GIFTS FROM SAINT PIO TO CONCHITA On Sept. 23, 1968, Conchita met Padre Pio’s close friend, Father Bernardino Cennamo, at Lourdes. It was Padre Pio’s wish to leave Conchita several personal items of his to her, after his death. He left her his rosary, one of the 3 Veils that covered his face at his wake, and one of his blood stained gloves. This act of friendship speaks volumes to me about how close they were, and how much he believed Conchita and the Garabandal apparitions. When Conchita had returned home she decided to write about the incident to a friend in Madrid. This is from Conchita’s interview in NEEDLES magazine in 1975: "I had the cloth in front of me while I wrote the letter when all of a sudden the room was filled with a fragrance. I had heard about the fragrances from Padre Pio, but I never paid any attention to them. The whole room filled with such a strong smell of perfume that I began to cry. It was the first time I experienced this, it happened after his death."
SEPT. 20 1918, Padre Pio receives the stigmata of Christ. Padre Pio writing to P. Benedetto little more than a month afterwards: "It all happened in a flash. While all this was taking place, I saw before me a mysterious Person, similar to the one I had seen on August 5th, differing only because His hands, feet and side were dripping blood. The sight of Him frightened me: what I felt at that moment is indescribable. 'I thought I would die, and would have died if the Lord hadn't intervened and strengthened my heart which was about to burst out of my chest. The Person disappeared and I became aware that my hands, feet and side were pierced and were dripping with blood"

Wow. I never knew that or the amazing story afterward re proof of that secret place that St Padre Pio experienced pain on his body other than the known Stigmata. Is it any wonder He’s a Saint! Thanks for sharing Glenn.

TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY SEPTEMBER 23 : FEAST DAY OF SAINT PADRE PIO. Father Cenammo responded, "Padre Pio saw the Miracle before he died. He told me himself." The priest gave Conchita one of the three veils that covered Padre Pio's face during his wake, saying that the stigmatist had requested this before he died. He told her truthfully that he personally did not believe in the authenticity of Garabandal until Padre Pio requested this of him. Conchita also was given Padre Pio's rosary,a veil from his wake, and one of the gloves he wore, stained by his stigmata.
SAINT PADRE PIO'S BELIEF IN GARABANDAL : Joey Lomangino’s recall of the when he talked to Padre Pio: “We made arrangements to come back again that same day and greeted Padre Pio in the cloister. When we knelt down, we said to him, “Padre Pio, is it true that the Virgin is appearing to the four girls of Garabandal?” And he said, “Yes.” We said, “Padre Pio, should we go there? He said, “Yes, why not?” And that’s how it happened. Because I received the assurance from Padre Pio that the Virgin was appearing and that he permitted me to go, then I wasn’t afraid and I went. “ Saint (Padre) Pio affirms Garabandal to a PH.D in confession. Joachim Bouflet,PH.D. went to Padre Pio for confession in July of 1968. Padre Pio told him "Pray to the Madonna. Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel." "Yes, Padre, I pray to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For that matter, I would like to become a Carmelite." He didn't comment on this but repeated with insistence, "Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel who appeared at Garabandal." Bouflet:"So it's true?" Padre Pio : "Certo e vero!" ("Yes, it's true!") “While he was living, the same Padre Pio guaranteed the authenticity of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin. He met Conchita at San Giovanni Rotondo. Even during the last days of his life he talked about this to his brothers in religious life and left a personal message for the principle personage of the apparitions. “ Fr. Pelletier -“Our Lady comes to Garabandal” page 219 From the book “The Final Hour “ page 141 On the topic of Padre Pio ‘s belief in Garabandal: “Asked on another occasion about its authenticity, he answered curtly, ”How many times must she appear there to be believed ? “ From the book “Thunder of Justice “ page 163 : An incident which confirms Padre Pio’s belief in Garabandal occurred early in 1966. Conchita, who was only 16 years old, was visiting Rome with her mother and Fr. Luna. She had been invited by Cardinal Ottaviani, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. During the visit, Conchita met privately with Padre Pio. On this occasion, he took Conchita’s hand and her crucifix that Our Lady had kissed in Garabandal and held them both in his own two hands. The crucifix had passed through the hands of the child Jesus, during the apparition of November 13,1965. Upon Padre Pio’s death in 1968 ,his close friend Father Bernardino Cennamo,was instructed to give Conchita several of his personal items. When suddenly the whole room became filled with fragrance, the perfume so strong I started to cry.”
Is it true that Conchita said that there were only 3 more popes left, (at that time), which could mean that the 33 day pope was not counted and neither is Pope Francis, possibly because Benedict is still alive and would be the last true pope, if Conchita actually said what they say she said, or perhaps prayers changed events and we gained "extra" popes...
She actually said “4 Popes” but Pope JP1 had such a short reign that He wasn’t counted. The Time marked after Pope Benedict was marking the end of an “epoch “ in the church. End of one era and a new Epoch began with Pope Francis. That’s it. The Prophecy, as are a lot of Prophecies, aren’t fully understood until after the event happens. Thus it’s also how it is with Garabandal. Stay tuned!
Albrecht Weber, the author of the book “The Finger of God“, had become involved in Garabandal in 1963 and became friendly with Conchita. On November 14, 1965, the day after the last apparition of Our Lady in Garabandal, Mr. Weber interviewed Conchita at her home in the presence of her mother. There was also present with Mr. Weber an interpreter. During that interview, it came out that when Conchita had spoken, on the very day that Pope John XXIII died, of “Three more Popes and then would come the end of the times,” her mother had asked her several questions. In response to one of her mother’s questions, Conchita responded that Our Lady had actually said that there would be FOUR MORE POPES but that She was not counting one of them. When Conchita’s mother heard that she strictly forbade Conchita to repeat that again as her mother feared there would be erroneous interpretations and much gossip. People might wrongly believe that one of the Popes might be false or bad, etc. During that conversation with her mother, Conchita also said that Our Lady had told her that one of the Popes would have a very short reign.
Hmmmm. Very provocative. That means Pope Benedict is the 4th Pope. Where does that put PF? I am not being flippant. I am really concerned.
Pope Francis is the First Pope of the new period in the Church. Pope Benedict and his ending as Pope simply marked the “End of the Times.” Marking a specific moment of time in the Church. We are now in a new “Time or Epoch” of the Church and will be challenging to say the least culminating with the Garbandal events starting with the Warning. Prayers! Peace!

Some writers have tied this succession of popes to Revelations 17:10, wherein Benedict is the 7th king who continues for a short time (he is continuing alive). This tie is based upon the time when the Vatican became an independent state in the Lateran Treaty, in 1929, and therefore the pope is compared to a "king", and in 1929 Benedict XV was pope, making him the first "king", and again John Paul I is not counted because of his short reign. So, I gave it some consideration.
I would argue that the Blessed Mother told Conchita 4 Popes ( Paul VI, JPI, JPII, Benedict XVI ) so we have to count the "short lived" pope, because infact he was a pope.
Conchita on Gossip I was talking to Conchita one day,about rumors on the internet, anyhow, she thanked me for defending the blessed Mother’s words against gossip. I said how much I hate the lies and gossip on the internet against her and our Blessed Mothers messages, and she said it didn’t bother her. I said “why ?” She said “ I don’t have anything to hide from God, so I don’t worry about what anyone else thinks”. Boy, I wish I had her peace .
