Great, Agnes. The first Wednesday of each month, the group prays for the intentions of all of the Monicas everywhere. You will love it.
I just recently read about Millions of Monicas as well. What a great and timely idea. A parish not far from us just scheduled their first gathering and when we return home, I’ll join. Thank you!
Worried about my health and finding that difficult but trying to trust in God. Sometimes it feels like God has abandoned me because of physical health issues and not knowing the future but trying to keep going. Had a lovely time in medjugorje and experienced great grace there.
You have to abandon yourself to the Divine Will in order to get peace. You have to abandon yourself completely including the fears about your health. You are in a good place Peter as God has led you to a place where you must make a decision to surrender all to Him, moment by moment make a prayer of surrender.
The refrain in Fr Dolindo’s Surrender Prayer is repeated 10 times: O Jesus, I surrender myself to You. Take care of everything. I went online and printed out the Surrender Prayer. I have been saying it off and on for about a year. Tremendous peace and insight.
I am not saying its easy to do but seems to me to be a direction of travel. God calls us all to total abandonment to his Divine Will and providence. To give you an example. I need at least 8 days teaching supply each month to meet our needs. I have been offered only 3 days for the whole of this month so have been slightly concerned. So this morning I took it to God in prayer told Him I leave all to his providence. At 10.26am I got a text from school offering me a fixed one day per week for the rest of the year helping kids with literacy support. Thats 4 days a month fixed for me, taking the pressure off completely as i just have to find 4 more days each month which shouldnt be a problem. Talk about a quick answer to prayer, all honour, praise and glory to God.
Our Lord truly never fails to provide if we get out of the way and just give it to Him. He taught me this early in my walk with Him. ( that doesn't mean I always do it. Sigh)
So sorry I missed this, AED. I'm going to Holy Mass shortly and will offer up my reception of Holy Communion for Denise! I guess you could call me a chaplain in exile.
