Is that your personal video? I had assumed if was just downloaded off the net.

Yes, a personal video shot in Medjugorje. We were just walking along and my son notice the sun so I stuck the video on. It was so beautiful to see the sun beat like that - the video does not do it justice really. It was a gift from above as you can see others in the frame walking past paying no attention whilst we were treated to a sun show.

And the people you hear at the beginning of the video are my son, myself and my wife - of course we just kept quiet after that enjoying the show which lasted only for a few minutes.

Nature is lit up in Medjugorje by God's grace - we were also treated to the most astonishing Moon Set (setting moon), almost very day I experienced something in nature that blew my breathe away.

I also videoed the statue weeping - a daily miracle!

So Garabandal, just to clarify; Are you saying this flashing phenomenon is not a video camera effect, but is visible to the unaided eye?

100% not a camera effect. It was genuine. I only decided to video it for posterity and for family members who were sceptical of us going there. I also made sure I shot the scenes between the trees so that the sun would not be directly into the camera lense.

My son noticed it first. Both he & my wife saw it & I caught it on video. You can hear my wife say 'Oh My good God' in surprise as she witnessed the pulsations.

The sun pulsated like a heart. That's all I can say. We were also able to look at this phenomenon with the naked eye, no problem at all.

    Amazing, absolutely amazing.
I've seen this on YouTube before but for some reason always thought it was a lens artifact. I didn't realize that people saw it and then videotaped it, I thought it only became apparent after the event.
Well, consider yourselves blessed to see such a sight. What I wouldn't give to witness something like that.

While you're the first I've come across to see the sun pulsate, other people I know saw strange things too: one person spoke of an event that happened at night: they were praying the rosary outdoors, (probably up the mountain), when little lights descended from the sky and encircled them (15 people in the rosary group and all saw it), the lights then shot back up to the sky. All were amazed and blessed to see this.

Another occasion, a friend I know went to Mej on a pilgrimage tour. In the tour was a baby who was very sick and had never spoken, the baby was brought to an apparition where the baby spoke the word 'Mama" several times to everyone's astonishment. ( I was struck by an almost identical story on spirit daily.com recently).

I'm not telling these stories to portray a sense of longing for the spectacular or "signs and wonders", but to show that the phenomena there are beyond human comprehension and are truly uplifting and encouraging.

  6. I too believe Medjugorje is 100% true. What I experienced in 1986 when I was there was simplicity among the miracles that were so numerous that it was if you could swim in them.

I have said before that there are others also that have been incredibly manipulated by the curia. Emmitsburg, MD, Naju, and Denver, CO. Travisties! If you read about the messages from Emmitsburg, you will recognize the fish/animal die offs and the holes (now 4!!) IN SIBERIA. Soon to be coming to a city near you. ..

I think maybe the thrust of Mallett's article has been eclipsed here. His main point was to direct people who casually try to dismiss Medjugorje to the abundant fruit it has - and continues - to produce. One of the things that those who dismiss Medjugorje constantly insist upon is that it engenders a spirit of rebellion, that it encourages people to abandon the direction of the Church. I fear some of the discussion here bolsters the point the critics make rather than the point Mallett makes that the fruit is abundantly overwhelming.

I once had sympathy with the critics of Medjugorje...but in a very important visitation in March of 1993, I was told that "Lourdes, Fatima and Medjugorje are all manifestations of a single event - and Fatima is at the heart of it." I was startled for several reasons: I was not consciously aware of Fatima at all (I am not a cradle Catholic), but I was directed to study and learn about it, for that was of decisive importance. At the time, I thought Medjugorje was kind of a carnival tourist trap - like Niagara Falls - and expressed my doubts to the angel instructing me. He chuckled and said that it had, indeed, gathered up some of the barnacles of this benighted age, but that it is authentic and I should pay attention. I have - and as Mallett said - I don't think there is any such fountain of graces and conversion in history that has gushed forth so long and so prodigiously.

I would, of course, follow the formal direction of the Church on the matter. But I have every confidence that the final determination of the Church will confirm it, for when can the Church fall into unremitted error? It sometimes can go up a blind alley for a time - and those are moments when, I think, God is proving our own virtue of obedience. Was not St. Joan of Arc improperly condemned before she was rehabilitated? Have not all efforts to shut down Medjugorje been stopped - by the Vatican? To say you know it to be true, regardless of what the Church says is not a definitive act of disobedience if you also vow to abide by the Church's ruling; but is a revelation of a propensity for revolt that justifies, I think, some of the critics' concerns.

As for me, I am grateful for Mallett's vigorously clear advocacy of the authenticity of Medjugorje, which was done with a certain refined respect for the very critics whose case he devastated. I think it a fully Catholic defense of truth.

In fairness to Mark M, what he actually said was:
I have about as much authority to declare it true as its detractors do to declare it false. There is a stunning shortfall of humility in this regard, it seems.
My interpretation of this reference to humility is that it is aimed at people who make an absolute declaration either for or against.
I can't argue with that, and I don't think the Padre Pio's or Solanus Casey's of the world would argue either. We must all tread carefully.

To rail against Mark who also says in the article
...if it is a deception, all I can say is that I hope the devil comes and starts it in my parish! Let Rome take its time. Let the “deception” continue to spread.
Of course, I’m being a bit facetious. But I believe this is precisely what St. Paul meant when he said, “Do not despise prophetic utterances. Test everything; retain what is good.

is a to be a bit over-sensitive I think. We've got enough trouble with the enemies 'out there', let's not go beating bushes looking for enemies 'in here'.

It is hard not to be afraid. Actually impossible. When I used to fight I was afraid of being killed. So I was afraid. I was very young back then and facing gunfire was a big deal. I was afraid I was perhaps a coward.

But eventually after being in few operations I realised that courage is not not being afraid. Courage is being afraid and still getting the job done. Of overcoming the fear. If I had some kind of magic wand I would love to banish fear for a little while.. But I never did find a magic wand.

The nearest I can get to not being afraid is to wrestle with my fear so I can carry on and do what needs to be done.

Fear is not in itself always a bad thing you know. I would not like to go into battle with a comrade who had no fear. I would not trust him. Fear gives you the edge, teaching you to prepare properly and be cautious. A person who did not fear would get himself and whoever is with him killed.

Sometimes at late evening time I get a sense that the devil is going to come again and attack that night, that he is angry at me.

..and yes I am afraid. I do not know anyone who would not be. I suspect some people would be scared to death. Yes and so I fear. ..and my fear teaches me to be prepared and take what steps I can.

So I don't know in a funny kind of way I have found fear to be my friend. Even the fear that is so gut wrenching it makes you want to throw up. Even utter terror.
So when Jesus says, 'Be not afraid' , I think he means the fear that unmans us. That does not let us get the job done.

But as for fear, even terror itself. Well all can say I don't ever think it will vanish from my life. Nor , it being an old friend do I ever really want it to.

    Psalm 91:6

    My Refuge and My Fortress
5You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; 6Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. 7A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.…
