It is telling for me and I will hold to it more closely, since today my curiosity got the better of me and I watched the below clip that seems to authentically portray a deeply ingrained aspect of General Patton not commonly known. It may demand a little bit more time than you can afford. Perhaps some of you recall the movie entitled "Patton". It portrayed a General, unflinching, unwavering, exhibiting a hardened fortitude which he expected of his men on the battlefields of Europe to emulate. Well, the below paints a picture of a General who also visited military hospitals with a Bible in his hand, spending time with German as well as American wounded. All this was referenced in notes saved by the officer who accompanied Patton and drove him around. It reveals that the movie was more a caricature than not. My point is simply the importance of the thread title, revealing times when I have made judgements prematurely! I'm not now saying he was a saint, but... Lord have Mercy!
We so often make rash judgements about others. And we really must not. Even our president. We can never see the whole picture. Our job is to pray. I am glad to hear this about Patten. The movie portrayed him as so cold.
