I always remember a psychiatrist being asked about politicians and what he thought of them. He replied with a question, 'What do you think of a person who goes round and stands on a soap box telling everyone he knows better than anyone else all the answers to our problems and knows how to fix them all and wants a leadership role to do this?' Well the answer is that , of course you would be very wary of such a person. That they have a huge ego, filled with pride. I am starting to wonder about the yellow vest movement spreading throughout Europe if people have just had a belly load of it all? It ties well in with Catholic Prophecy which speaks of Universal revolution...and the same sentiments that led to President Trump being elected in the USA. There are now yellow vest protests, many of them very violent, in France, Belgium , the Netherlands, Greece and the UK. There appears to be strong media clamp down on reporting. These are very ordinary people , just like me and you. It makes you wonder. It really does.
It's so curious; no one really knows exactly why these people are protesting. At first it was about planned increased fuel prices to deal with, 'Global Warming'. But these plans were soon withdrawn. The sense I have is that people are protesting because they think they are having really miserable lives. That's a pretty broad brush. People have grown to accept Governments as their God. For when you no longer accept God Governments become your God. That's fine when the goings good. But what happens when things go bad? It has to be someone's fault; someone has to be to blame and that someone will be sure to be the Government/ God. ..and so you get unrest and Revolution. Is it any wonder that at mass we pray so often for Peace. I tried to count one time how often at mass we pray for peace but lost count. It is only in the middle of a riot or a war you come to realise what a wonderful thing Peace is; what a huge gift. They say when Jesus was born was the only time in the whole history of the world when there were no wars anywhere on Earth. He really was the Little Prince of Peace. I love the old Chinese saying, 'Government is more to be feared than a hungry tiger' . Making a hungry tiger your God is just utter foolishness. But, then again as it says in the Book of Sirach, 'The Fool has said in his heart , there is no God'
I am putting up a series on prayer ; starting with the Dark Night of the Soul. I know most people will not be too interested but if it even helps one person, then that's fine.
