Plans for the near future

I'm having a hard time working on, and planning for the near future.

I'm still looking into becoming mayor of my town, but there are a couple things I am thinking about, including the simple the fact that I either won't be able to apply in time or simply won't be applicable. If it is God's will for me please pray that I do keep going and get everything done that needs to be done for that.

But getting back to the general topic of this prayer request, there are other things I'm trying to figure out as well. A lot of the women I'm meeting on CatholicMatch are from the US, including Idaho, which, from what I've heard, is a very good state to be a Traditional Catholic in; maybe I'll move to the US, I mean, it would be great if maybe my future spouse is right here in town and I'll meet her soon, when I finally go out and look for a local job, but all this rambling is beside the point.

On top of all that, I'm now wondering if maybe, I should just get into homesteading, there is a small town to the north of me which is surrounded by a lot of farmland, it has a parish dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes which, maybe will be better then the one here in town. Maybe I can move there and start farming and maybe find my future wife there.

All this, in addition to working on my ideas of becoming an author and publishing some of my works, and I just don't know where I should go, and what I should work on. I'm okay with not knowing where I'm going, I know I should trust in God and am trying to do that; but I'm having a hard time trusting myself, I'm worried that may waste to much time going on some wild goose-chase and miss where I am supposed to be headed. I need prayers that I can focus on what I need to focus on, and keep going in the direction God wants me to go in.

Some good thoughts, RW. A couple reactions: unless you have some farming experience or know-how I would be cautious about rushing in. Do you love animals, shoveling manure, getting dirty, long hours, physical labor, etc..? I remember my 3rd son, Christopher, got a fall job once during the haying season. It was tiring work and he definitely needed to shower when he came home from the fields.

I hear there are a number of Catholic enclaves in Idaho worth looking into.

Some of those things were actually the things that made me not want to get into farming in the past. Although even before I seriously considered this, I have thought about hiring myself as a worker on other peoples' farms; I might do that before getting my own homestead.

Right now I'm thinking about waiting at least a year before looking into homesteading, I'll have to at the very least, save up money for the equipment needed.

See, Lord, you are my King and my God.
Whatever of value I learnt as a boy
I now place at your service.
    Whatever I read, or write,
whatever I speak or compute, let these skills serve you.

Okay, I'm now 98% I want to take up farming or homesteading; I don't mind the hard work and getting dirty that's involved with it, I'm a man, it's what we do.

The things I'm concerned about now regarding this plan, is getting connected with the local farming and homesteading community here, (and, please Lord, my future wife if she's not on Catholic Match) and finding land, particularly land near a good Catholic Church. Please pray for these things, I'll be praying for them until Lent, in which I'll be switching most of my prayer intentions towards reparation for all the major blasphemies and sins of this time; and the conversion of poor sinners.
