    Adest Mensis Augustus!
The month of August is here!

"This image comes from the Sousse Mosaic Calendar which is a 3rd-century CE Roman mosaic found near El Djem and housed in the Archaeological Museum of Sousse, Tunisia.
In 8 BCE, the Roman Senate renamed the month August to honour Emperor Augustus. Originally, the month was called Sextilis, which means “sixth month” in Latin. In the early Roman calendar, the year began in March, so Sextilis was the sixth month."

    From Learn Latin Fb page:

    “Non serviam.”
    (I will not serve.)
    — the defiant cry of the dragon.

    But Saint Michael answers:
“Dominum Deum tuum adorabis et Illi soli servies.”
(The Lord thy God thou shalt adore, and Him only shalt thou serve.)

And the dragon is crushed beneath his feet."

Saint Michael the Archangel, protect us and pray for us.
