TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: JULY 10, 1963: CHRIST'S FIRST LOCUTION TO CONCHITA. TOWARDS THE "CONVERSION OF RUSSIA AND THE WHOLE WORLD . . ." The first of the two very remarkable locutions of Christ to Conchita occurred in the village church. Its content is so dense and transparent and of such quality, that we need only, at least for the moment, to read it very attentively: "As I was giving thanks to God and asking Him for certain things, He replied. "I asked Him to give me a cross, for I experience no suffering in my life, except that of not having any crosses. As I was asking Him for that, Jesus replied: "Yes, I will give you a Cross." Very moved, I kept on asking for other things and I said to Him: "Why is the Miracle coming? To convert many people?" And He replied: "to convert the entire world -Para convertir al mundo entero" - [Our Lord was thus indicating the importance of the events of Garabandal.] "Will Russia be converted?" "Yes, it will be converted; thus everyone - todos - will love our Hearts." "Will the chastisement come after that?" He gave no reply. "Why do You come into my poor heart without any merit on my part?" "Because I do not come for you; I come for the whole world." "When the Miracle takes place, people will think I am the only one to have seen the Blessed Virgin." He replied: "I let you be the one who, by your sacrifices and patience in trials, will intercede with Me to perform the Miracle." And I said to Him, "Is it not better that I be with the four or that You take none of us for the intercession?" And He said, "No." "Will I go to Heaven?" And He replied, "Will you love our Hearts a great deal and will you pray to them?" "When will you give me the cross?" He did not answer me. "What will I be?" And He did not reply. He only told me that, wherever I am and whatever I am doing, I will have much to suffer. And I asked Him, "Will I die soon?" And He replied, "You must stay on earth to help people." And I said to Him, "I am of little importance, I will be unable to help You in any way." "Through your prayers and your suffering, you will help the world." "When we go to Heaven, are we dead when we go there?" And He said to me, "One never dies." I thought that we did not go to Heaven before we rose up again. I asked Him if St. Peter was at the door to greet us and He said, "No." When I was thus in prayer or in a conversation with God, I felt I was outside this world. Jesus told me that "Now more people love My Heart." On the subject of priests, he told me that I ought to pray a great deal for them, so that they may be saints and fulfill their duty well and make others better. TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY TUESDAY, JULY 11, 1961: THE PHYSICIANS AT WORK . . . PERFORMING TESTS Garabandal was an exceptional field of study for theologians as well as for physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists who, as early as June 25, went up to the village as independent observers. In the first two weeks of July, Msgr. Doroteo Fernandez set up a "Special Commission" made up of three priests and two physicians. These were in charge of investigating the "events" and the girls of San Sebastian de Garabandal. The members of this "Commission" came only three times to the village during the four years that the events occurred. Commissioned by the bishop, Doctors Jose Luis Pinal Ruiz and Luis Morales, psychiatrist, began their first experiments on July 11. All kinds of tests were performed on the children in ecstasy. Pinching, burns, pricks, intense light: so many sensory stimulants producing no effect. "This is no way supernatural. It is a psychogenic reaction to the situation . . . Vulgar hysterical phenomena . . ." Such was Dr. Morales' opinion on the one ecstasy that he had attended. His report, quickly drafted, influenced the negative verdict by the "Commission" concerning the supernatural origin of the phenomena of Garabandal. He, who had really been the "directing head" of the "Special Commission," completely reversed his position in 1977. In May 1983, during some lectures he gave at Santander, then at Madrid, he publicly defended the authenticity of the apparitions. [Excerpted from 'Garabandal' Book, pages 59; 61] This first "Commission" was a joke ! Never intended to give the girls a fair and unbiased report.
THE BISHOP & COMMISSION WAS BIASED ! The Bishop was dead set against approving this apparition from day one ! Did you know that the very priest who they sent to investigate, came back a believer ! Then RESIGNED! When that didn't work, they sent doctors, but the doctors were dumb founded as to how the girls in ecstasy were impervious to pain ! They were burned with matches, stuck with needles, pinched, has sand thrown in their eyes (but didn't blink) darn near torture ! But they too failed to explain this as a "natural event" or the girls imagination. Now the Bishop is so mad, he even REFUSED the testimony OF POLICE CIVIL GUARDS. The worst part, they REFUSED to interview A SINGLE PERSON ! HOW CAN YOU CALL THIS A VALID INVESTIGATION WHEN THEY NEVER INTERVIEWED THE GIRLS , THE PARISH PRIESTS, the girl’s parents, family, friends, other villagers ??? There were hundreds of witnesses who begged to testify, and they would not hear them for fear of convincing the public it WAS TRUE ! There was such a LACK OF EVIDENCE to support his position, that NO REPORT WAS EVER SENT TO THE VATICAN !! So when the original Bishop's finding is not favorable for approval, many lost interest in Garabandal and worse yet, our Blessed Mother's messages. Other Bishops offended ! Now add the second message of the Blessed Mother that said "Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them " WOW, so the very people in charge of the investigation, are being called out by Mary, and they don't like being "knocked off their pedestal " of reverence in the peoples eyes. And you wonder why the approval did not happen then. Thank God, that the likes of Pope Paul VI, Padre Pio, kept hope alive because of their belief in the early days, or this would have been dead and buried. As the evidence mounted that Mary was appearing, the best that they could do is say that the apparitions were " Non-constat de supernaturalitate - It is not certain that the events are of supernatural origin. ". This is just a few reasons the early generations had little interest ,until Joey Lomangino went to confession to Padre Pio ,and came back to America and started his apostolate. Now it is up to us to get this message out before the Warning & Miracle ! We have the enormous advantage of the internet and media that no other age had. God has given us the tools to awaken the world to the truth of our Lady's messages NOW, before its too late ! Do all you can.
FINDINGS NEVER SENT TO VATICAN ! What do we know for certain of this initial query? The commission visited the village briefly and only three times, and NEVER questioned the visionaries, their parents, the parish priest, and carefully avoided anyone who might have given favorable testimony. No questions regarding the apparitions themselves were put forth; those that were asked were of a general nature, e.g., the way of life in Garabandal, the social activities of its inhabitants, and so on. Not only did the priest on the commission resign, two decades later, its chief medical examiner, Dr. Luis Morales, with the permission of the bishop at the time, publicly reversed his original negative position, after having received an asked-for miraculous sign. A second and a third study (1986-91) were commissioned by Bishop Juan Antonio del Val Gallo (who was the priest on the original commission). The findings of the first of these two commissions were neither finalised nor sent to the Vatican. The results of the third investigation - started by Bishop del Val and transferred, upon his retirement in 1991, to the current bishop - Jose Vilaplana, eventually were sent to Cardinal Ratzinger at the Vatican but have not yet been made public. Thus, no official pronouncement has been made yet, as they wait for the fulfillment of the Warning and Miracle.
How reliable is this First Commission ? Let a main witness speak: Upon presenting the memoirs of Juan Alveraz Seco, Brigadier Chief of the Civil Guard, and the man responsible for maintaining order in the village during the apparitions, Anotnio Pacio, M.S.C. Professor at the University of Barcelona writes: “ I would like to only state one thing to forestall the objections on many based on various official communiqués coming from the Diocese of Santandar. These communiqués should have been preceded by a substantial interrogation of the myriad witnesses” “Among these witnesses , one who stands out is Juan Alvarez Seco, Brigadier Chief of the Civil Guard,who is the author of these memoirs. He was present from the beginning to 1962,and at 1965 at the time of the Message, and he had the duty of informing his superiors and the Civil Governor and all that was going on in Garabandal, while at the same time he had to maintain order in the village. “ “Well, none of the Commissioners, who rejected the supernatural events at Garabandal, ever asked him to testify, nor did they deign to even interview him, who was the “official informant” to the authorities. This detail suffices to illustrate the “true and impartiality “ with which the various episcopal commissions endeavored to inform themselves. Juan Seco : “ THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN BELIEVING WITNESSES, BUT ONLY THE UNBELIEVING. THEY WANTED AT ALL COST, TO DISCREDIT THE MANIFISTATIONS, AND IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS, THAT HAD TO ELIMINATE ANY WITNESS,INCLINED TO BE FAVORABLE, NO MATTER WHAT HIS COMPETENCY”. Ok, I have not read everything or even a modest collection of writing on Garabandal. What i have read, in my opinion screams it is as real and true as Fatima. For those who won't believe anything is true without Vatican (local Bishop) approval, it probably wouldn't matter if the stones screamed out. I'm a little surprised witnesses (the whole town) are not more vocal. I suppose their own bishops or local priest would silence them. No one is silencing them, as a matter of fact the town has seen a resurgence of tourists now, and information is more available ,through the internet, than ever before. Remember, this town didnt even have electricity during the apparitions,its come along way.
MARY PREDICTED : GARABANDAL PROMOTED WITH THE CHURCH Mary predicted that one day Garabandal would be promoted, with the permission of the Church. Conchita said: “ That’s very pleasing to the Virgin. She likes that very much. She desires us to work at spreading her message. But also she wants us to obey the Church, so as to give more glory to God. And she will give time for the message to be spread, with the permission of the Church. “

FATIMA & GARABANDAL I feel ,as many do, that Garabandal is the continuation of Fatima. At Garabandal, Saint Michael first appeared to the visionaries in the evening (8:30 P.M.) of June 18, 1961, exactly 40 years to the day (and even the same time of day) from the last vision at Fatima. In the sixth apparition at Fatima on October 13, 1917, during the tableaux of visions during the Miracle of the Sun, Our Lady appeared as Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the scapular on her wrist. On July 2, 1961, the Virgin appeared at Garabandal as Our Lady of Mount Carmel with a large brown scapular draped over her right arm. When Our Lady appeared at Fatima in 1917 she did something she had not done before: she addressed messages specifically to the entire world. While she appeared again after Fatima at Beauraing (1932-33) and Banneux (1933), she did not speak to the world at either of those places. But at Garabandal we again find this universal appeal. Although Fatima and Garabandal are separate events there is continuity in the revelations and similarities in features of the events not found among the other visits of Our Lady during the Marian Age. It is interesting to note that the 3rd secret was supposed to be released after 1960,and when it was not, Mary appeared at Garabandal in 1961. See how the world did not heed Mary's Fatima warnings, so she stated them more profoundly at Garabandal.
SUNDAY, JULY 16, 1961 Feastday of Our Lady of Mount Carmel FIRST REAL COMMUNIONS GIVEN BY THE ARCHANGEL ST. MICHAEL TO THE VISIONARIES. On the Feastday of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Blessed Virgin awakened the four children very early in the morning. They were to receive the first of some fifty real Communions from St. Michael. These occurred either in public or without any witnesses, and at various locations, except the village church and in homes. That morning, the girls, in ecstasy, climbed, also for the first time, the very steep calleja up to the Pines, where, at 5 a.m., the Archangel gave the Eucharist to Mari-Cruz and Conchita. The latter would receive five or six of her subsequent Communions at this site on very particular liturgical days. One hour later, also on the 16th of July, Mari-Loli and Jacinta, in turn, received the Eucharist at the site of the "Rock of the Angel" located on a lower level than the Pines and so named because St. Michael had stood there several times. During the whole period of the apparitions, the visionaries received Communion almost every day, either at the Mass in the village, or from the hands of the Angel when there was no priest at Garabandal. The nine Pines at San Sebastian de Garabandal are what remains from a small plantation of pines and oaks organized in 1947 by the pastor of the village, by Serafin Gonzalez, Conchita's grandfather on her father's side, and by the mayor of the area. Set on a slightly higher level above the village and with no trees in the area, the Pines, as we will often have the opportunity of mentioning them, are the neuralgic center, really "chosen" for the phenomena and the events of Garabandal past and . . . to come. Mary & The Brown Scapular When Mary appeared as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, wearing the Brown Scapular over her arm, she instantly sent a message of its importance. It also connected the Brown Scapular to the devotions Mary talked about (the rosary, the morning offering, etc) to the Garabandal messages.
