It was amusing to watch the face of the Mayor of Phoenix, Kate Gallego's , face as the Pastor spoke. It looked like she was going to chuck up. Which just goes to show that he was right over the target. The US Catholic Bishops , it has to be said have taken a much firmer, finer position than any others in the West. I notice for instance that the new Chairman of the US Bishop's Conference , Michael Burbidge has upheld the ban on Nanci Pelosi receiving Holy Communion. The US Bishops and US Catholics generally appear to by the real fly in the ointment to the current Modernist Vatican Regime. Bless the USA for this dear Lord; as I am sure you already are.
The Baptist Southern Conference in the USA, you know originally supported abortion but eventually repented and recanted, though no one ever talks about this anymore. I see too that the Mormons have changed their position very radically and now support same sex, 'Marriage'. I am sure in the very nature of things this must be very,very hard for individual Mormons to stomach. This reminds me of the old hymn, 'In Christ Alone'.....and the words..'All else is shifting sands'.
I am so glad that Bishop Michael Burbidge has upheld the ban on Ms. Pelosi receiving Communion. That's a huge grace. However, he chose to eliminate many TLM's in his diocese. That is a fly in the ointment because he is not alone in doing so. BUT, overall, you are right, Padraig. God is blessing us in the USA.
Bishop Burbidge has the diocese in Northern Virginia. Cardinal Wilton Gregory is leading the Archdiocese of Washington DC and he has allowed Ms Pelosi to receive Communion. It’s very possible that Ms Pelosi would attend Mass in Northern Virginia because it’s a suburb of DC. She cannot receive at her home in California because Archbishop Cordileone has banned her.
