I think she got Holy so quick for two reason, the Cross and love for the Eucharist. The poor kid got dropped as a baby and suffered terrible spinal injuries which had her in agony. Also she picked up TB form her mother who died shortly after Nellies birht. As you may know the sufferings of TB are a horror story. Rather I shouldn't say just her sufferings of course but her acceptance of sufferings as from the Hand of GOd. Her hunger for and exemplary devotion to the Eucharist are exemplary and appear to have played a key part in leading St Pope Pius x to give young kids access to the sacrament. I guess you could say she was a living martyr. Certainly a tiny Victim SOul..I must check and see if her Cause is going forward in Rome....
