Occasionally at Mass I see a guy who always greets me on the way out. We have never had a conversation. When leaving Mass recently, we exchanged smiles and hello's as usual and he walked off and was a few yards in front of me when he turned round and looked at me and I sensed that he wanted to say something so I quickened my step and caught up with him. We talked about the weather and to make conversation asked how he was, he told me that he had recently been diagnosed with cancer, was unsure how long he had left and was assailed by doubts about the afterlife. I promised prayers and we parted. As I drove home, it occurred to me that any doubts he had would be surely be allayed by a visit to Medjugorje where Our Lady would embrace him and reassure him about the reality of his faith. It's been decades since I have been to Medj. but was thinking of going anyway so decided to volunteer to go with him if he were interested. This was a couple of months ago but unfortunately, I haven't seen him since and do not even know his name. Please pray for him and that I will meet up with him again soon so that I can discuss this with him.
I just saw this posted on Medjugorie website. I’m wondering if Peter is still over there and might know more about it. it certainly is an urgent and obviously important request from Our Lady. With the news in another thread that the Serbian leader sees war in 3-4 months, thus request for a 9 day novena directly from Our Lady cannot be ignored. And the fact that she will change the tine of her daily apparition to 11:30 is also noteworthy. So the 9 day novena to our Lady Queen of peace started today and finishes on 23rd with the anniversary of first message being June 24. All this is feast of the birth of John the Baptist. Now this novena which starts tomorrow will end on the 24th and the monthly message is the 25th. While all the messages are important, it feels like this one with a 9 day novena ahead of it could be very significant. I guess we join in prayer and see.
I wonder if Our Lady's request for this novena ties in with what Brian posted on the WWIII thread... "Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić gave a long interview to the Swiss weekly Weltwoche in which he revealed that Serbia is checking oil, flour and sugar stocks because there will be a world war in 3-4 months."
I received this earlier I just received this message from Father Leon who is the Chaplain in Medjugorje for the English speaking people. He said: Tonight, during Our Lady's apparition to the visionary Marija, Our Lady invited us to pray the rosary from tomorrow at 10 pm on Apparition Hill at Our Lady's statue, where there will also be an apparition every evening during the Novena to the Queen of Peace. Our Lady's apparition will be at 11:30 p.m. Our Lady said that in this Novena to pray for peace in the world. Come, let us respond to Our Lady's call. So, wherever we are in the world maybe we can unite in prayer and try to pray the rosary together for Peace as Our Lady is calling us. And wherever we are also we can pray during the apparition time and unite ourselves to the apparition. I know when we are in Medjugorje Our Lady says during the evening program when she is appearing on earth, that if we thank God for allowing her to be coming to this earth and we are really praying with the heart that we receive the same graces as if we were right there present at that apparition.
