I accept the Doctrine of Infallibility. Just as I accept Vatican 2. What I have difficulty with , as did St John Henry, is their misinterpretation. By that I mean the false idea that we could not have a bad or evil Pope who did and said false and evil things. I suspect many, many Catholic falsely believe this and so are being misled.
Yes honesty is needed on PF if we are ever to recover from his disastrous pontificate. I prayed to St. Michael for his conversion.
Yes especially at this moment, poor man. I have no bitterness towards him. Whatever he has done. He has all my prayers. May he be saved the Eternal Flames.
The Greatest Pope since St Peter is on the way, firm and kind. The promised Great Pope. Till then, may the next Pope just be a good Catholic, who actually has Faith. Please God, not that we deserve it for our sins. But at least, whosoever it is , let him be a good Catholic and a man of prayer. Just a good catholic. Even if he just stays quiet and does nothing very much but pray. What a blessing. Someone ,a good Catholic gentleman who prays and remains silent. Even that. Grant us oh Lord just a bit of peace and quiet, to recover, if nothing else.
It's interesting that two of the worst kings of Israel were on the throne during the birth and the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, respectively. The kingdom of Israel serves as a figure of the papacy in both its best and worst moments. Light shines most fully where there is darkness.
God called Salvation to His people from the little ones. Moses. David. The Prophets. The Judges. Nazareth. The Marian Apparitions It will be the same thing this time round , the Great Pope will come from an obscure and unexpected place. Little, humble and not of the Cardinals, or Bishops, or even of the priests. For even as by their cowardice they have rejected Him, who is their Lord, in their choices, so, too He too will reject them, in due season, by His Own Great Choice.
What I meant about not being a fan of the pentarchy is that : Pentarchy Pentarchy was a model of Church organization formulated in the laws of Emperor Justinian I of the Roman Empire. In this model, the Christian Church is governed by the heads of the five major episcopal sees of the Roman Empire: Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. Wikipedia In simple language, the heads of the 4 major episcopal sees refused to honor the Primacy of the Pope, the Bishop of Rome. That caused a schism. I do not want to see a return to the pentarchy.
https://aleteia.org/2025/02/16/doct...ily-&utm_content=Newsletter&utm_term=20250216 We pray for Francis, our Pope. May he and all the ill feel their companionship with the suffering Christ. Grant him rest and health. Amen
You all need to remember God is in control and the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. Whoever is pope was ordained or allowed by God for the greater good of the Church.
God is always capable of making Good out of Evil, but while He might have allowed the pontificate of Pope Francis, He could not have 'ordained' it as, being Absolute Good, He logically could not use Evil to achieve Good, which the Church has traditionally taught is a confusion of ends with means. Put more simply, He allows us to choose evil, but He will do no Evil Himself. You need to remember that...
His life seems to be connected to Saint Joseph in several ways: his father's name was the same, his inauguration Mass as Bishop of Rome took place on March 19, and one of the most glorious events of his pontificate was the proclamation of the year dedicated to the Saint.
A more detailed report on the Pope's health mentions a polymicrobial infection; however, he is still able to eat small meals. If the Vatican is being completely transparent with the information released, this is the current situation. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/pope-francis-spent-quiet-night-hospital-ansa-says-2025-02-17/
