I very much admire Bishop Schneider but believe his to be mistaken in this.

I hope you pay as much attention to other things he is saying.

I think present events are like a hallway to the Illumination of Conscience.

Thats convienient isnt it to think he is mistaken? I obey the pope and those bishops united to him as the Church has always told me too.

Yes, very likely. Everyone can feel the gathering spiritual energy around them--light and dark--even unbelievers. Our Lady spoke of a disequilibrium of mind among even the brightest (as Sr. Lucia revealed) and this a time of diabolic disorientation for sure. We are all in the Barque of Peter here and everyone is sincere in their reading of the current troubles in Rome and in the Church. It is a mistake to think that those of us who question these things are disloyal or against the Papacy or somehow outside of God's grace. I don't think those who are still trying to accept the troubling cross currents of these days and put the best possible spin on them are evil or stupid or blind. I just think they are trying very hard to justify--out of charity maybe. I pray for Pope Francis with every rosary I say and I pray sincerely. I beg the Father's Will will be done in this papacy for the Pope's sanctification. It's such a tightrope to walk--the safest prescription I know is to reconsecrate ourselves every day to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in complete surrender and then trust for their protection and the gift of discernment. I guess I would add I am very wary of "nuance"--when I hear that word in relation to Church dogma I get very uneasy. Jesus said "let your yes be yes and your no be no--everything else is from the evil one." He spoke very clearly on many things--marriage, the Eucharist--and He was accused of giving "hard sayings! Who can keep them?" Well, it's the same today as it was then. With His grace we keep them for with men these things are impossible but with God all things are possible.

This verse today seem to fit in well with this thread?

HeartLight Daily Verse - 4 January

    Micah 6:8

[God] has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

    Thoughts on today's verse:
God's desires for us are not hard to discern. He wants to bless us with salvation. The incredible gift of his Son is powerful testimony to this truth. But salvation from sin and death is not something he wants to happen in our lives only once. He wants our lives to daily reflect his salvation and to share it with others. We should act justly and pursue mercy in our relationships, and honor him with our worship from a humble heart.
    Prayer:
Almighty and compassionate Father, as I embrace this New Year, help my eyes see what your heart sees. Teach me to hate sin and be merciful to the repentant. Teach me to know truth and act fairly, while hating abuse and exploitation. Through your Spirit, stir me to reflect on the great distance between your holy majesty and my inconsistent character. Make me more your child, I pray, in Jesus name. Amen. Visit heartlight.org for more

It's astonishing Dolours isn't it to watch all t his play out in real time. I have to keep giving myself a mental shake and pick up my Rosary beads yet again. The most wonderful antidote to that helpless feeling of "what can anyone do?" Especially Cardinal Burke's Rosary Crusade, knowing I am praying along with thousands for these same intentions. Great peace comes with that.

Listening to him cite Germany, Belgium and Latin America as areas where the corruption in the Church was so prevalent, along with what his reference to Cardinal Hume, it's as though he is speaking from the grave. I didn't know much about him before I joined this forum and, to be honest, I thought at first that he was some kind of failed priest out destroy Christ's Church. His interviews on radio chat shows didn't really do him justice. It's clear from the Janzen interviews that he was a devout, orthodox priest with a love for God and the Church. May he rest in peace.

It's also very clear from Cardinal Burke's interviews that his first love is God and Christ's Church. He stands head and shoulders above his detractors. And yes, prayer, especially the rosary, should always be our best defence, but we are also obliged to defend the Faith as best we can so it would be wrong to sit back and pretend that our leaders aren't pressing the self-destruct button.

OK can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? When I go to reply and hit reply button I end up on the person's original thread. Very strange. Any advice appreciated.

If it is anything like my tablet - which i am using right now - it is slow reacting, so the best suggestion i can offer is to go slow at the beginning, making sure the system has placed the reply part - which you can identify with the open square bracket QUOTE ending with the open square bracket :) QUOTE close square bracket. If you have done no other typing until then the cursor should then be outside

    That's normal, AED
You can delete the original post if you care to but all you have to do is add your response to the bottom of the original post. It makes it easy for others to see what you are responding to. Sometimes I delete some parts of the original post so as to concentrate my response to a particular section. Just make sure that the {Quote}s are still at the fore-n-aft of the original. I hope this makes sense?

It is a bit like a train driver going down a tunnel. Some can see what is at the other side. For some it is totally dark, some get a glimmer of light and so.

As you and your Spiritual Director said it is a great testing. Many who go into this tunnel just won't be coming out again.

In fact it would be true to say, expressing it in human terms, that God the Father is filled with such anger that He is in a Rage. Even the angels are horrible offended and demand Justice.

Only Our Lady holds His arm. But it about to fall.

Jerry's post explains it well. Also, if you want to make sure you've got it right, you can click on the "More Options" button before submitting your reply. That will bring up a list of options, one of which is to preview your post as it would appear on the thread, and you can edit as appropriate in the text box beneath the preview pane and then submit your reply when you're happy with it.
