Your posts are always so measured and reasonble ,Peter.

I have not rejected these messages, I have not even begun discernment as such. I am intriged at the friction they have generated so I am going to go through them inch by inch to see, much prayer and storing up.

I have to see on first appraisal I have noticed negative indications, but we will see. I always try to keep an open mind and heart, but at the end of the day the hammer must usually go down, one way or other.

Yes, John of the Cross cautioned against seeking mystical experiences for yourself - an admonition not to get attached to the consolations of God, but to seek God for His own sake.

My two cents. I don't think anyone has been chased off the forum. Many people here expressed support for John, so he wasn't in a nest of vipers, so to speak and many posts welcomed him warmly. The title of the thread is a request for discernment and that is what we were trying to give. I was initially impressed, especially as he has the support of two good priests. But now I don't know. It's wise to be cautious and to wait a while. As for discussion, as Padraig says, we don't meet face to face and so can't express ourselves by tone of voice and facial expressions, which will help to soften our words. I believe in debate - and for honest discussion it's necessary to be open. What some people saw as a personal attack, I saw as honest questions. I have never seen any abusiveness on this forum. I've been on forums where one or two people try to dominate and take over, they do this by sidelining or isolating anyone they think is a threat. I don't see this here.

Padraig mentions the feeling of 'ownership' - I would extend this to the attitude of some people towards their favoured apparitions. It's not attacking to query unapproved apparitions, and actually this extends to approved ones since the Church never insists we believe in any of them. I had a friend who didn't like any apparitions as she thought 'Our Lady sounds so right wing'. I'm laughing as I type this, by the way, so please don't imagine a fierce scowl on my face. Fatima has been vindicated over and over. But one can in theory be a good Catholic and ignore it. I wouldn't, but there you are.

One good point of discernment is how much alleged messages speak of the messenger. I was lent some books of unapproved but widely disseminated messages. The friend who lent them is a wonderful holy man who I look up to and admire. As I read the messages I started to feel jealous - God's expressions of love for this mystic, his coochy-coo relationship with her - hmph, he doesn't talk that way to me I thought. Then I realised that envy of another's spiritual good is a sin and these books encouraged it in me. I am cautious with discernment and don't only refer things back to me, but alarm bells were ringing.

When I was growing up my mother used to berate us with 'Your father is always right!'. It took me years to realise that NO ONE other than God is always right. I certainly am not. Let's be open to what God may be saying to us, but free to disagree as well.

    # 7 – Refuges: …at the End My immaculate Heart will Triumph

I truly believe that all the Refuges being prepared by Our Lady and the Holy Spirit are the literal, existing-with-us “Immaculate Heart of Mary”.

Our Lady has told us many times and in diverse places that She desires to draw us closer to her Immaculate Heart, a place where we will find refuge and peace. In these most difficult times that are coming to the Church and to all of mankind, She has always been the front-runner for Her Son Jesus. Unfortunately, even at this late hour, a huge segment of mankind has turned their face from God. We must not, however, become discouraged by this depressing fact ; instead, we must look to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, who is preparing a second Pentecost.

She is calling all of us to Her Immaculate Heart as our place of refuge.

    Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to Your protection, implored Your help, or sought Your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto You, O virgin of virgins, my Mother. To You I come, before You I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in Your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Our Blessed Mother is the refuge of sinners—that is, each of us. Despite our sins, frustrations and failings, she does not detach herself from us, but rather intercedes for us with loyalty and love in Heaven.

The Holy Spirit and Mary prepare the way for us….

Many of us wonder, what is happening to the world…. “What on earth is going on?” We are seeing all the natural disasters that are taking place all over the world, economic collapse in many countries, the state of world governments, depression, terrorism, nations in upheaval, and widespread evil,

How will we prepare ourselves for the warnings and calamity that are coming and will soon visit mankind?

We must prepare first and foremost spiritually. Our physical preparations will and must develop from our spiritual preparation and direction-a course found only through fervent prayer.

Through prayer, we must seek Our Lady and the Holy Spirit. They are our hope and Jesus is our salvation. Our Blessed Mother wants to bring all of us to Her Son, Jesus. Her prayer and Her cry is for each of us to come to Jesus and open our hearts to Him. She is preparing the Church for the coming of Second Coming of Jesus. The world must be the Ark of Covenant, free from all sin. The chastisement is a cleansing of all sin in this world. Then, Our Lord and Savior will reign as King and Lord of all creation.

When Mary spoke on visiting Elizabeth, the Holy Spirit came upon Elizabeth and upon John the Baptist in Elizabeth’s womb. St. Louis Marie de Montfort, tells us that when we have Mary, we will also have her Spouse, the Holy Spirit:

“When the Holy Spirit finds his Spouse in a soul, he flies to that soul, to communicate himself to it, to fill it with his presence, in proportion as he discovers there the presence and the fullness of his Spouse. One of the major reasons why the Holy Spirit does not now work blinding wonders of grace in our souls is that he does not find in us a sufficiently strong union with Mary his indissoluble Spouse.”(True Devotion to Mary Part 1, chapter 1, article 2).

The Holy Spirit is not a vague, ghostly shadow, nor an impersonal force. He is a person equal in every way with the Father and the Son. All the divine attributes ascribed to the Father and the Son are equally ascribed to the Holy Spirit. He is the inner voice, the insistent whisper within us that will tell us what to do, where to go and when.

    John 16: 12-15

“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Holy Spirit of truth will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

St. Maximillian Kolbe, in keeping with Catholic Tradition, sees Our Blessed Mother as holding a distinguished place in God's plan of salvation; of being a conscious cooperator with all the grace which comes from God to man. But while Sacred Tradition, represented by writers such as St. Louis de Montfort, emphasize Mary's Divine Motherhood as being the basis for this teaching, Kolbe views Mary's universal mediation of grace as primarily being linked with and drawn from her intimate and hidden relationship with the Holy Spirit.

So when we have Mary in our lives, we will also have the Holy Spirit, just as the Holy Spirit fell upon Elizabeth and upon John the Baptist when Mary spoke. So we can say that the closer we are to Our Blessed Mother, the closer we are to her Spouse, the Holy Spirit, and the closer we are to God. Our Lady leads us to God, so that when we have the Blessed Virgin Mary in our souls, the Holy Spirit comes to us.

The Refuges Our Lady and the Holy Spirit:

There are many of our brethren that have contacted me in reference to the Refuges. I have shared with them, as much as possible, particularly regarding the holiness and the existence of God’s presence inside the Refuges.

Inside the Refuges, I witnessed the total love and presence of God. We were all spiritually immersed in the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Holy Spirit and Our Lady’s holiness are so incredibly beautiful that any impurity is instantly vanquished. This godly, loving environment will exist inside the Refuges.

Many are concerned that they do not know where to go or find a Refuge. I assure you: do not to worry! Continue to pray to Our Lady. If we are in steadfast, sincere prayer and communication with our Lord and our Blessed Mother, we will be directed as to where and when to go.

Before the time of the calamity takes place, the Refuges will be ready. For those that are not able to travel, angels will carry them into the Refuges. I saw angels carrying Holy Shrines, Basilicas, even homes into the Refuge. All of us need to try to be and to remain in spiritual order with Our Lord through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She is the boss and in charge! I know this personally as She is the one that has been praying for me for many years. She brought me to Her Son Jesus, who changed my life.

Inside the Refuge, I observed that everyone was aware of what was taking place outside the Refuges in the “world”. There was constant prayer, but all were living a good life, each person attending to different roles and contributions within the Refuge (for example, I saw my wife working with children). Everyone was helping each other as the Body of Christ. I saw nothing but love, kindness and all the fruits of the Holy Spirit. As there will be calamities occurring “outside”, many people were being brought into the refuge. I viewed myself going on many rescue missions, bringing those escaping the various catastrophes into safety.

On one occasion, the Lord indicated to me that He would send me out into the disasters. He told me that I needed to be captured, but that He would not allow harm to come to me. I was put in chains and sent to a prison where there where hundreds of men, women and children locked up and being tortured. During my short time inside, the Lord sent angels to let me evangelize to do those that had no hope and were full of despair. As I preached and ministered, the Lord changed their hearts and they turned to God. Even the guards repented! It was at night when the prison doors and cells were opened by angels, and we were able to take the captives to our refuge. In confirmation of this, my wife had a dream/vision where she saw me being taken captive in chains and heard the words “For the Blood of the Lamb goes before you”. Of course, there is no fear on my part because our God is God.

    Psalm 91:1-16

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

    2 Samuel 22:3-4

My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.

    1 John 5:18

We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

O Mary, Mother of Mercy and Refuge of sinners, we beseech thee, be pleased to look with pitiful eyes upon poor heretics and schismatics. Thou who art the Seat of Wisdom, enlighten the minds that are miserably enfolded in the darkness of ignorance and sin, that they may clearly know that the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Roman Church is the one true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither holiness nor salvation can be found. Finish the work of their conversion by obtaining for them the grace to accept all the truths of our Holy Faith, and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth; that so, being united with us in the sweet chains of Divine charity, there may soon be one only fold under the same one Shepherd; and may we all, O Glorious Virgin, sing forever with exultation: Rejoice, O Virgin Mary, thou only hast destroyed all heresies in the whole world. Amen. (Pope Pius IX)

Revelations 22: 17 The Spirit and the Bride say “Come” ……….

As an ordained deacon, I had the honor of officiating at the wedding of my youngest daughter Barbie. There was a lot of excitement in our household. My wife was enthusiastically preparing the bride to meet her groom---it took months and weeks to prepare all the details that were needed for our baby’s wedding. My wife worked day and night on the preparations. The day of the wedding, Barbie looked beautiful and walked down the isle of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. I could see the love and anticipation of the groom. It was a beautiful wedding.

Throughout the ages, it has been Our Lady who has been given to the Church by God to prepare us to meet Her Son. We read the mystifying scripture that speaks about the Bride and the Holy Spirit saying “Come, Lord Jesus”….The Spirit and the Bride say “Come” … Who is the Bride?

We, the Church, are the Bride being prepared to meet the Groom, Jesus---The Church which is the Body of Christ, is in preparation to meet her bridegroom. Our Lady has been working through the ages to prepare us, the Bride, for the coming of the Groom. Who is the Groom? Jesus Christ is the groom! The Spirit and the Bride say--- Come, Lord Jesus!

    Padraig,

I received several emails from Mark Mallet on what I am sharing. He asked a question that I responded. I am sending you a copy of his email and my response to his question. Also my article on the Immaculate Heart of Mary that will be posted next week. For you discernment.

God bless you my brother in Jesus,

    Dear Mark,

I use the word “Calamity” in place of the word chastisement or tribulation. I guess it is too soft a word!

What I was shown was hell on earth; all the demons of hell were released to pilfer the earth and destroy humanity. The world had literally become god-less. God’s presence was gone from the earth!

I will try to describe some of the devastation and destruction:

I saw complete darkness, and two nuclear bombs exploding on a large city while another nuclear bomb exploded about 60 miles from the second city. I heard sirens and bombs exploding.

was shown pestilence-----hundreds of people covered with boils and sores with yellow pus.

I heard screams everywhere, the sound of gunfire and I smelled a horrific stench of sulfur and other smells that are hard to describe.

I saw riots in the streets and a dark mist traveling throughout the cities. There were cries for death and much cursing.

I saw foreign troops on American soil and on the East Coast (Orientals) and West Coast (European).

. Later, I was shown a large rock falling into the Atlantic Ocean that created a shifting of land mass. I saw the eruption of volcanoes, tremendous earthquakes that caused some existing countries to sink into the ocean and other land masses to came up. I saw Central America cut in pieces into islands. Costa Rica was not touched.

All of these disasters were happening at the same time!

The children of the Lord that were in the Refuges were protected by Our Lady. No harm came to anyone there. Outside the Refuges, evil was being cleansed from the earth. There many Christians that suffered martyrdom. I was shown the destruction of the Vatican, but the Church continued to be strong and alive. Outside the Refuges, both good and evil people died.

It is not easy to describe the chastisement that is coming. Sorry to say…there will not be a Rapture!

This is the first time I have shared this with anyone. I was told by Our Lady to not disclose this until I am told to share it with the rest of humanity. However, I was given permission to share this with you.

I would be happy to talk to you over the phone whenever it is convenient for you.

May God bless you and your beautiful family. You can be assured of our prayers for you, your wife and children, and for constant protection and provision in these tough times.

Your brother in Jesus and Mary,

    Dear John,

Warm greetings. Yes, I read your most recent post referring to Johnnie. I was surprised, of course, since we have been communicating for several years now. His spiritual director, Fr. Kyle Dave, and I, had a powerful mountaintop experience (literally on top of a mountain) about 8 years ago. During that week, the Lord revealed to us what was coming. That experience formed the basis for my internet writings, which draw upon the early Church Fathers, popes, and Magisterium to paint virtually the same picture that Our Blessed Mother has been revealing, but with the authoritative words of the Church. It’s been a remarkable, frightening, purifying, trusting… journey for me. A few years ago, I published a book called The Final Confrontation based on JPII’s words.

And so now, here we are on the very threshold, the very beginnings of this great Storm. So far, from what I’ve read of your posts, we are saying much the same thing. I wrote about the coming refuges here: The Coming Refuges and Solitudes. I summarized the coming Storm here: The Seven Seals of Revolution. And lastly, I wrote about the coming peace in a letter to the Holy Father: Dear Holy Father… He is Coming! (I have over 900 writings on my website, so that’s a very small summary).

I am happy to make your acquaintance John. It’s a difficult path we are on; it is not easy to bear the Lord’s message. It is pretty much the end of one’s reputation! But that’s how Jesus ended HIs life too…. blessed are we!

I look forward to reading more of your words, including the attached, and communicating as the Spirit leads us. Best regards to your wife as well. (For some reason, you both look very familiar to me. I’m wondering if we haven’t met at a conference or something….. I’m from Canada, but have been speaking and singing in the States for a number of years.)

    Bless you!

    Mark

P.S. My wife and I have been discerning moving to Prince Edward Island in Canada this past year… the sense of a calling there. But then, it also seems to be blocked right now. So we’re not sure what is God’s will and what isn’t. Say a prayer for us.

    John,

There was another mystic from Florida, his name was Stan Rutherford. Our Lady literally tapped him on the head when he was dead in the morgue after several hours, telling him, “We have work to do.” Before Stan passed away, he told me that he too saw a map of the United States. A large hand appeared and wiped away parts of the coastlines (which makes me wonder if we aren’t crazy moving to an island on the east coast!)

You spoke in your attached writing of a coming calamity. What is the calamity that Our Lady showed you John? (We can speak by phone if you would prefer…)

    Mark,

I believe that Divine Providence is bringing many of God’s children together. All that I have shared with comes from the Our Lady and the Holy Spirit. In 1982 I was shown a Map of the Future USA. I could not understand at first what I was being shown because I was a growing baby Roman Catholic Christian. As I was growing in my spiritual journey and was taught and shown many spiritual things. I did not know what to think. I have found out that if a vision or prophecy is from God, He will confirm it. A week after I had this vision I received a letter from an elderly gentleman from Blanco, Texas about 30 miles from San Antonio. He wrote to me and told me that he had received this vision of the Future Map of the USA in 1956. I was stunned because it was the same map I was shown.

Many years later we moved to the Texas Hill Country and were gracefully accepted into the small town community of Fredericksburg. My wife and I became involved in different ministries in our parish. We were let to start a Prayer meeting at our home and several people became part of this small prayer group. One of the subjects was the importance of the Texas Hill Country to God. I shared my vision with the group and everyone was curious, which is normal. I tried to look for the original map that was given to me, but I could not find it. The following week one of the ladies from Johnson City, Texas brought a Map and shoed it to me. I was stunned, because it was the same Map that I was shown by Our Lady and the same Map that was send to me by the elderly gentleman in Blanco, Texas.

Last week when Johnnie Hernandez visited us in Fredericksburg, Texas, he confirmed this Map before I showed it to him.

In either case I certainly ..and I cannot stress this enough..recommend that you not go public in either case untill you get the go ahead from your Spiritual Director.

Thanks for the email, I will include this in the discernment process,

    Dear Padraig,

I thank for your support and discernment. I read the comments of the messages and I on the Mother of God website and I pray that I can answer some through you.

    1. I call them articles for the lack of a better term. I am sharing what was shown and told to me. I am not making it up.

    2. do not seek any following or exposure on me. I have been there in the past and I just want to serve Our Lord and Our Lady. I tried to get a low profile and I seek only to be on the background.

    3. Andy posted things that were confusing to him.

    a. I have not written any of my sharing in over 34+ years only verbally with my Spiritual Director.

    b. Whenever Jesus taught the people, He always started with a parable to give the people a better understanding of what He was going to teach (I do not compare myself to Our Lord). I was told to share my personal experiences to allow people to see how the “Messages” would speak to their hearts.

    c. I started writing about 3 weeks ago all that has been written of the messages.

    d. Once I start each article (teaching/Message), I cannot stop. It is as if the Holy Spirit is telling me what to write.

    e. I was told that it would not be easy for me and that I would be attacked from my own Christian brethren. I wish no one harm nor do I want to be exalted. I am not the author just a messenger.

    f. I share about myself to bring an understanding as to how these messages come to be.

    g. People do not realize that the time is getting short and that we need to prepare our souls before God.

    h. This not a time to argue, but to pray, discern and listen to the voice of God and the messages given to mankind through apparitions, word of knowledge to many Saints, through our Holy Father – the Pope. Approved messages from Our Lady, such as, Akita, La Sallet and Medugorge etc.. The message are the same when it is God warning us through many men and women of god.

    i. I do not claim to be special. I just want to be a normal man of God.

    j. I have received hundreds of emails and phone calls from all over the world. They all confirm what we have written.

Again I thank you for your discernment and support. I am not a prophet, just a simple man who was chosen for this task. I ask nothing for myself. I would like people to read and then allow the Holy Spirit and Our Lady to speak to them and to discern before the Blessed Sacrament.

God bless you and know that the Lord and Our Lady are at your side,

    John

And who would that be that has moved to "discipleship"? That's quite a statement.

The tenor of some folks on this board is quite disconcerting but mabye this is our Lord teaching me to once again hold my tongue, so I'll just respond and ask that before you hit enter, mabye say a quick prayer if that's what you mean before throwing some of this barbs at your brothers and sisters. I haven't been here long and can see who to avoid (ahem, Mac) but Padraig, I thought you were a quite reasonable person. Are you sure you want to accuse people of becoming a disciple of someone other than our Lord and Savior?

  13. padraig

    padraig Powers

I would say St Francis had disciples, St Dominic, certainly St Catherine of Sienna. ..and well if they didn't have many disciples when they were alive they certainly had when they were dead otherwise they would never have fostered the Cultus that led to their canonisation.

I have never thought of or heard discipleship named as a negative thing? I would certainly consider myself a disciple of Our Blessed Mother. I don't consider this in any way demeaning.

I don't think John himself is after me with a baseball bat, otherwise why would he still be in touch? So if John is happy....

You didn't answer my question, you are describing Saints and Mary who had/have disciples, but you accused others of becoming disciples of John Martinez. Who exactly has become a disciple? And yes, that would be ridiculous for someone on this board to become a disciple of someone that popped up out of the blue and is completely unknown to them, so yes accusing someone of that is certainly demeaning, but you already know that.

If you're going to be accusing others uncharitably as the moderator of this board, just realize that you set the tenor of the board and others will follow. Please pray about that, ok? God bless you, Padraig and all on this board. I again think we need to stick together and not start accusing and attacking others. We are, as far as I can tell (well, Mac is another story--just kidding, Mac!), all on the same "team"

Now I thought I would lay down a few guidelines as we enter detailed, systematic discernment.:)

Please let us be as objective and rational as we can be in our posts, but above all kind and charitable in our posts as we can be.

Let us not be prejudiced for or against this phenomena but enter freely with a totally open mind (well.. as far as we can)

Let us not go topic hoping but stick to particular points and issues we are dwelling on , don't hop about.

If it so happens you reach the end of the road on this one way or another don't be badgering the rest of us with your conclusion. Let the rest of us find our own ways.

Don't rush, pray, store things up in your heart, pray to the Holy Spirit for enlightenment, ask Mary the Mother of God to walk with you.

Be kind, be gentle, be patient, be loving, be wise and show courage and Justice.

If you see red spots in front of your eyes or your blood pressure rising away and take a shower.:D:D:eek:

This is so key, more than mere words. This is a forum dedicated to Mary, our Mother. Just as many of us have consecrated our hearts to her Immaculate Heart, so has this forum been placed in her hands. So as her children, let us entrust this discernment process to Our Lady who is Spouse of the Holy Spirit and Seat of Wisdom.

Luke 2:49 And he said to them, "How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?"50 And they did not understand the saying which he spoke to them.51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.

Though I'm one who generally refrains from speculation, preferring to focus on living Our Lady's message, the sense of urgency which John and many of us have experienced of late, causes me to want to be attentive to this phase of the discussion.

    Lead on, Padraig!

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

I agree that there has been a pattern on the forum of getting the 'boot' either literally or critisized enough that they leave. Why? Does not scripture tell us how to address a "brother in error"? Are we not in charity to correct a fellow brother in Christ, or is it easier to boot someone off the forum or shame them off the forum because we disagree with them? And if anyone speaks on the forum, with whom we may not agree with, yet they are not in doctrinal error, do they not have a voice if it is outside the mainstream of thought? I see this as not only uncharitiable, but lacking in humility as well. Our Lord himself was misunderstood more often then not. The least we can do is hear someone out if they are speaking what we cannot, or do not want to hear. Why the lack of charity? Are any of us 100% right on prophecy? Then why should someone be so uncharitable towards someone who may be receiving messages from above? If they have not spoken falsely against Church doctrine (teachings in faith and morals) then who are we to judge? Now I don't know about John, but he has said nothing contrary to Church teaching. I continue to give him due consideration, like many other alleged messengers. If they are not sound they will bear out if you let them speak enough. I would dread God's judgement for the way I have seen some judge others who speak on MOG forum. I have read the thread on people on this forum who are receiving dreams. No one has judged them for speaking out what to many may seem far fetched. We need to pray for more discernment and critisize less or we will be judged the same as we judge.

I think one thing I always remember on discernment, Terry and that is a comment by St Teresa of Avila. She said that given a choice of either a holy Spiritual Director or a wise and learned one which she would choose. She said it would always be the wise and learned one. I can see so well she valued little St John of the Cross of much who was both wise, learned AND holy.

The same goes for mystical phenomena and discernment , it is better I believe to be systematic and slow.

(By the way John says he has no association whatsoever with the New Ager Edgar Cayce and seems horrified at
    the notion which is great)
