump, I find it continually amazing that many people get so offended by his personality, and place more emphasis on that than the issues. So he interrupted a lot. So what. I can see it bugging some people, but the fact that they are so "appalled" by it, in light of all the horrific things going on in the world to be appalled about, astonishes me. Another poster mentioned about his performance at the debate inciting violence. I also find it amazing that the only ones exacting violence on our society in the name of politics, are those groups or individuals from the left wing, and yet people blame Trump for inciting violence. If the riots, the looting, the intimidation that's been going on in public places against members of the GOP since 2016, the shooting of Steve Scalise and attacking of Rand Paul was all flipped, and it was conservatives doing it, the media would be devoting every single second to putting them in the worst light possible. But, because they are on the other side of politics, that isn't so. It literally makes me sick to my stomach, the glaring double standard.
I have read and heard some ridiculous excuses for supporting the political wing of the global abortion industry but that takes the cake. Furthermore, I don't believe that any Catholic would be dumb enough to say it. Hitler was a baptised Catholic like Herod was Jewish and Judas an apostle. When it comes to the number of innocent lives taken, Hitler and Herod were boy scouts in comparison with the abortion industry. Biden is the abortion industry's mouthpiece and would be enforcer. Jesus warned that what we do to the least of His children, we do to Him. That makes Biden another Judas. You aren't pro-life. You are pro-death. Pro-cutting the spinal cords of the least of God's children. Pro-dismembering babies and selling their organs for profit. Pro-experimenting on their body parts. How is that different than the Nazis making lamp shades out of the skin of the Jews they murdered? Shame on you. You're a disgrace and you will answer before God for every innocent life cut short by Biden 's policies. If you are a baptised Catholic, you lie every time you stand up at Mass and say the Creed because if you truly believed that the Holy Spirit is the Lord and Giver of life, you wouldn't support anyone who thwarts the purpose God created humans - to know, love and serve Him here on earth and to be happy with Him forever in Heaven. Who are you or Biden to tell God that He has no right to expect the lives He created to know, love and serve Him on earth? And having been party to denying those millions of babies that right, do you really expect that God will say to you "Well done, good and faithful servant"? Remember that God is just as well as merciful. The cruelty inflicted on those babies demands justice - the kind of justice called for in response to offenses which cry out to Heaven for vengeance. If you aren't lying, you are fooling yourself because there is no possible "walk" you can walk to cancel out the millions of lives taken by the abortion industry you are supporting when you support Biden. Just reading your post makes me want to vomit. Jesus had some harsh words for hypocrites. Ponder on that next time you look in the mirror and as you cast your vote for that creep.
I am able to see why one might refuse to vote because of his pride and arrogance. Do you fear that given an additional term he will become another Hitler? May I ask you a second question after remembering the absolute horror of the millions killed in the death camps? Have not the butchering of 50 million babies here in the USA since 1973 far exceed the those of the Holocaust? And Biden and the Democrats seek to continue that agenda. Almost two years ago, Joe Biden was against funding abortions abroad, but caved in so as to position himself as a viable Democratic contender. I guess you are one that experienced all aspects of the Nazi regime. What was so horrible about the Nazis that you will seek to deny Trump another term? Was your family killed back in the '40s? Lord have Mercy! Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
I couldn't like this post, Kclark, because it strikes me as nonsensical. Could you clarify? You said: There is no such thing as Pro abortion. What would you call the Democrat position on abortion, but Pro-? They call it Reproductive freedom, but there is no freedom for the dead baby that results from such a choice. To support abortion is to be pro-death. Kcatholic, please speak clearly or else I will start to think you are playing games. Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Like Robert DeNiro and Bette Midler. Such wonderful personalities! It's also celebs like them who claim they want a dignified President...when they're anything BUT dignified.
Someone had asked what will it take to wake up Catholics to the truth of abortion. This poem is best I can do to reach out. I was pro- choice when I was younger. I voted that way and encouraged others to do so. I was living in mortal sin. I didn't care about God. It took Our Lady"s intercession to break through. When I realized that I had supported the killing of children....And perhaps helped kill my own through my partners using the pill... I had to face my guilt and the reality of my sin. It was wrenching. That's why it is so hard to break through to pro-choice Catholics. Subconsciously they often realize at some level the horror of thier actions. But it is too painful to face thier own sin. I don't think any logical arguement can convince them. It takes a real change of heart. God can break through, but He chooses to allow us to participate. Prayer is the answer. I am guilty of coming on too strong trying to argue someone into changing. This almost never works. Pro-choice Catholics need to know others have faced these deap buried sins. Anyone who visits a forum dedicated to Our Lady will eventually have to leave their pro-choice stance OR thier love of Mary behind. These Catholics need our prayers. Statements saying how could anyone commit these sins do not help. St Theresa of Avila teaches us every one of us is capable of the greatest sins given the absence of grace and the right circumstances. Jesus dined with sinners. We need to do the same and tell them of God's great mercy.
Well spoken! The line has been drawn, I am planting my feet with our Lord and our general in this war our Queen Mary.
We can love one another but it doesn't mean we have to follow that person who by his own words proclaims woman should be allowed to abort the babies. By his own words says that marriage is more than by one man and one woman. Knowing this and still casting your vote to back him is beyond belief. I am stunned and have no words...
I know that you mean well but the approach that we must change hearts is the lie that has marginalised and demonised pro-life advocates. It's a subtle way of silencing the voice for the voiceless babies. It's the "I'm Catholic but..." version of "Safe, legal and rare". We aren't talking about animals. These are human beings with an immortal soul created in the image and likeness of God whom nobody would countenance legalising their murder were they allowed to live long enough to be given a name or to have had a plastic band put on their little wrists by the medical staff. No other kind of evil is accepted on the grounds that we must change hearts. God's law is already written on the heart of every person. It's that milk and water, submissive attitude which has led us to the stage where we're a hair's breadth away from legalising the murder of born babies who don't meet a vague standard which the death cultists will set under the guise of potential quality of life. That's why Trump, for all his flaws, is a breath of fresh air. The Abortion machine has been given free rein for so long by the "we must change hearts" approach that they are terrified to have met someone who knows how to stand up to them. For goodness sake, we have reached the stage where it's considered noble to demonstrate to save animals from cruelty while the attacks on human life increase in volume and ferocity. There's finally a man in the most powerful job in the world who is willing to take measures to stem the abortion tide and people are turning on him because they don't like his manners!!! The same media hacks who glorify the worst in human behaviour are leading the charge against him. That alone should make people consider voting for him even if they have to hold their noses while doing so. When it comes to abortion, we need to take the approach that those who are not for saving the babies are against them and we need to support those who are willing to stand up for them. That "Jesus dined with sinners" line has to be the second most misused and abused phrase after "Judge not".
We must speek the truth with love. It is not one or the other...not truth or love. I was probally unclear that I do not believe in tolerating the sin of supporting pro-abortion politicians. The reason the advice to dine with sinners is so often used is because this attitude works to convert souls. It in no way shows a tolerance for sin. But a Catholic who is devoted to Our Lady and who reads this forum daily for years is not beyond reach. 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition 19 For though I am free with respect to all, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win more of them. 20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though I myself am not under the law) so that I might win those under the law. 21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law) so that I might win those outside the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. 23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.
Father Goring makes it clear," Don’t be stupid,’ Fr. Mark Goring said. ‘As Catholics, we are supposed to be defenders of life’ " Canadian priest urges US Catholics to avoid ‘mortal sin’ of voting for pro-abortion politician September 30, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – Fr. Mark Goring, a Canadian priest who became a YouTube sensation for his orthodox homilies and preaching, is warning US Catholics against the “mortal sin” of voting for politicians who champion the “slaughter” of children by abortion. Catholics who vote for pro-abortion candidates, he says, are, in the words of St. Paul, “stupid.” “I call Catholics who vote for this kind of politician ‘stupid Catholics’ and I don't apologize. I don't use this word often, but I do reserve it for this awful tragedy. Saint Paul says in Galatians chapter 3: “O stupid Galatians, who has bewitched you?’” “Brothers and sisters, we need to understand that if we vote for a politician who is going to keep the door wide open, and even widen the door to the killing of our most innocent, we're complicit in this awful slaughter and we have blood on our hands,” he said. “And one day, we will have to give an account for the fact that this awful scourge in our society, this awful injustice to the most weak, the most vulnerable, we were part of that,” he continued. “As Catholics, we are supposed to be defenders of life,” he added. Goring said that when St. Paul calls the Galatians stupid “it’s because he loves them.” “He’s a father to them and he wants to see his children spend eternity in heaven,” he said. For the same reasons, Father Goring admonishes the Catholic faithful: “Don’t be stupid.” “You need to stand for what is true. Catholics must rise up, stop compromising, stand for the truth, defend life, because life is short and eternity is long.” ----------// Applause!!!
Yes, that passage from 1 Corinthians has been used to justify tolerance of all sorts of evil by Catholics. Read on to Chapter 5 of the same Epistle and then tell me how that squares with the Jesus ate with sinners approach to Catholics who support evil. I see Catholics condemning non-Catholic Trump while making all sorts of excuses for supporting self-proclaimed "devout" Catholic Biden. That priests and Bishops do it tells us all we need to know about the main movers and shakers of the great apostasy in the Church. I don't believe that any Catholic on the planet is unaware that abortion is an intrinsic evil crying out to Heaven for vengeance. Changing the law will stop American Cafeteria Catholics passing off evil as healthcare and supporting their government funding it in developing countries. There's nothing loving about letting them perpetuate the lie that what's legal is good or tolerable simply because it is legal. And there's nothing loving about claiming the high moral ground by voting third party knowing that more babies will die while their also-ran candidate fades into oblivion. Along with the death cult, there's the question of freedom of religion to be considered. Here's what the Democrats like to keep in-house but is occasionally let slip by some loose lipped, party operative or via the likes of wikileaks: https://www.yahoo.com/news/biden-st...i26tagAZw98PK9TQudTszbVOFcEB6WGztNfVZMtHP6pLk Any American Catholic who considers him/herself orthodox should be very afraid of the Democratic Party especially one headed by a baptised Catholic who despises them. After all, as we were told earlier in this thread, Hitler was a Catholic. Did that make St. Maximilan Kolbe's death more merciful? Trump might continue to implement pro-life policies in a second term, and he might not. Based on what he has done so far, he deserves the chance to try. There is absolutely no doubt where Biden stands. Abortion is the greatest evil of our time. You Americans have a real chance to help turn the tide and all you have to do is mark an X on a ballot paper. When I see people say they are sending a message by voting third party, I'm remided of that story about the couple waiting for God to rescue them from the floods as they refused all offers of help. The Lord's name won't be on the ballot paper. How do they know that Trump is not the first responder in this abortion and freedom of religion emergency?
