I am sick at heart for all the brave Catholics who fought so hard and for the babies who are now to be murdered. The remnant stood in the gap like Abraham's 10 good men. I hope it is enough to spare Ireland from this horror. I cannot tell all you lovely Irish friends on this forum how my heart aches for you. May Our Mother console you.
If only it was that easy to wipe out the traitors. I hope the news in the morning is not the dreadful outcome we fear. Get ready for the Irish medical profession to be seriously affected if this right to kill is legalised. A lot of good medical staff left the UK after the legalisation of abortion here some years ago. In the beginning medical staff could opt out if killing went against their conscience. Now it is a hush hush thing, and many have to go along with the legal requirement regardless of their conscience, if they want to keep their job that is. So, so sad living in a death culture. I know a lot of Irish people don't have any time for Christina Gallagher; but one of the last messages Jesus allegedly gave Christina indicated to me that Ireland would legalise abortion. I did so hope it was not to be.
That's very much on the cards Julia. When the government legalised abortion for suicide ideation (under the equal right to life of the mother clause) they made it mandatory for pro-life doctors to refer the woman to a doctor who is willing to recommend abortion. The head of our national maternity hospital has been very supportive of the abortion agenda. So much for the accusation of "you don't trust our doctors" when the 8th amendment was proposed. The same people had contraception made easily available by claiming that it would prevent abortion. There was nothing prophetic about that Christina Gallagher supposed message. The reason for the 8th was the rising influence of the abortion lobby. At least the far left groups were honest about their intentions. Some of our sanctimonious conservative politicians hid their intentions behind what they called a constitutional crusade as they pretended butter wouldn't melt in their mouths. In Ireland as in other countries it was conservative who gave us every anti-family and anti-life law while they defended their own financial interests to the bitter end. A few - very few - had the integrity to sacrifice their political careers for their principles.
The same thing here in the US. We have been played for years by so called conservatives in Washington but they never deliver. They want the status quo. Only Trump has upset the Apple cart.
