  1. How do you KNOW those apparitions/messages ARE from heaven? Medjugorje phenonemon is still going on, but 1987 the bishop of Mostar and 1991 the bishops of Herzegovina declared that there is nothing supernatural in those alleged apparitions and revelations. I prefer to be obedient to the bishop/bishops and not going to wait until the alleged seers die. Oh, no! I have noticed that those who are hooked on Medjugorje think that they are privileged or some kind of special daughters and sons of Mary. The messages hint or openly speaks of this. This is one proof of their unauthenticity.

I don't want to diminish our Lady's work in any way. I just don't believe that she is appearing in Medjugorje or has appeared in Garabandal. I can assure you that I have prayed! God has given us reason, faith and everything so let's use them as well as possible. With the help of His mercy.

Oh no, here we go again (boring same old, same old) circular argument:sleep:

How many times do we need to go over the same old territory of for and against?

  3. How many times? As long as this topic are on any forum, I guess:LOL:! Yes, the same old story. Is it not boring to read about the "good fruits"? I say it's really boring:sleep:. Have a nice day!

I'm pretty sure you missed the point of Maria Faustina above. We have plenty of prophecy that is church approved - I'm sure you're familiar with them. She didn't say all prophecy is crap. Reading only Church approved prophecy IS still following the "advice and directives of Sacred Scripture".

  6. Very interesting Jackie jives with these dates

We can expect the Warning within a year of that date and thus any time after 13 April 2016.

  7. Fatima you did alot of work well done. Just wondering why you posted these years? You may be correct She keeps repeating we have long difficult years ahead of us.
"This is only the beginning of dire events upon mankind from 2016 to 2038."
    Why 2o38?

    Maria Faustina....
first of all, I find you very insulting. I believe in Medjugorje and have been there. I do not see myself as privileged or special. You seem to have a personal vendetta against those who support Medjugorje or Garabandal....Why don't you practice patience, love and tolerance and keep your opinions to yourself? It seems to me you are out scouting for a fight here....Obviously, knowing many of us here are supporters of these apparitions, you seem to take some delight in repeatedly hammering through this. It's getting really old....

If only church approved prophecy were ever read or followed, then none would ever be approved............

I'm talking about lay people here. You said (as I understood it) that by not reading unapproved prophecy some are "quenching the spirit" and not following sacred scripture.

Sounds like Garabandal has some pretty important support from some very spiritually wise people.
Conchita received a letter, dated February12, 2007, from Archbishop Carlos Sierra of Oviedo, then the acting Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Santander, which read:

“I want you to know that I am open to receiving and considering all information about Garabandal, and would like to continue—as long as our Holy Father wishes me to serve as Apostolic Administrator—the work that my brothers at the Bishopric have already done in reference to this subject. What I have just done is authorize the priests to go to Garabandal and hold Holy Mass at the Parish, at any desired time, and to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to anyone that wishes to receive it. I am sure the next Bishop will promote further studies to examine in depth the Garabandal events and will send the findings to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome. I respect apparitions and have known of authentic conversions. How can we not always feel the need to open our heart to our Mother Mary to tell her that we need her protection, her help, her courage, her hope, her faith and her love when faced with these events! I encourage you to keep maintaining such devotion toward our Mother”.

While he was living, the same Padre Pio guaranteed the authenticity of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin. He met Conchita at San Giovanni Rotondo. Even during the last days of his life he talked about this to his brothers in religious life and left a personal message for the principle personage of the apparitions. “

Fr. Pelletier -“Our Lady comes to Garabandal” page 219

POPE PAUL VI QUOTES ON GARABANDAL

“ Conchita, I bless you and with me the whole church will bless you “.

Father Escalada explained his work in spreading the message of Garabandal in Mexico and the Pope Paul VI encouraged him to continue saying: "These messages must be made known." Father Escalada asked the Pope for his permission to continue promoting Garabandal and the Pope said “YES”. Pope Paul VI said :
"It is the most beautiful story of humanity since the days of Christ. It is like a second life of the Virgin on earth. And we can never be grateful enough for it."

Pope John Paul II - on Garabandal

There is a book on Garabandal, written by Albrecht Weber in 1993, entitled Garabandal Der Zeigefmger Gottes (Garabandal: The Finger of God), of which a first edition copy was presented to Pope John Paul II. He later asked his secretary, Fr. (now Archbishop) Stanislaus Dziwisz, to write to the author. In the subsequent printing (2000) of the book, on page 19, a portion of the Pope's message is reprinted, as follows:"May God reward you for everything. Especially for the deep love with which you are making the events connected with Garabandal more widely known. May the Message of the Mother of God find an entrance into hearts before it is too late. As an expression of joy and gratitude, the Holy Father gives you his apostolic blessing."Weber writes, "From the attached greeting in the Pope's own handwriting, with his signature, it is clear how deep an interest he has in the events of Garabandal, and how anxious he is that they should be made known in a credible way."

Mother Teresa , Garabandal ,and Conchita

The famous Foundress of the Missionaries of Charity has never expressed any doubts about her profound belief in the divine origin of Garabandal: "It was in 1970 that I heard about the apparitions of San Sebastian de Garabandal for the first time . . . From the beginning, I felt that the 'events' were authentic . . ." (Letter of November 10, 1987 to Msgr. Del Val).
During her frequent trips to the United States, notably to New York, Mother Teresa had the opportunity of meeting Conchita who has lived on Long Island since 1972. This was the beginning of a strong human and spiritual friendship that never faltered. Mother Teresa is the godmother of Conchita’s third daughter, Anna Maria.

The devil ain't that smart in my opinion !

I am talking about lay people as well. Without continued lay devotion over sometimes long periods of time prior to approval (with fruits demonstrable of genuine prophecy from apparitions of angels, saints, and Jesus), many of these now approved supernatural messages or apparitions would never be approved.

"By their fruits you shall know them" If Saint John Paul II believed in them, it is a pretty good sign they are from God.

This is the only reason I need to read not yet approved prophecy:

[16] But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel: [17] And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. [18] And upon my servants indeed, and upon my handmaids will I pour out in those days of my spirit, and they shall prophesy.

The Lord told us to look for it!

I use to believe in Garabandal 100 % but now only give it a 50/50 % rating because # 1) That Father Adrieu (I know I spelled his name wrong) was found to be bones and # 2) Joey is dead and did not receive new eyes. I've heard the argument the good Father would be reconstituted after the Miracle...but for me that is unprecedented in Church history and is a very long shot. Some also claim that Joey got new eyes in heaven...for me that's a "cop out". We will all get new bodies if we get to heaven...so what's so extraordinary about that claim if this is what Joey was told?
As for Medjugore...I believe it to be true.
Having said that I'm obedient to whatever the Church decides.
Just know...this corrupt age is undergoing a painful transition. Be converted and make your peace with God and neighbor. We shall all be touched by loss...but we will gain our humanity back when all is said and done.

Scripture is hard to interpret, so are apparitions/visions. I like Charlie Johnston's description of predicting apparitions.

Digging up Fr. Luis Andreu's body in NO WAY invalidates the prediction, why ? Conchita, in a letter dated August 2, 1964, wrote this to Father Ramon Andreu (his brother) “On July 18 (1964), I had a locution in which I was told that on the day after the miracle your brother (Fr. Luis Andreu) would be removed from his grave and his body would be intact.” SO infact , the Blessed Mother said it would be " THE DAY AFTER THE MIRACLE ", NOT BEFORE ! The prophecy is still valid until then.

Glenn not to be contrary or contentious...but wasn't Father Andreu body some years after his death... already exhumed and bones where found to be in the grave? If bones where found then this presumes that his body would have to be exhumed a second times after the Miracle. In which case the only way his body could be found to be " intact" is if it was "re-constituted". This in fact would be extraordinary because we do not have a case of a reconstituted body from bones to flesh in any other saint...at least that I know of...I could be wrong...but I'll search some more. I'm not saying it couldn't happen...just why would you need such a extraordinary event when you already have the extraordinary event of the Miracle itself to self prove its own veracity with its permanent sign and all. To me personally...to believe this...just makes my mind do to many..."jump through the hoops" to get to a proper resolution. Joeys death and the Father Andreu problem is just a bit more than my little rational mind is capable of believing...thats just me though.

I like this phrase. Or perhaps a painful transformation!

Ted Flynn's new book is called the 'Great Transformation'.

Woman Clothed With The Sun posted a very interesting video on this topic on the thread on Sacred Astronomy, it's worth watching and giving prayerful consideration. The presenter is not that easy to listen to, unfortunately, but it is well worth persevering and listening to what he has to say:
