"IF it happened, SOMEBODY would have said this long ago, but its just coming out now, unverified and undocumented, all hearsay, give us all a break. (BTW it was 1963). So that's why I get upset with people who have no facts, and argue with me. Jacinta, Mary Cruz, Mary Loli, and myself. But then we started to have ecstasies separately, each one in her home. Hi Glenn, I have a question related to the 4 popes prophecy and I think that you have answered this in the past but I want to verify it with you. I believe that you stated that you think that the Miracle will happen while Pope Francis is pope, is this correct? I am asking because I reread the following recently Bishop: ... Are there any other relationships between Rome, the Holy Father and the Miracle that you would like to talk about? Conchita: Yes. The Virgin told us something related to the Holy Father, and it was that before the Miracle there would be only three more Popes. Yes I believe it will be under his Papal reign . Conchita said after the death of JohnXXIII , there would be 4 more popes ,”until the end of THE times” ,(NOT the end of all time, NOT the end of the Popes either ) meaning a new era begins. This is the era we are now in ( after the 4 popes Paul VI, JP I, JP II, Benedict ) it is now that we will experience the WARNING & MIRACLE .
Mari Loli letter 2-7-66 February 7,1966 One last word from Mari Loli (Written at boarding school run by the Sisters of Charity, Zaragoza) I had a locution from the Blessed Virgin. She told me I would have to suffer a great deal in this world, that I would be subject to a great many trials, and that would be the cause of most of my suffering. I asked her to tell me if I would become a Nun: she did not answer me. She told me that she was very pleased that I was here at this boarding school. I asked her if she would return to “speak “ with me: she did not reply. I asked her to give proof of the apparitions to my father so that he would believe in them. She told me that he would believe “very soon”, and that everyone else would believe also. She told me she was very pleased with my sacrifices,but that I must become better each day and do more penance in all things; that I should recite the rosary every day as I have been doing, a devotions which pleases her very much; that she loves us all very much, and that she wants us all to be very good so that we may all be reunited with her in Heavenly glory. I've just learned of the passing of Rachel Leonti. Rachel and her Husband Silvio Leonti ,managed the New York Garabandal Center for Joey Lomangino for more than 40 years ! Those of you that may have visited the Center ( or as Mary called it Joey's "House of Charity" ) surely remember her devotion to our Lady and the messages of Garabandal. May rest her soul, and may she know paradise in Heaven, she earned it.
CRUCIFIX RISES BY ITSELF FROM BEING DROPPED THE MUD ! & GIRLS DRY FROM WALKING IN THE RAIN ! With her eyes fixed straight above, Conchita stooped slightly and reached down about 50 centimeters (20 inches) from the ground. Then before the attentive and stupefied eyes of all of us who witnessed it, the crucifix came out of the mud by itself to the level of the girl's hand. Jose Maria Alba Cereceda wrote a report dated on August 22, 1962 concerning some of the events that had taken place in San Sebastián de Garabandal He is founder of the Missionary Society of Christ the King. He passed away on January 11, 2002 at the age of 77. Fr. Jose Maria Alba Cereceda wrote a report dated on August 22, 1962 concerning some of the events that had taken place in San Sebastián de Garabandal. "According to the medical evaluation, a psychological or abnormal explanation is unthinkable; neither is it feasible to entertain the possibility of commercial, propaganda, or fraudulent interests on behalf of the family members or of the village as a whole." The psychological reactions of the girls are entirely normal. There is nothing fictitious or superimposed. According to the rules used by the great spiritual masters for the discernment of spirits, there is no indication of a possible diabolical influence. Furthermore, one can perceive a spirit of humility and poverty, of piety, austere simplicity, a great sense of belonging to the Church, and of obedience. Finally, in Fr. Today in Garabandal History: AUGUST 23, 1961: UNPARALLELED AND LIVING PRESENCE OF THE "CRUCIFIX" IN GARABANDAL Within the limits allowed by the Note from Msgr. Doroteo Fernandez and never in opposition to them, the church of Garabandal remains a major pole of the apparitions. In each one of them, or almost, the visionaries returned there to pray before the closed door. There, on several occasions, the Angel even gave them Communion. On the day following the interdiction we know, the girls, in ecstasy before the closed door and on the advice of their Vision, suddenly decided to get a crucifix from their homes . . . except Mari-Cruz (for personal family reasons. Henceforth, the visionaries in ecstasy would systematically be equipped with one. During the apparitions, the visionaries would present their crucifix to be kissed, sometimes kiss it themselves, or make the sign of the cross with it over those present, notably over those who, very often in secret prayer, "were asking for proofs" . . . The children also made the sign of the cross with it over persons lying down and asleep, on the forehead of the sick, on the heads of beds (twice if two persons slept in them), over the vehicles of visitors, etc. The kiss of the crucifix played an immense role at San Sebastian de Garabandal, giving rise in those benefited from this, to profound emotions, healings and even to remarkable conversions. Today in Garabandal history August 23,1961 The Apostolic Administrator from Santandar, Bishop Doroteo Fernandez, closes the doors to the church ,so apparitions can not happen inside. His reasoning is that overflow crowding is leading to damage of the church. I mention this only for the more important fact of “OBEDIENCE” that Mary taught to the girls. Read Conchita’s account of why below. Obedience The virtue of obedience is one of the greatest indicators for determining the authenticity of alleged apparitions. According to the Saints, it is the only virtue the devil cannot imitate (who, by his nature, is disobedient), and is therefore the hallmark of authentic apparitions. In the apparitions of Garabandal the examples of obedience are so numerous and varying, that one can say that it permeated from all facets of the girls' lives. Most notably, the Blessed Virgin instructed the children on the importance of obedience, especially to the Bishop. In fact, She told the children to obey the Bishop even before her; "She taught us to obey the Bishop before her." What is most striking, is even the Blessed Virgin Herself, in the apparitions, obeyed the commands of the bishop, as detailed in the account below; Conchita, interview, 1973: "At the beginning, we used to go into the Church (editor's note; The Blessed Virgin often led the girls into a local church, where She would recite the Rosary together with them). But then the people, because they wanted to be first when we extended our arms, would make a big disturbance. So the bishop said we could not go into the church anymore. Then the Virgin, from the time the bishop said not to go into the church, never would let us in there again." Conchita recounts that, from that day forward, the Blessed Virgin no longer entered the Church, but instead remained outside. The children learned from the example of the Virgin, and followed it themselves. The girls were not only obedient and docile to the bishops, but also to their parents, interrogations by doctors, physical exams, psychological tests, criticisms and slander, and so forth. They went along with everything imposed on them. Joseph Pelletier notes; "This simple unquestioning obedience to the commission manifested by the girls on this occasion is typical of their attitude and conduct toward the Church and clergy all during the apparitions" -“Cocnhita’s Diary” pg 53 In 1965, in response to those eager to spread the message of Garabandal, Conchita writes; "This is agreeable to the Blessed Virgin. She is very pleased to have us work to spread the message. That is what She wants. But she wants us to obey the Church, for in this way we will give greater glory to God. She will provide time for the message to be spread with the permission of the Church."
August 24, 1970. LETTER SIGNED BY CONCHITA TO THE FRENCH YOUNG PEOPLE WHO VISITED THE PEOPLE OF GARABANDAL. Dear young French people: From you the Virgin desires help to turn the world and avoid God's wrath upon us sinners. She trusts you so that with your example and selflessness you will be models for the other young people who have not had the thanks that you have to hear the messages of the Virgin. She asks you so much spirit of penance, sacrifice and prayer. Without these weapons nothing we can do. It's not much time we have, but it's enough to avoid great punishment and content our Mother's Holy Heart. It is in the Holy Sacrament that you will find enough strength to embark on this life that the Virgin is constantly asking you to go to the Blessed, to empty your heart of worldly things that will not let you hear God. If you do this you will start living life happy, because only happiness you have never felt will be found in the surrender to God and the Virgin. Pray for one another, for yourselves, ask the Virgin. Order it with faith and trust. She will give you everything good for you. And now for me and my friends I ask you to pray to God and the Virgin to be humble and sacrificial and all together to think more about Jesu s' Passion, to forget about ourselves. In togetherness of prayers, and that one day forever we can meet in Heaven to be eternally happy. Conchita Gonzalez.
CONCHITA'S VISIT TO PADRE PIO On February 9, 1975 the magazine known as “NEEDLES” had recorded an interview with Conchita . In January 1966, Conchita arrived in Rome with her mother, a Spanish priest, Fr. Luis Luna, Professor Enrico Medi and Princess Cecilia from Bourbon and Parma. As Conchita had to wait a day before her interview with Cardinal Ottaviani, Professor Medi suggested that they go to San Giovanni Rotondo to see Padre Pio. Conchita herself tells about her visit, taken from her interview in NEEDLES magazine: "We all agreed to go so we headed towards the monastery in Professor Medi’s rental car. We arrived about 9 o’clock at night and we were told that we wouldn’t be able to see Padre Pio until the next morning, after he celebrated the 5 a.m. Mass. Fr. Luna and the Professor went to the sacristy before Mass began. The Professor told me later on what had happened. He said that Fr. Luna told Padre Pio that the Princess of Spain was there to see him, Padre Pio replied, "I don’t feel very well and won’t be able to see her until later in the day." Then Professor Medi said to him, "There is someone else here to see you as well. Conchita wants to speak with you." Padre Pio replied, "Conchita of Garabandal? Come back at eight o'clock this morning." When we arrived we were brought into a small room, a cell, which had a bed, a chair, and a small table. I asked Padre Pio if this was his room and if he slept here, to which he replied, 'Oh no, you cannot see my room. This is a rich room.' At the time I did not realize what a holy man Padre Pio was, as I know him to be now. I was very young; I was only 16." Q: Who was in the room with you? Conchita: It was just my mother, Fr. Luna, and a priest from the monastery who spoke Spanish and took a lot of pictures. I don’t remember the Princess or the Professor being there. Q: Can you tell us what was said during your visit with Padre Pio? Conchita: I only remember a little. I do remember that the priest who had been taking the pictures asked permission from Padre Pio who responded, “You have been taking them since you arrived.” I remember that I had the crucifix that Our Lady had kissed and I said to Padre Pio, “This Cross was kissed by the Blessed Virgin. Would you like to kiss it?” Padre Pio took the crucifix and placed it in the palm of his left hand, over the stigmata. Then he took my hand and placed it over the crucifix, and closed his fingers around my hand. Then with his right hand he blessed my hand and the crucifix. He did the same with my mother when she asked him to bless her rosary that had also been kissed by the Blessed Virgin. I was kneeling the whole time I was with him, he held me by the hand, together with the cross, while he spoke to me. I asked Conchita for a picture of that meeting, and she said :” I don't have the photo, Fr. Alesio who promised it to me, died (before giving it to her ). - Glenn
UNTANGLED ROSARIES Another interesting miraculous phenomenon was the returning of rosaries. Now that people started to believe the Blessed Mother was actually appearing at Garabandal, they came in the hundreds, and thousands,they would bring their rosaries and medals to be kissed by her. They were all piled on a table for the girls to offer up to her. Entangled when presented by the girls to be venerated by the Blessed Mother, rosaries, medals, and multitude of objects would incredibly untangle smoothly when being returned to their owners. Even without any pre-established order. The Garabandal visionaries also never errored in returning each object to its proper owner, and never actually had to look for the owner, Mary led them to the owner while gazing upward at her.
