My impression is that Padraig doesn't fear this schism at all, but on the contrary is saying "bring it on" - at least that is what statements such as "At some point , hopefully soon a large group of Cardinals wil lcall upon him to recant and at this point I believe the Church will go into formal schism" would lead me to believe. Again, I am open to correction.

I hope you are wrong. Sometimes when I'm troubled I write or say things that come across differently than what I actually mean to say. That could be what's happening with Padraig. It really would be better to freeze or delete the thread. I can wait to have my questions answered elsewhere.

One thing is for sure - I have prayed much more for Pope Francis than I did for John Paul II or Benedict.

He needs our prayers because when he goes before the judgement seat he will have to bear a bigger account than anyone on this forum.

Adoremus, Recant what? Do you know what he thinks the cardinals will ask him to recant?
When I brought up the idea of a petition, I was thinking that Pope Francis needs to clarify his thoughts on these cohabitations having grace.
Maybe Padraig should make a list of what Pope Francis needs to recant? I am not suggesting that he post it but I think some times a person can gain some clarity this way.
Malachi said Fatima sounded like blah, blah, blah, all of this talk about Pope Francis sounds like blah, blah, blah to me.
Too many people on these anti Pope Francis websites are going over the edge and they are taking a lot of souls with them. Like a run away train.

I think Fatima was trying to calm things down a bit, maybe Dolours has the best idea close this thread - even better delete it, then I suggest no one posts about Pope Francis at all and we can pick it up again in a week or so.

Please Padraig take a breather, you have helped so many here to do that in the past.

Genuinely disappointed Peter that you are going elsewhere.

I have enjoyed reading your posts and writings.

They were Padraig's own words and I can't speak for him but my guess would be, recant his heretical statements.

Adoremus, Thank you for answering, I hope that Padraig considers the suggestion that I made (make a list and get some clarity).

I have just read excerpts from that one one peter five article by Yore. I am dumbfounded that such filth on that catechism course could be part of education in a Catholic school nay in any school. It is utterly bizarre and extremely disturbing.

Father Malachi Martin had all these cretins called out decades ago. Moreover he has given us nearly an exact blueprint of the crisis we now face. May the good Lord have Mercy on us and direct us on the path forward.

Someone on MOG had already posted about this disgusting catechism. I didn't realize that the guy responsible was given a high level position.
It seems that we have a few cardinals who need to go, very sad.

    Malachi,
I totally agree with you about Father Martin's knowledge and foresight to see into what was then developing into what we have now. I've listened to all of his talks with Bernard Janzen, and have his books, which are a hard read, not because of his writing style. He is a very readable writer. But because he packs so much information in each page, fully cited and indexed, so one can verify the veracity of what he says.

I often wish he were alive today, and regret not knowing about him when he was alive. Thank goodness for his work and his media works; everything he has said about the cardinals have been true, tragically.

    Blessings

  12. It is a great, great loss that you are leaving Peter and it speaks volumes. I'd like to say that those who are so far to the right are walking right off the ship. Does Cardinal Sarah and Cardinal Burke come out and call the Pope an heretic? Nope.
I would not call them wallflowers either. The letter of the law and the spirit of the law must stay balanced. Mercy is showing itself. I will say my lunch with Ivan in St. Louis was not a mistake. He openly said that our Lady told him THIS WAS HER POPE AND HE WAS A GOOD POPE.

BUT everyone is smarter than our Lady, right? Where are your spiritual directors on this?? Don't have one? Even the elect will be taken down.
Malachi, I suggest you read "Excommunication for dummies. Calling a pope or a priest a heretic is wrong!

Is that Ivan the visionary from Medjugorje?

  14. For all of you who are focusing on the sins of our Holy Father, let me remind you that he is opening wide the doors to unity. The Orthodox Church just like the Lutheran Church under Saint Pope John Paul II will be coming under one shepherd. ALL will be one. The good he is doing is being whitewashed by the headline news filled with speculation and scandal.
Don't fall for the whirlwind of complaints and doubt! We have lost the understanding of the spirit of the law. We truly think we are in control! Ha!!

I would go so far as to say that perhaps in the region of 40 percent of our priests are heretics and many in actual apostasy. So so many have no idea of the actual nature of their ministry. There are so many priests who think that whole business about forgiving sins and making Christ present on our altars is an absolute fairytale. Is it not all about sisterhood, alleviating poverty, etc

*"Now when [the Pope] is explicitly a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church must either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See." St. Francis de Sales, "The Catholic Controversy" (16th century)

*"...a pope who is a manifest heretic by that fact ceases to be pope and head, just as he by that fact ceases to be a Christian and a member of the body of the Church; wherefore he can be judged and punished by the Church. This is the judgement of all the early fathers, who teach that manifest heretics immediately lose all jurisdiction." St. Robert Bellarmine, "On the Roman Pontiff" (16th century)
