mothersuperior7, who invited me to this forum, mentioned about 'places of refuge' for families to survive the coming cataclysm. This was a big motivator to join this forum. I'd like to hear from you guys regarding this issue. If the information is too sensitive, please feel free to send me a private message. Also if you want to know more about me, I'd rather share it with you in a private message as well. Yours for the freedom and exaltation of our Holy Mother the Church, Saint Olaf
Olaf, Welcome! I know this link might seem evasive, but I firmly believe all physical refuges must be linked to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. First the spiritual, then the physical: http://www.markmallett.com/blog/the-rapture-the-ruse-and-the-refuge/#more-15910 Now, let the fun begin! Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Yes. It is the Immaculate Heart of Mary that must triumph. This isn't an endorsement of the website you linked to (I don't know very much about Mallett). But certainly the Immaculata is our Refuge!
Welcome St. Olaf. I am sending you a place a refuge that I believe I was shown when I directly asked God about last year. Discernment is a must of course. I have written about my experience on this before on here about how this discovery came about and I will look for the thread so you can read it again. http://motheofgod.com/threads/your-home-coming-chaos.4874/page-4#post-46275
Welcome Saint Olaf! You might want to check the Deacon John Martinez, Jr. messages thread about refuges: http://motheofgod.com/threads/deacon-john-martinez-jr-messages.6300/
"Come to me, all of you, my little children. Come to me, because you have need of being consoled, encouraged, protected, defended and saved by your Heavenly Mother. For this purpose, I have built for you the Ark of the New Covenant, into which you must enter to attain the new times which are now awaiting you. For this purpose, I invite you again today to enter, one and all, with joy and with immense hope, into the safe refuge of my Immaculate Heart." (To the Priests, Our Lady's Beloved Sons - Fr. Gobbi, #584 12/8/96) Our Blessed Mother mentions the "refuge" 127 times in Fr. Gobbi's book. Most important is message #561 - "In My Safe Refuge". God bless you.
Get off the coast if possible. Pray about it. Don't live in a flood plain, don't live on an earthquake fault, don't live on a cliff or possible landslide area. Don't live downwind of an oil refinery. Be ready to die everyday and stay in a state of sanctification. Study our Lord's Divine Will by Servant of God Luisa Piccaretta. Read scripture and attend Divine Liturgy as often as possible. Be in the world, but not of the world. There are communities forming like Ave Maria in Naples Florida,Does anyone know of any others?? http://www.ewtn.com/library/CHISTORY/movecoms.htm On EWTN there is a list of communities within the Church; I don't know how up to date it is. http://www.ic.org/directory/traditional-catholic-community/ (googling catholic sustainable communities I got this and more) http://www.ic.org/directory/bethlehem-farm/ (looks promising in the Appalachian mountains) http://redcardigan.blogspot.com/2007/07/hidden-dangers-of-intentional-community.html (interesting blog)
I have no idea about physical refuges and will defer to those who know more about this but I guess for more as an East coast mother, wife, and business owner with others very dependent on my fulfilling the duties of my state in life it is not practical to move. I trust in Jesus that the refuge of His Mother's Immaculate Heart will bring me and my family to Heaven- even if we run to safety we will all have to stand before God and account for our lives here on Earth. Maybe for some of us it will be saving others and bringing them to physical places so they can ultimately be saved, for others it will be faithful witness where we are planted so when people start to ask questions particularly come the Illumination should it happen in my lifetime I will be able to help explain what this is all about. I don't know the world grows more dark and yet there are bills to pay and young adult kids and a husband who need me.
Hello Saint Olaf, I live in Ireland... there are not too many places to run to here, we are a bit small, so I don't worry about a physical refuge now. I just stay put and have decided to let God sort things out. If he wants me to live in a physical refuge, then that's OK, but if I am to die (although I don't think I am), then I just want to be ready to meet him. like Lifesong's post above, I keep on doing the one hundred and one things I do everyday and just trust in God to look after me and mine. Whatever he decides is OK with me. In the meantime, bills still have to be paid, food cooked, house cleaned and all that. Its like living in two worlds at the same time.
With the level of persecution that I believe is coming, which some of the prophecies state will surpass the persecution of the early Church, I'm afraid living in a publicly known Catholic compound will just make it more convenient for those who come to round up believers. It's important to pray against fear, and not take any survivalist measures that we dream up ourselves. We must be guided by the Holy Spirit, and trust the Blessed Mother to protect us in the way she sees as best.
Hello, I am the party pooper No-where to hide...you become the refuge and God will take care of everything. May Gods Will be Done
As others have said God has plopped me in the midst of the world to be His beacon of light. Our Blessed Mother wraps me in her protective mantle and I find refuge in Jesus' Divine Mercy and continue on doing the next right thing. More will be revealed
I think St. Olaf knows that the center of our Lady's Immaculate Heart is his family's refuge. However, IF YOU ARE CALLED, then asking and going forward is the thing to do. St. Olaf is obviously fluid enough in his job and with his family to know what he can and cannot handle. I know many families who have had to move because of husband's job etc. that complain that they left the 'most wonderful Catholic community in the whole world.' They weep for companionship and like minded people to be near. (not to mention good orthodox priests!) There is nothing wrong with wanting to be near communities. I for one would rather die a martyr's death defending my priest and my community standing together as one! Remembering that whether it is in the countryside, in the city, in the desert, we are all called to be domestic churches. If St. Olaf has reached out to ask us, who are a diverse community in itself, then by all means....lets HELP HIM! That door that you open just MIGHT BE GOD'S WILL FOR HIM!
"I for one would rather die a martyr's death defending my priest and my community standing together as one!" Amen to that, sister. My wife and I have been praying and discerning what to do, when to do it, should we stay, should we make plans on where we'll go when (not if) the time comes. No answers yet, it's in God's hands and we will stay or go if He tells us, I just hope He hasn't already told us and we missed the sign.
I wish I knew of a refuge. I only know of Deacon John Martinez far away in Texas. I have always offered any friends to join us in our humble dwelling. Blessed by holy priests. Anchored by 4 medals from Medjugorje and supplied with food and blessed candles and a nurse and an engineer! My father always says my husband could knit a Volkswagon out of a ball of steel wool
I do feel that we're all doing the right thing by preparing spiritually first and just being aware and talking to one another. I've been reaching out to close Catholic friends in the area. I feel Charlie's message of just being a sign of hope and taking the next right step are very profound and true. One moment at a time, no fear, spiritual guards always up and being reinforced through rosaries, prayer, and the Sacraments, and when the Lord says it's time, we'll know what to do.
You know I really like this post. It reminds of Saint Pope John Paul 2 ..perhaps his very best counsel of many great counsels. 'BE NOT AFRAID' If your time comes ..and it will for all of us one day it will come. If it does not come at a certain time even if we fell to hell itself we would be safe. I got a word from God in prayer a few weeks ago when I began to think too much. 'I have always been with you in the past do you think I will not be with you in the future' Then I laughed. Of course He will. I am not afraid. I am very at peace and joyful We are not chickens we are Christs eagles. Not headless chickens. be not afraid. For goodness sake. This is way, way over the top and shows a huge lack of Faith. May God forgive you. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
