Please join me in praying for the poor people as it looks like the worst hurricane in history is about to hit them and linger overhead a few days. Poor, poor people. This prayer can be traced to St. Anthony of Padua. Make the sign of the cross on the + symbol. Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. + God became man, + and the Word was made flesh. + Christ was born of a virgin. + Christ suffered. + Christ was crucified. + Christ died. + Christ rose from the dead. + Christ ascended into Heaven. + Christ conquers. + Christ reigns. + Christ orders. + May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning. + Christ went through their midst in Peace, + and the Word was made Flesh. + Christ is with us with Mary. + Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Juda, the Root of David, was won. + Holy God! + Holy Powerful God ! + Holy Immortal God! + Have mercy on us. Amen! – from the Pieta Prayer Book
More prayers. I was watching some poor fishermen who said they would not evacuate because they wanted to stay to save their boats. I have never been poor like that myself. Even the Government Storm shelters are unsafe and people know this. I have never been poor. But if we have God we are always rich. The Holy Family proved that. May God be with them. More prayers, my heart goes out to them.
When I hear words like historic and unprecedented and never seen anything like this before I think of the fullness of the Tribulation. But why Jamaica rather than anywhere else? A mystery. But more prayers today.
Seeing update that it made landfall around 1pm ET as a Cat 5 with 185mph winds. Already reports of loss of life. Lord, help these people!
