Father Muir in his book about Pope Pius xii tells a story of a posse of very angry Rabbis who went to the then Pope making a big scene about how Jews were referred to in the New Testament and the Church Liturgy and demanding that these passages be removed. How Pius xii was a genius and new a number of languages, including being fluent in Hebrew. He reminded the stunned Rabbis had read their religious writings in the Talmud the Jewish sacred writings and that there were numerous references that were extremely insulting to Christians generally and to Jesus in particular. They also abused Mary the Mother of God referring to her as a whore and a slut. Pope Pius suggested that if these very numerous gross insults were removed from the Talmud he would do the same in return. No more was heard about the matter. It occurs to me that if it does not matter if the Jews reject Jesus or not, that they will be saved anyway, then what on Earth was the point of Jesus coming to Earth in the first place? Also if it does not matter if folks believe in Him or not for their Salvation, why do we bother following him? What does it matter? If the Jews do not need to believe for Salvation why should we need to believe for our own Salvation?
He's wrong when he says that the Inquisition tortured Jews to convert them to Catholicism. The Inquisition, evil though its deeds were, only tortured self-professed Catholics. His claim was that they act out of fear, that they need assurance that the world loves them and that they only want peace. This is what hurts me the most and this is where the Catholic Church differs the most from all other religions. Protestants believe that they are saved only by faith in Christ, not that they have to live according to the teachings. There is some hierarchy according to which a person is saved, it is not necessary to live and follow the teachings of Christ. They believe that the Jews are chosen by God and that no matter how they live, they are privileged with God, God's teachings are not valid for them.... This is exactly what the Pharisees and Jews of that time did, whom Jesus often criticized, and we have numerous parables of Jesus where Jesus "exalts" the Gentiles, whether they were Romans or the inhabitants of Israel who were not members of the Jewish faith, but lived according to faith and justice. On the other hand, the entire Bible speaks of a God who is justice, love and mercy. The God who came to save all people, the God who chose Noah and Job for the righteousness for which they were saved, Abraham was a Sumerian - not a Jew and God chose him so that Salvation would come from his lineage because he was righteous. Jesus' stay on earth is actually a teaching on what we should be and what is necessary for Salvation, and people managed to turn that into privileges and those who are chosen by God, only they did not ask God for that, but they determined it themselves. And then we come to the point where man again makes the mistake of Adam and Eve, determines what is good and what is evil. I really do not understand how someone can consider themselves a believer in God, a believer in justice and justify what is happening in Gaza. Our God crucified on the cross, and before that the innocent tortured and flogged remained silent and forgave. Here we have starvation, bombing and killing of entire people, and individuals and communities invoke blessings on this and say that it is God's will and invoke the name of Christ who "stands" behind it. I am glad that Pope Francis has maintained contact with Christians in Gaza every day and in this way has shown that the Church of Christ is united and that it is always with the oppressed and suffering. God cannot be bought, God's teaching is one and equally valid for all, there are no privileged. By the promise of Christ we know that the Catholic Church will never bow down to false teachings and this gives us great hope and encouragement.
It strikes me that Jesus often spoke of the eyes in the Gospels. Remove the log from your own eye, if your eye causes you to sin rip it out, if the eye is dark how great is the darkness. I often get the sense that there is this whole kind of game we play where we think it is ourselves who determine the rules for salvation, even Catholics do this at times. Yet there are saints who never make such claims and repeat often they are the greatest sinners. There is this kind of egotistical approach from the intellect and another approach of pleading to God. Saints are great, but they still are full of sin and they know it. One approach requires no effort to know God the other requires loads of effort, which is why Jesus says first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness will be added to you. Jesus even said the tax collectors and whores were going into the kingdom before the pharisees, because at least they knew they were sinful. I honestly believe that there are likely people who take God's Word genuinely from all faiths that will or have already entered the kingdom. But I think there are also those who have deluded themselves.

In Yemen, under the patronage of the USA and Arabia, the war against the Houthis started again, which won, but this caused a large economic blockade and the bombing of routes that caused hunger and a shortage of medicine, which caused a large number of children to die... So in both cases the USA has no benefit from the wars in the Middle East. In both cases, the only one who profits is Israel and all the wars in the Middle East from Iraq, Syria, Libya to Yemen are fought in order to collapse all the authorities that bother Israel and are Iran's proxies. What's his excuse for what his people are doing in the West Bank? No Hamas there.
