Granted he were a mystic (but I'd like to see evidence of it) why would shaking up the Catholic Church like a bottle of champagne be a good thing? To hear it pop?

The Pope respondng to the murder of the priest in France by Islamists has said that the world is as war but not a war of religion. But a war over money. In other words the priest died not for his faith, but over money.

This is standard Marxist/Socialist analysis of causation. In fact the priests killers openly stated they were killing him because he was a Chirstian. Not because of his money. Marksist/Socialists have class anaylsis based on Economic perpectives on the brain

I know St Pope John Paul was a mystic because I have read hard evidence of it, Joe. he wrote his Doctoral thesis on the mysticism of St John of the Cross and the evidence of several witnesses such as his Driver in Poland points to it.

He was trained in the ways of prayer by a humble tailor in Cracow who himself was a mystic and whose cause is going forward in Rome.

What evidence do you have that Pope Francis is in a high state of prayer; that he is a mystic? If you can show this , show it. Put up or shut up Joe.

But he also says that religion without mystics is mere philosophy. In my view the simplicity espoused by Francis amounts to mysticism. Contrary to much opinion on MOG I see his yes as yes and his no as no. To me his message is clear and true. It does not get much more simple or mystical than that. The divergence of opinion must lie in the hermeneutic. Ask for a new one and you will receive. In God's time. The structure of the DNA molecule was only discovered when it was considered in a different way. In this openness all became clear. I will not devalue the intelligence that Gad has given me but who am I to think that my view is of any import.
