Pope Benedict XVI & Garabandal Pope Benedict XVI knows all about Garabandal , and been very receptive to learning more about it. Not only has he met and interviewed Conchita, ( When I personally spoke to Conchita about the meeting in the Vatican , she told me she only met him when he was Cardinal Ratzinger, not as Pope Benedict.) He has all the latest investigation papers, eyewitness testimonies of the miracles, etc. performed through the intercession of Our Lady of Garabandal, sent to him by the well known promoter the late Fr. Francis Benac, S.J. He has also read the Garabandal book “ O Children Listen to Me “ Cardinal Ratzinger became the Prefect (head) of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, on November 25, 1981,the Vatican department in charge of protecting the sacred deposit of the faith handed on from the apostles. Considering how close he was with Pope John Paul II, who was a vocal supporter of Garabandal, him meeting Conchita, reading up on the subject, it’s no surprise to me, that he is a believer too. The reason I say this is I have it on good authority that he has conveyed his belief to a Vatican priest ,who is also a Canon Lawyer (who wishes to remain nameless ). According to journalist John L. Allen Jr.'s 2005 biography entitled: 'Pope Benedict XVI: A Biography of Joseph Ratzinger' (pages 118-119 ) his interest in Garabandal began long before becoming Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. It actually began when he was a professor of theology at the Gustav Siewerth Haus Academy, located in Germany's Black Forest. Every summer he gave a course in dogmatic exegesis at the private academy from 1970 thru 1979. It is said that he knew of and took the Garabandal apparitions seriously even then. Author John Allen, Jr. confirmed this from several of Joseph Ratzinger's former graduate students. Monsignor Juan Antonio del Val, in addition to giving permission for the movie made by BBC, made a personal investigation for several years about the Apparitions of Garabandal and is one of the witnesses on the video, “Garabandal, the Eyewitnesses,” produced by Michael Tubberty and published in more that thirty languages by Monsignor Roman Danylak, titular Bishop of Nyssa, Rome, Italy. (January 24, 2000). Monsignor del Val testifies that the findings of the investigation of the Apparitions of the Most Holy Virgin Mary in Garabandal were sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; more specifically, to Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. ( This led to Pope Benedict XVI interest and belief in Garabandal).

As we celebrate " Mother's Day" here in America, I remembered that a long time ago, Conchita was asked about being a Mother, in America. ( The life of a Visionary is not an easy one, they share the same concerns we all have, and then some. ). A " Happy Mother's Day" to all those Mom's here. It is hard too that Patrick must work evenings because we have so much ground to make up. Bills are a great worry: we never know if we will have anything left. At age 16 Conchita was already was spiritually wise: "There is no point in our believing in the apparitions if we do not heed the message." As a complement to what has already been pointed out, may we add here that St. Simon Stock, whose Feast day falls on May 16, received the "rule of the Carmelites" in Palestine, from St. Albert of Jerusalem. As to St. Philip Neri, whose Feast was celebrated on May 26, he founded his famous Oratory at the end of the sixteenth century; an exceptional example of Marian piety and cheerful holiness, he advocated frequent Communion, even for children, and was even so consumed body and soul, by the fire of the Holy Spirit, that after his death, physicians performing his autopsy discovered that his heart was . . . split open! Most definitely at midnight (eight days before the Miracle) I will call Joey (Lomangino), radio, television, and anyone else in the world that I feel can help to spread the word rapidly. I am not worried. I know that if the Blessed Mother wants you there, you will be there." [Richard67] I do not want to guess at dates. However, since Joey was born 1930 he would have been onehundred years old in 2030. Conchita was surely aware of his age already in the sixties. Knowing the date of the Miracle, she will nevertheless "most definitely" call him eight days in advance. She is obviously seeing Joey as still living and being capable of answering phone calls when the time arrives. Based on her own words and the age of Joey, it seems likely that the Miracle would happen at the latest around 2030. Everyone's first preference is to heed the message. And when the day comes, hopefully get information eight days before the awaited miracle. I miss the former email list provided by www.garabandal.us that would have informed about this. Today forums like this is a way to stay tuned about the miracle. I also pray for Conchitas effort to call "radio, television and anyone else in the world" that she feels can help to spread the Word rapidly.
Knowing Conchita and Glenn knows her a lot bettter she did not & does not think that way-i.e-“the Miracle is this date and Joey is this age so this is what I’ll do but he will be 100 then,” etc. She NEVER thinks that way. She just repeats to all what the Blessed Mother & Jesus told her that she can reveal and doesn’t worry about anything else including how, why or why not and how come. I/we need to be more like her and St Padre Pios advice-“Pray, Hope & Don’t Worry.” Peace!
Conchita was not concerned with the " Notification" process because I was the Director of Public Relations , for the NY Center, and Joey had turned that task over to me to carry out. The original plan, has been revised over the years , but the same task is safely still in my hands ( as I have remained close friends with Conchita ). Nothing to worry about.

It is for me fifty years of contemplating the most beautiful thing in the world. I give thanks to God for having been a part of those experiences, impossible to describe adequately, but which have pressed upon my soul the secure assurance of faith and hope. I thank you, Father Rolando, for granting me the opportunity to recite the Message of Our Mother in the village yet again. [ October 18,1961-We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first, we must lead good lives. If we do not, a chastisement will befall us. The cup is already filling up, and if we do not change, a very great chastisement will come upon us.] The Angel said: As my message of October 18 has not been complied with and has not been made known to the world, I am advising you that this is the last one. Before, the cup was filling up. Now it is flowing over. Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Wow! I saw this on the Garabandal movie twitters feed. This is the short of it translated. Our Blessed Mother still working Miracles there. Amen! Monserrat Moreno, Spanish, suffered from a degenerative disease of the long-standing spine. After her last stay in the hospital-twenty-eight days prostrate-the doctors had made her aware of the need to start using a wheelchair. On August 15, 2012, in San Sebastián de Garabandal, she was cured in a total and surprising way. His traumatologist could only say: "This is materially and scientifically impossible". MAY 18 IS THE BIRTHDAY OF SAINT (Pope) John Paul II ! ON GARABANDAL: There is a book on Garabandal, written by Albrecht Weber in 1993, entitled Garabandal Der Zeigefmger Gottes (Garabandal: The Finger of God), of which a first edition copy was presented to Pope John Paul II. He later asked his secretary, Fr. (now Archbishop) Stanislaus Dziwisz, to write to the author. In the subsequent printing (2000) of the book, on page 19, a portion of the Pope's message is reprinted, as follows:"May God reward you for everything. Especially for the deep love with which you are making the events connected with Garabandal more widely known. May the Message of the Mother of God find an entrance into hearts before it is too late. As an expression of joy and gratitude, the Holy Father gives you his apostolic blessing."Weber writes, "From the attached greeting in the Pope's own handwriting, with his signature, it is clear how deep an interest he has in the events of Garabandal, and how anxious he is that they should be made known in a credible way." On July 23, 1988, during a special general audience with the Pope at the Vatican ... "special" because it was held on Saturday, rather than the usual Wednesday... Father Robert introduced Garabandal Visionary Mari-Loli and family to him. Father Robert who was holding 7 year old Maria Dolores, one of the three Lafleur children, said to the Pope: "Your Holiness, a special blessing for your littlest children who come on behalf of The Blessed Virgin from Garabandal." Thank you Glenn for this information. I earlier pointed out a reasonable conclusion out from one interview with Conchita. Many people ask about the right month of the Miracle etc. They get answers also out of logical conclusions, id est March-May. But not March. Not May. Then April. Between 7th-17th but not 7 or 17. And so on. We refer to interviews with Conchita and the other seers. They themselves refer to what the Blessed Mother has told them. When I assumed that the Warning and the Miracle would take place at latest 2030, since Conchita talked about calling Joey, this is only mathemathics. Our concern is to spread the message and live good lives ourselves. But it seems likely that the fulfilling of Garabandal is in a near future on this side of 2030. We should not worry but have an increasing awareness about this. Finally, we do not know God´s time schedule. To God nothing is impossible. We do not know and we are not allowed to know.
