I AM medical help; I know how to treat it fortunately (if it’s even cracked. I’m not spending the $$$ to get an X-ray for them to confirm something I already strongly suspect, and I know how to palpate a rib fractured badly enough to puncture a lung. Fortunately this one isn’t.)

Not an MD, just a podiatrist, but I learned how to care for a cracked rib during my surgical residency. Rest, NSAIDS, breath deeply occasionally despite any pain to prevent onset of pneumonia.

Women deacons is against St. JPII’s infallible teaching. If Pope Francis signs this, he’s guilty of public, obstinate and manifest heresy. Then can we end this charade that he is our pope?!? 09D4AFD4-46E2-406C-B32A-E92305A20735.jpeg

I am horrified, but must keep respect for the Chair of Peter, instituted by Christ Himself. The office is not vacant. Francis is the Holy Father for whom I pray mercy. Our own Fatima earlier composed a fine post. We must keep the big picture in mind. Use your grief/anger as a prayer motivation for the Synod's closing Holy Mass: no more Pachamamas!:notworthy:

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Brian, Thank you, this would be the answer to our prayers.

I saw the interview of Cardinal Mueller by Raymond Arroyo on the World Over this past Thursday night when he stated that St. JPII's teaching on women clergy including women deacons is dogma but I was a bit confused. Can you explain this better to me, I mean how it is dogma? I don't doubt Cardinal Mueller, I just want to understand it a little better. I do think that Bishop Kraulter does not interpret it that way, what are your thoughts on that. Thank you.

PS - I didn't see this post of yours and posted about this too on the other Amazon synod thread.

PPS- I also posted some articles about this dispute over deaconesses on the other thread too. I suppose that I am asking you how you think that this will play out.

Oh, as far as health issues go I am dealing with a big one which became apparent around the time that Pope Francis was elected but a small and a little strange thing happened to me about a week before the synod began. I did a tiny bit of gardening, just planting some Spring bulbs in some pots in my yard and I developed a blister in the middle of my right palm. When I realized that I had it, it was broken already. I immediately thought of the passion of Our Lord.

The problem here is the liberals are saying Pope St. John Paul II's definitive statement on only men being ordained is not infallible because the CDF under Pope St. John Paul II clarified when asked that he was not making an ex-cathedra statement.

Alternatively, they are also trying the tactic of separating the deaconate from the 3 tiers of Holy Orders by using the slight modification Pope Benedict made. I think you posted the article where Archbishop Ganswein said that Pope Benedict was not separating the deaconate.

P., Yes, I did post that but how can one group of clergy say that was/is ex-cathedra (then dogma, right?) and the other say that it was not? Thank you.

PS - There is no book that lists all of the dogmas, correct? I am obviously still confused on this, although we have discussed a bit in the past.

Um...because one group is orthodox and one group is heterodox. ;)

People can say whatever they want, it doesn't make it so.

I don't know if there is a book listing all of the dogmas, but there is probably a general list online somewhere. It is a complicated subject. Not everything that is infallible is listed as ex-cathedra. There are something like 32 levels to the Magisterium ranging from what the Pope says over dinner to an ex-cathedra statement and everything in between. I think the Benedict Center has a good primer on the Magisterium online. Also, I believe 1P5 did a good one a couple of years ago.

Bishop Schneider condemns Pachamama statue as ‘new golden calf’ in open letter
    Athanasius Schneider, Pachamama, Pope Francis

ROME, October 26, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Bishop Athanasius Schneider has today issued an open letter forcefully condemning the use of the Pachamama statue at the Amazon Synod in the Vatican.

In the Oct. 26 open letter, Bishop Schneider is also calling on all Catholics — bishops, priests and laity — to offer acts of reparation, protest and correction for the use of the Pachamama statues, which he calls a “new golden calf.”

Bishop Schneider writes: “Syncretism and paganism are like poisons entering the veins of the Mystical Body of Christ, the Church.”

    Thank you, Lumena!

Here is a prayer of reparation which Bishop Athanasius included in his open letter. If you read this post, please pray this from the depths of your heart!

“Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, receive through the hands of the Immaculate Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary from our contrite heart a sincere act of reparation for the acts of worship of wooden idols and symbols, which occurred in Rome, the Eternal City and the heart of the Catholic world, during the Synod for the Amazon. Pour out in the heart of Our Holy Father Pope Francis, of the Cardinals, of the Bishops, of the priests and lay faithful, your Spirit, who will expel the darkness of the minds, so that they might recognize the impiety of such acts, which offended your Divine majesty and offer to you public and private acts of reparation.

Pour out in all members of the Church the light of the fulness and beauty of the Catholic Faith. Enkindle in them the burning zeal of bringing the salvation of Jesus Christ, true God and true man, to all men, especially to the people in the Amazon region, who still are enslaved in the service of feeble material and perishable things, as they are the deaf and mute symbols and idols of “mother earth”, to all people and especially to the people of the Amazonian tribes, who do not have the liberty of the children of God, and who do not have the unspeakable happiness to know Jesus Christ and to have in Him part in the life of your Divine nature.

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you the one true God, besides Whom there is no other god and no salvation, have mercy on your Church. Look especially upon the tears and the contrite and humble sighs of the little ones in the Church, look upon the tears and prayers of the little children, of the adolescents, of young men and young women, of the fathers and mothers of family and also of the true Christian heroes, who in their zeal for your glory and in their love for Mother Church threw in the water the symbols of abomination which defiled her. Have mercy on us: spare us, O Lord, parce Domine, parce Domine! Have mercy on us: Kyrie eleison!”

Safe in the Barque of Peter!
