Praying for enemies

Will definitely pray for Cardinal Pell and Australia.

 

This theme is taken up in Scripture. Jesus sent all the Disciples out to teach in pairs. However He did mention to them that if a City did not accept them that they were to, 'Shake the Dust of their feet; and leave them.'

Matthew 10:14

If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.

I think actually I recall as a child a priest telling us that thing of , 'Shaking the dust of your feet', was actually a Jewish kinda ritual that it meant a kind of formalised turning your back , kinda like saying, 'Well if you don;t want to but I don;t want to sell. Kinda thing.

I must check.

Hmm it seems to be a kinda formal action..a leaving them to God for Judgement.

Life sometimes reminds me of those old wooden war ships that used to sail the seas and when they met other warships they blast away at each other in battle.

I remember one time picking up a lady in my taxi at nighttime. She was dressed in a kind of hippy New Age kind of way, flowing robes and loads of clinky jewellery. ANyway I ws at once slightly on my guard with her as I sensed she was witch. We never spoke, but when the cab stopped she said out of the blue,

'I sense I am in the presense of a Great Soul'.

She then went on to tell me that my two recently dead brothers were with her. (she was right my tow brothers had just recently died.

That I had had three sisters and seven brothers (spot on).

That I loved all animals but I had a special love for dogs (Dead centre).

She was an utter an complete stranger. The chances of her getting these things right were billions to one.

What had happened was she had a Spirit of Divination in her and the Evil Spirit was making a play towards me.

All this reminds me of the old Chinese saying,

'Treat a tiger like a tiger'

 

Look at all the ways this poor man is being nailed to the Cross.

He is in jail.

He is innocent.

He is elderly in jail.

He is in jail as a Child Molestor.

His name is muck.

He has been abandoned by the Vatican.

He has been set up.

The media have crucified him.

It doesn't get any worse than this.

Prayers, poor, poor man.

 

Yes. A white martyr right before our eyes.

 

I must say he shows very, very remarkable strength under the terrible circumstances. Very,very few people would bear up so well. I think this is one of the great signs of his innocence and personal holiness.

I am confirming what you posted about the Lord’s admonition to shake the dust off our sandals and move on if we are not received by another. We should cease all striving with the enemy, especially now.
I received the Word this morning in prayer about ceasing striving with the enemy and dusting off our sandals. Then I read your post. It’s time. God is getting ready to act.

Striving with the enemy...it's exactly what these people want. They live for fighting and striving. They crave and relish trouble, reactions, etc.

I say deprive them.

 

Oh my, that was one frightening encounter! There is a woman from New York who must have this spirit of divination, and she makes a boat load of money from it. She has a reality show that airs here in the states, and a camera crew follows her around. She charges big fees for her 'readings'. She says her information comes from 'spirit'. She considers herself a Catholic, but I think this poor woman needs to see an exorcist.

I think these readings tend to be a bit like Scorpions . Since they are from the devil they are full of half truths . They have enough truth to lure people in and then the stinger goes in.

One thing we always see with magic is the lure of power. People want these gifts because they are Proud. It is the total reversal of true mystical gifts which are brought on the Winds of Humility.

Blessed Archbishop Fulton Sheen spoke of this one time. He says when the devil first comes he comes as a Defense Attorney an Angel of Light. Then when we have Fallen for it he becomes a Prosecution Attorney accusing us before God.

You often see this at things like Seances or using Ouji Boards , it starts of well and harmlessly enough, then the poor fish swallows the worm it becomes the Monster out of the Closet.

Someone without Pride will not be lured in. Pride is what causes people to be drawn in. All Witches are full of pride.

This is their downfall.

Excellent observation Padraig. From my experience I would say you speak absolute truth. It arises i think from that ancient rebellion "non serviam"--desiring to control. Rebellion is like witchcraft to the Lord it says in the Old Testament. No wonder they go hand in hand.

It is the exact same as Eve in the Garden of Eden, when she was Tempted by the Serpent to eat of the Tree of Knowledge. Magic being the New Tree of Knowledge.

Its quite amazing how many modern Practitioners of Magic there are. Exorcists report the use of such things as Curses as causes of all kinds of evils. In countries such as Mexico they have become endemic, everywhere. This would not have been so if people had not lost their Faith in God.

As G K Chesterton observed, those who do not believe in God will believe in anything. Including the aid of the devil in the use of Magic. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Gnosticism.

 

Yes, although true true wickedness requires full knowledge, not ignorance. I would say it is a true path into the dark. I beleive they get wickeder and wockeder as they go on. Just as those who follow the Lord should grow holier and holier.

However I suspect those who follow the ways of Magic do not ,as a rule live too long. The demons pant to drag them off to hell and their own evil consumes them. A hazardous buisiness. Its kinda auto destruct.

I would not expect to be drawing a Pension if I followed the Black Arts.

 

Yes, the more I think about it, the more I think perhaps at this point, our evangelization should involve letting people come to us, rather than going out to preach to others, considering the state we are in right now.

I'll still pray for enemies of the Church, and the conversion of people and nations. But right now I guess I'll people I keep running into on the streets and speaking with, like that guy Damian I mentioned in another post.

 

Professor Peter Kreeft and one other guy I heard on LifeSire the Van Maren show; said that they think the West is in such a bad state right now, that the only thing that can save it is a mass exorcism of sorts.

There is at least one, possibly two neighbors in my townhouse that appear to be into some kind of Neo-Pagan, New Age type believes, as one of them has some kind New Age-looking bumper sticker on his or her car, and the same or another neighbor has pagan-looking Egyptian statues in her front window. Also, one of the two former inhabitants of my own unit had a book on magic in her bedroom. (I think it might have actually been the very room I'm currently typing this in.)

I've got my unit blessed by my parish priest and consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and hopefully the Immaculate Heart of Mary, (there is a bit of confusion involved in getting the statue of the Immaculate Heart blessed and put up.) and everything seems fine now. But I would still like to take up the habit of saying the Chaplet of St. Michael daily in the near future.
