The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a heart illuminated to bursting point with the most powerful force in the universe and beyond - Love. The Sacred Heart has existed from before the beginning of time, throughout it and beyond it, into eternity. Consider taking all the nuclear bombs, missiles and warheads in the world, filling them with love, and exploding them at the one time simultaneously. It would not even come near the amount of love that the Sacred Heart has for human souls. It is the source of Jesus' love for us, (as well as the love our Blessed Mother has for us through her Immaculate Heart), for as it comes from the heart it comes from the deepest recesses of soul and spirit. Yet the task of unconditional love for all humanity is made all the more inspiring and beautiful considering that most human beings do not even acknowledge the love from His Sacred Heart, and some reject it, either through ignorance or sinfulness. Like loving a child who spits into your face. Would Jesus ever stop loving? No, for he is Love Itself.

If a soul consecrates itself to the Sacred Heart, they can be assured help in times of need, for Jesus cannot help but shower graces upon souls entrusted to him in this way. He cannot refuse great graces to those who seek solace, refuge and assistance in his Sacred Heart. Beyond the glory of a million exploding sunsets, the love contained in the Sacred Heart is a love that we mere humans will never understand. But He does give us a small taste of that love, a power which can almost lift a soul off its feet.

We pray, O Lord, that more and more, especially beloved Christians Lord, may acknowledge and praise your Sacred Heart for ever and ever. We pray, Lord that all our actions be pleasing to you, and all we do today we do for the glory of your Love contained in Your Sacred Heart, O Jesus. May Your Heart be praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified for ever and ever, throughout eternity,
    Amen.

I will testify to the power and depth of this consecration. Many years ago, our parish priest celebrated an Enthronement Mass in our home where my family was consecrated to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts and their images were placed on the wall above our family altar. This is where our family devotions occur and where Mary's Litanies are recited. Such concrete acts express what must be an interior surrender, yet Our Lord is pleased when visitors to our home witness the outward expressions of our love.

The protection and grace provided by the Consecration was key to securing the two vocations of my sons, my loving and stable marriage to Geralyn, and teenagers who love the Lord. As the Psalmist says:

91:1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress; my God in whom I trust."

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
